We ditched a club legend for Courtois, we made changes to the goalkeeping coach for him and this is how he is repaying us - by behaving like a c**t?

Thats exactly why you can't let managers made all the decisions. Ditching Cech for Courtois was a decision made by Sir Jose Mourinho, not to mention the vast majority of the fans backed that decisions back in the day, mostly because people agreed that Courtois was a better GK and because of course Mourinho was Chelsea, and everything decision he made was supported.

No mate we have gone one batters than that, it looks like we are after a Championship keeper in Jack Butland.

I saw a week ago Stoke said £30m and he is whoever pays that's new keeper.

He is SHIT at ball distribution.

FFS I  dont see why the board doesn't just pay that £30m or so to PSG and grab Alphonse Areola. Hell, more if we have to. Better a French nipple than a British butt. That motto has served me well on some dates back in the day before I married my wife.

"Ditching" Čech was right call, risk worth taking. Courtois is a lot better GK than Petr now. Čech is old and in massive decline. But this fuck Courtois should have appreciated that more.

EDIT: Appreciate that among all other things. I mean, 4 good trophies speaks for themselves, we gave him everything.

I agree, Jose’s decision was widely supported, including by me even though I was well aware of the potential problem about loyalty and posted about it several times. Decisions have to be made, and someone has to make them. You weigh the pros and cons then make a choice.

If the decision were mine to make, and I had to do it again, I’d make the same choice. Choosing Thibaut was clearly the right option at the time. It’s no good second guessing it years later.

As for all the Thibaut hatred, I must tell you frankly that Chelsea fans really piss me off most of the time. Like watching the Huddersfield match at the end of last season in near silence. The only times people around me made any noise during a must win game was to give the team stuck. If we’re not going to try; if we’re not going to do everything we can to help, then who are we to moan at the players? Someone will chirp up and tell me fans have a right to complain. Well I am complaining about the petulant toddler tantrums some people call support.

It looks like Thibaut is a goner. I’m sorry his time at Stamford Bridge hasn’t gone better. Sorry for him, and sorry for us. It really is not all his fault. We sent him at an impressionable age to a great club in a beautiful city. A club with a better team and more passionate fans. Then we brought him back to a chaotic club lurching from crisis to crisis and showing no lasting signs of progress. Though I may be a lone voice I say good luck to you Thibaut. If you ever return to Stamford Bridge you’ll recognise me. I’ll be the one applauding you.

It's not that he wants to leave, its the manner this has been done.

Be a man, and be straight with everyone.

It's what has annoyed me with Hazard over the years and particularly this summer, the mixed signals to the media to just make sure that all bases are covered and you'll be welcomed back to Chelsea if nothing materialises. People cannot have it both ways. Football is far too emotional and tribal for players to have their cake and eat it. And those mixed signals will automatically give hope to fans that they will stay and only makes it even worse if they leave.

The difference between Hazard and Courtois is that Hazard has seemingly backed up his talk this summer by coming back to the club and looks prepared to get his head down and perform for us like we need him to.

Courtois on the other hand has shown himself up with comments about having no problem playing for Chelsea this season. It's a cowardly showing and is the reason why he will leave under a cloud and not likely receive a warm welcome back to the club like many of our old players have over the years.

I do understand. He’s basically disappointed in Chelsea because we are holding on to him this late int eh window bc we suck in the transfer market.

hes saying he does not really care if there is a replacement or not. Time is up and he has been warning and waiting for a long time.

He will stay awol for a while and then if all fails will come back and coast receiving his fat paycheck until Jan... rinse and repeat.

this club looks lost tbh

If he goes awol the club can fine the shit out of hin, its not that easy. It is still a contractual obligation lik yours and mine and in you wokr contract you are obliged to show up on thr workplace and do your best. Courtois is playing a dangerous game. I cant believe Madrid want someone who is too unprofessional

It was the correct decision at that time. If we had let Courtois go back then in favour of a declining Cech we'd be ruing that like we are ruing the sales of KDB and Salah. Nobody had any way of knowing that Courtois would become such a massive bellend.

So...what Jason said doesn't make any sense. Cech was ditched because he was a declining GK. It means Courtois doesn't have any special feelings about replacing Cech.

Don’t get why every time he has or is being linked with a move away people bring up Cech like it means shits or changes the fact he wants to leave. Yea Cech was a legend here but under AVB people were calling for his head cause he was done, took 75 minutes to pass the ball out from the back etc. It’s a funny thing later that season he went and had about 4 world class games in the CL run but still, he would of had to go eventually and he got a good move and all worked out fine.

Courtois, a bellend or not, is a modern day footballer. Look at the state of a lot of these young fuckers, always talking about leaving/moving etc but it’s part and parcel of modern day football now because certain players are made out to be bigger than clubs and certain agents are arseholes. I mean if I was a United fan for instance and watched my team get beat by city in the way they did that game Pogba had blue in his hair? Seems a bit stupid but again a thick as shit move. Even that whole Neymar leaving Barca scandal and then Dembele going to replace him, not showing up at BVB training etc... modern day football is full of stupid shit like this so don’t see why people are getting so wound up over a player who is world class maybe yes, who cost about 7m, going for about 5/6 times that with only a year left on his deal.

Fair enough he’s a bellend but it’s not as if he’s the only bellend in the world of football. If we had already signed a keeper it would be no issue. So the blame for is with the board. They’ve probably known as long as we have he was possibly going to leave. Not rocket science to have a contingency plan is it? We’ve got fucking idiots in the board involved with transfers, so if you want something to be mad about, that’s what to be mad about.

Its nothing to do with feelings. I wouldn't give a toss if he came out each week in a BUY ME NOW RM shirt on as long as he did his best possible job while he was with us and keep his and hus reps damned fool gobs shut

Petr toook Cudis place and never a problem. Petr felt he had more to give after we stepped over him so he trotts off to north London. We didn't like it but he was a Blue gent about it and we never slagged him off. Even remember the cheer he got that 1st time coming home.

I cant see Tibo getting that response.

Cech was here for like over 10 years. Big player who was a huge part of the clubs modern history. He’d get a good reception regardless of if he was a gent or a cunt about leaving. Courtois has done good here but he wouldn’t expect that and quite frankly he hasn’t matched his career in terms of what he’s won here against Cech so no point comparing them in that regard. Cech isn’t just a Chelsea legend or great or whatever he’s also a PL great. One of the best GKs that has been in this league.

Again like I eluded to in my other post. Modern day football. Shit happens. Not worth worrying about it.
