It's very simple, if Lampard continues to start for us then it would clearly invalidate AVB's policy/assertion of making team's selection based on merit. How many times have we heard that statement from managers joining a new club- Capello (England), scolari, Carlotti et al have all said the same thing but never backed their word up with action.

The evidence on ground suggests otherwise. if he's still a good player, he needs to start showing it and fast.

What facts. What have you based your assertion on? In the last 6 months, He has played consistently below par yet you claim facts suggests he's still good.

Yes you are right, he's no longer Chelsea standard which only begs the question why is he still a regular starter?

No one is immune to criticism.

Firstly the facts i base it on is the fact he played last year for a team that came 2nd in the prem and got to the quarter finals of the champions league and i dont think u play centre mid for a team that does that well if your poor. He wasnt chelseas worst player apart from maybe the 1st leg against man utd. No manager has dropped him and he still plays for england. If he was to go for sale he would move to another top club. Maybe i shouldnt use the word fact but im pretty sure im right and the majority of public would agree. He's performances are definately dropping i hve no argument with that and if you look at my previous posts ive said that he should be moved on. I dont think he should be excempt from criticism just think hes an honest pro who gives it all, slag the manager off not him.

 I thought I'd receive a bit of backlash from that Shawcross comment.

I think he's a good defender, but lacks discipline. I'm not sure why Pulis hasn't controlled that yet, maybe he is? But when he's got a cool head he's a very good defender. Can read the game well & will mark his man.

lentherussian - There's no use in talking about the Ramsey incident, such things happen in football.. There's no way he meant to injure Ramsey like that, he's not Stephen Hunt.

I disagree with things like that happen in football comment. He had absolutely no need to go in that hard, it was reckless. Like sayin if you hit someone in a car whilst speeding but didnt mean its not as bad, its still reckless and your meant to be a professional.

I gave up on the idea of AVB dropping Lampard when he called him 'Lamps' in a press conference. He seems to soft to drop him in my opinon. I'd rather moan about players he has the balls to drop or replace i.e. the infamous pair now known as Kalouda.

Lol Kalouda.

I can understand AVB starting Kalou though, Sturridge is not available atm, and unlike Anelka he will actually stay in his position.

Instead of drifting to DM, and also taking 10 minutes to pass the ball.

Even Anelka at his absolute worse is still infinitely more competent than Kalou. He has a better first touch, doesn't lose the ball even if he holds on to it for half an hour at a time and has the pace to make opponents back up and give him space to do something for instance the shot that was saved today that was nearly a goal.

Nobody respects Kalou. He has no techincal quality. Zero pace. No strength. He is truly awful in every way. He doesn't have a single redeeming quality.

My take on today's match. First I would like to give a shout out to The Excalibur Hotel & Casino Resort. I had to stay in Vegas over the weekend for work. I asked if they could show the match, since it was on @ 5:30am. Not only did they show it, they showed it on the Large Screen :D Made my freakin' day. Secondly, I didn't know Halsey to be a freakin' Potter  What is that saying you English like to use??? Freakin' Muppet. I won't dwell on those points, but I would like to dwell on Mikel. Freakin' everywhere on the pitch today. It was a joy to see him out there stopping runs behind our lines, then taking shots on goal. That guy is the MOTM for me. Lastly, Torres needs to learn to play w/ his team. I am tired of seeing him trying to go around 5 defenders for a shot on goal. I rather see quick passes & getting everyone involved in the attack. Carry on people. Let's get hyped for the season. I am hearing that AVB will be looking for that winger we all have been wanting on the Right flank.

Halsey is just a Chelsea hater lol, we have only one once in the last 4 games he has taken charge of.

Anelka is miles better than Kalou.

Unlike Kalou, Anelka has skills and technique, but he's getting old now, and he's not as quick as he used to be. Kalou can't even receive a ball properly.

I agree that Anelka is better than Kalou by "miles", he would be better playing as CM than RW though :P

A Kalou fan will point out the following redeeming features:

. Attitude - He bitches behind his team-mates backs to the media (direct quotes)

. Stats - Misleading to say the least, and to think someone used assist stats as an argument against Modric.. smh

£60,000 a week... facepalmt.gif
