There not lies. Is Lampard starting nearly every game because he deserves to? No Lampard is the starting CM because Jose/the board failed to bring in a quality CM and Mikel isn't consistent enough to control the midfield.

His injury decreased our depth in midfield. I remember when we signed MVG, there were reports that Chelsea's scouts liked his raw ability..and that he was a project.. Chelsea needed a classy midfielder like Strootman (at Roma at the moment)..rather than MVG right now.

I would love to see a backline consisting of: Azpi - Ivan - JT - Bertrand just for one game.

I worry about our defence against the bigger sides... The gamble of playing Azpi at LB won't work every game...would really like to see Cole or Bertrand play LB in away games

I've worked with young players for 3-4 years and sometimes they lose motivation when they are asked to constantly change clubs for a loan spell... Chalobah was a part of Watford's first team, he knew the coach, the system and the players....and then this season, he goes to Nottingham and he just doesn't seem to have settled in.

Exactly. In terms of Chalobah, I'd bring him back in January and ease him into the first team Give him games against mid-table sides and see how he goes. Even though he wouldn't be playing regularly at Chelsea, he'd at least be able to strengthen relations with our key players of the future (e.g. Hazard, Oscar, Ramires).
