iseah100 5,612
Cue people insulting him for saying bye to his teams and saying things like "If he doesn't want to play here let him stay with them." Lol
Rom2013 446
that could easily happen .. we would be helpless if he decided just to run out his timeHe won't play here for sure without signing the new contract, we have another world class keaper so no problem. If he doesn't sign we sell him, or he will be on the bench. After two years you can be sure no big team will want him.
Popular Post! Barbara 15,149 Posted July 10, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 10, 2014 I don't get where the idea he doesn't want to play here and would leave in a free transfer came from. The only article I read was Lukaku spouting his usual bullshit. The day he becomes as good as he thinks he already is, it'll be a blessing for the club he plays for, the problem is if he'll ever get to that level as the only thing he seems to miss - according to him - is Champions League football. And LOL forever at him assessing Pipita's career.I don't see Mourinho keeping him. His personality (at least his big mouth) is extremely annoying and he doesn't live up to his own assessment of himself, he isn't half good as he thinks he is. I don't remember ever seeing a case of a player saying so much shit so often. He's 'special'. All it took him was a goal and an assist in ET and boom, the kraken's mouth attacked again. It seems he doesn't ever learn.Back to Courtois though, he doesn't seem to be the same way. Yeah, he's talked a lot at the end of the season about coming back to Chelsea, staying at Atletico and a few other possibilities. His tone was different and he's earned most things he was asking. Unlike Lukaku, that's a guy who's already a La Liga champion, a Europe League champion, with an impressive record and one of the best keepers in the world. As a top player, it's only natural he wants to play. Keepers aren't like field players that can get minutes every match if they're benched. Benched keepers barely have any playing time and that would completely affect his progress. Still he handled things way classier than Lukaku and I don't agree with comparisons. iseah100, Tomo, kellzfresh and 2 others
Popular Post! The Skipper 20,609 Posted July 10, 2014 Popular Post! mannyfreshh 164
one of cech or courtois has to be sold.. no way will they want to be benchwarmers if they both are brought to compete with each other.. we need to sell one or the other. tough situation chelsea is in.. on one had u have a club legend who is still class, then courtois is the best young keeper in the world. personally i would extend courtois, then loan him out 1 more year. i would make this year all about cech
His Majesty 43
The situation is pretty obvious to me...continue three more years with Cech and then go looking for another goalkeeper for a ridiculous high transfer price or continue ten+ more years with Courtois, already one of the best in the world. burrogol 16
As a top player, it's only natural he wants to play.Point being? I read you don't compare but maybe you should? In my opinion, it's only natural for top players that they want to play (/grow, especially youngsters)? So unless you don't consider Lukaku a top player -with similar ambition to learn/play/grow-, I miss your point? Especially if compared to one of the best keepers in the world. Lukaku isn't among even the best strikers in England imo, let alone in the world. He should shut up and let his football do the talking for him. If he does that, then maybe he'll indeed become one of the best players in the world. Also I explained it's different for a field player to be benched and a GK. Bench players can get 20-30 minutes per match if they often bring impact. A keeper can go months without a match. So I understand why one of the best keepers in the world wants to play, and I don't understand why a striker that is nothing special yet is demanding things in a club as Chelsea - where there's a lot of competition for positions. bababoom, Hamilton, pHaRaOn and 2 others
burrogol 16
Not even close. So I understand why one of the best keepers in the world wants to play, and I don't understand why a striker that is nothing special yet is demanding things in a club as Chelsea - where there's a lot of competition for positions.I don't see how you can not rate him as a top player, IMO, his career and stats sofar speak for itself. However, Despite he is definitely top IMO, I agree he s not amongst the strikers 'elite', which a club like Chelsea will always strive to have...I think Rom's statements simply show he realizes that and has drawn the (logical) conclusion that in order to get there one day, he needs to play as much as possible, which at Chelsea doesn't look very likely to say the least. So it only makes sense to me that unlike Courtois, Lukaku has seen the light that he should move a step back now in order to grow?I see no difference/problem however in having similar ambition (or more) than fellow 21-year old 'top players' who want to get better and be elite one day. IMO, it and his recent statements only show :A) he's -sadly enough- understood he isn't good enough yet to be Chelsea nr1 he is very hungry to be elite one day Put A and B together and it allows to look beyond the image of the 'supposed ludacris/self overrated youngster' and see an ambitious young guy who may has had 1 dream/illusion 'broken' but lives and breathes football so much that he'll simply fight and work for as long as it takes to be elite (/Chelsea-nr 1 striker-ready) one day...1 basic requirement for that: playing time, as much as possible!
