Bir_CFC 3,455
Where else will he be able to play then?I thought he could get the Lamaprd kind of role.I'm not sure if he can play in a 4-2-3-1. If you put a gun to my head, i'd say a #10 is the only option you have. He's a fit in a 4-3-3, he can play in the midfield Lamps role. The double pivot requires too much defensive work for McEachran to be even considered. Maybe in the future he can add that to his game since he's still just developing but I really don't see the potential in that aspect of his game. Jase 43,479
Can understand why he wants to go back to Barcelona but think I would be disappointed IF and/or WHEN it does happen.
Sheva. 5,373
Pathetic. I don't care if he was schooled at Barca, how many chances did he get in the first team?Yet AVB believed in him, brought him here and gave him games. And now he would just jump at a chance to return there to warm their bench.(You can say RDM didn't play him a lot, but not like he could bench Mikel who was playing fantastic) BleedsBlue
Justin_3d 1,140
Not surprised. This is why I never really cared about Romeu.Said it from the beginning, that don't count on this guy for long term plans. That you had to wait at least two seasons before you can count on him to be part of the real team. And now some people seem pissed and shocked....if anything the pathetic people are those that where dull enough to not see this!!!! laura90, Amblève. and Term-X

Term-X 7,891
The Oriol acquisition and the nature of the transfer was not the 'Chelsea way' anyway, AVB wanted him at Porto. We should never do deals like this again with Barca.
BleedsBlue 1,549
His return to Barcelona was always inevitable. If he doesn't leave this year then he will leave next year. So,those who have admired his performances at Chelsea(including me) should come to terms with it and not get so emotional. With Keita leaving, he's going to be the direct backup to Busquets. We knew this could happen, he hinted at possibly returning 1-2 times during the season. Don't be bitter. Not to mention it's a good bit of business by the club to make ~4m for 5 months of playing.

And both of them will be considered before Romeu. Also i'm not bitter, i won't hate him if he goes back, just don't think it makes much sense when he will play more here. Santiago. 1,500
such a shame we are not gaining from this pure talent. With the squad we have no, we should distribute the 4 3 3 and have Romeu the DM role as he is the best option we have in the solo role. Randall 315
He wants to play for Barcelona so he can fuck off and play for them. I don't want players here just using us as a stepping stone. Zero respect for that. See ya Romeu, I haven't liked him since he said ages ago that he wants to play for Barcelona.
termninja 5,290
Not surprised at all, he is their kid afterall...it was still a decent deal though...he provided some squad depth and we will earn cash of him...
BleedsBlue 1,549
If Romeu leaves then the club will have to keep Essien for another season.
ZanSnake 1,211
If he wants to go, he can fuck off - sell him for a bit of bob more, and then carry on with our business. We should turn our attention to players who come here to play for us, not use us as a club to leap-frog their careers!

DDA 9,941
I know this isn't news to everyone but this article is utterly ridiculous. 'Barca plan to destroy Chelsea', what by taking Romeu back, hahahhah unbelievable journalism! Jype 6,398
Can't see how some people are upset with those quotes because from day one it has been inevitable that if Barcelona come calling he will want to go back. If he really wants to go sit on their bench or even the stands sometimes then it's his loss and we will have more than enough quality players even without him and at least we would end up making a little profit on him. All this talk of him going back to Barcelona is only speculation at this time and those people already wishing him to fuck off are in my opinion a disgrace, because the man is still a Chelsea player and was only answering to some journos asking him if he wants to go back.Romeu gets abused just for answering honestly to questions in an interview and then we have the same people wishing us to buy Maicon and would welcome the man with open arms while in reality he is stalling to agree a deal to join us because he's still waiting if Real Madrid come knocking and if they did then he would choose them over us any day. Gotta love the double standards.
Tomo 21,751
Let him go now, its better than him going when he becomes a key part of the team, use the £10m we will get and a bit more to try and get Vidal in.
