If it's true we've included such a clause in his loan contract it's obviously we'd ask for an exorbitant amount of money for one match. That's probably the amount PER MATCH, as each match is a different case.

So Chelsea board proves yet again to be very smart. Either Atlético pays the ridiculous amount of money if they're desperate or they play with a keeper that hasn't been playing at all for them at the final stages of the most important competition for them. We're brilliant, really.

We also have an amazing defensive system. We haven't conceded at home this year in fact, but that's besides the point - your argument is nonsense and full of holes.

You say that Courtois (not Curtois ) is part of a great defensive system, yet he's still called on to make a lot of saves. Surely you have to recognise his part in that - in fact there are a number of great saves he's made that have gotten them to where they are in the league right now, not least the one against Bilbao.

You don't seem to have a problem recalling the 'insane saves' Cech used to have to make under our similarly awesome defensive system so why not acknowledge Courtois's importance to Atletico? It's telling that you say Cech used to make insane saves as well.

The honest truth of the matter is that Cech is still our number one only because Courtois is in Spain. If he was part of the club this season then there are a couple of occasions he would've got a chance simply because for the first time in a long time, Cech deserved to be dropped (most likely after the Sunderland defeat).

The funny thing is it isn't the shot-stopping part of Courtois's game that would've probably have seen him installed as number one. That's generally something based on reflexes and agility, something you would expect to be better in a younger man. No, what is most desirable right now is his decisiveness at coming for crosses. Cech has all of a sudden become nervous at coming for the ball which is extremely bizarre, and the most worrying this is that it's actually cost us goals and it's cost us points.

I really hope Chelsea and Atletico will not meet in the semi final. I can understand this whole deal to come over as quite disgusting to the neutral public. It was a very bright idea, but it won't get Chelsea any sympathy... (and that's me being polite).

Imagine if both of us made it to the final and we made them pay up or force them to sit him. Of course there will be murmurs of discontent from non Chelsea fans, but there's absolutely nothing wrong in this. When they signed the contract it was there in black and white, they were aware of this possibility. And tbh Athletico themselves will probably not complain to much, Chelsea have paid his wages and gave a player who's one of the primary reasons they're both top of the league and where they are in the UCL.
