To fullfil his potential we need extremely creativ midfielders so that he can concentrate on the defense. Romeu is very similar to Mikel. Only that most of you tolerate Romeus style of play because he comes from La fuckin Masia...

In the beginning of his Chelsea career he demonstrated a lot more attacking potential than Mikel ever will (due to his attacking abilities being dissolved by Mourinho & co.). Now he's a bit more defensive. Who knows why, orders from André or he doesn't have room to get forward.

I cant remember a game where he showed "a lot more". Sometimes he tried to take part in the build up but the team rarely benefited from that. Maybe he has the potential to raise his offensive abilitys but in my eyes his strength is interrupting the opponents build up and thats what he should focus on mainly. Defenitly more like Mikel than like Schweinsteiger for example

I dont think he has been THAT bad, our only problem is Mikel's below par displays at the start (especially against Arsenal) and Romeu coming in and making an instant impact had led us to believe he is some sort off superman is why it's led to believe he's been crap.

He's been ok, he just isnt Makele yet.

And he'll probably never be. I don't think that anyone should expect him to become a new Maka, but he can still become a good player.

I agree.He's definitely better than Mikel and can be a great player for us but I will be very disappointed if he chooses to go back to Barcelona.

I beg to differ.Romeu wasn't considered because our past few games have been against mediocre teams and AVB chose to use an attacking cm in form of meriereles.Also the return of Essien has made it more difficult for Romeu.IMO hes a wonderful talent and is a very good defensive midfielder.His passes are truly exceptional and his defending is top class.

He's good, i'm not disputing that, just don't think he has been playing well as of late.

The facts are he played and was impressive, he got better the more he played. He's since not played that much and therefore hasn't played as well but his potential is there. He's not a robot, he's not just gonna walk into the team at 20 and not have a bad game. He was very poor when he came on at the weekend but that was against a very hungry, aggressive Man Utd team that needed to score. This is Man Utd not Bolton, very tough situation for him and he was obviously nervous.

I think he should play tomorrow with Essien and Lampard with the usual front 3.
