Imagine if that did happen and we had to leave out all the new attacking signings. The quality of the UCL squad would be laughable.
-
Hopefully our attackers show up and put the pressure on their defense, we need the 3 points to start the season well
-
Bayern Munich again? They weren't keen on the Nkunku permanent deal and now they want Jackson, probably another cheap loan as depth for Kane.
-
I'm not a fan of seeing Spurs potentially getting Rogers and us end up with Garnacho and Gittens.
-
Pretty sure Spurs needed a #10 after their first choice went down with a bad injury just before the season started. Arsenal have a solid squad now, no more excuses for Arteta to not win the league this season.
-
Looks like contract was due to finish with Brighton in June 2026. Will be interesting to see how the loan works with Strasbourg as we've already loaned them Penders and Paez.
-
I just don't see how we balance the books for UEFA with Simons & Garnacho, that's like 100 million There would have to be solid sales (Veiga, Nkunku). Jackson going on a loan with obligation to buy doesn't really help as we would only get loan fee this season, and the sale profit next season.
-
So we haven't made an official offer but the deal is supposed to be completed? Put it this way, if Nkunku doesn't get sold, there's no Simons at Chelsea.
-
Thats what happens when you sign like 40 players and the first team squad is supposed to be 25. What I don't like seeing is players being forced out like Chilwell, Veiga. Veiga could have played at CB for us this season as a squad player but thats not going to happen and he just adds onto the list of players the club is trying to sell.
-
Wonder if that is part of the reason why the club refuse to sign a CB. Guessing the directors were hoping for Disasi + Veiga to be sold by now.
-
Thats why the Nkunku to Leipzig deal actually made sense but then Nkunku's agent rejected it as he wants to play UCL football
-
Game went as expected, Palace are ALWAYS hard to break down and they are coming off the Community Shield win vs Liverpool The only takeaways from the game: - Defense looks light without Colwill - Gittens looks super raw - Need to develop that chemistry in the final third between Palmer/Pedro/Neto/Estavao.
-
As expected, hopefully our players turn up for the contest as Palace are always tough to break down.
-
It doesn't matter if you have 3, 8 or 25 CB's on the books, the question is, can they play a decent role if they are picked....and the answer has already been given by Maresca who wants a new CB. All this talk about Aaron from posters on this forum but not a word from Maresca, he'll most likely be on loan somewhere in the January window to get minutes.
-
Fair point but has he been mentioned at all by Maresca? As I said, I would be surprised to see Aaron getting serious minutes this season.
-
I doubt Aaron was signed to be thrown into the first team....seemed more like a loan/develop opportunity at the time. Josh is likely to get minutes as the backup defender this season, I don't see Aaron playing much, maybe in an early round cup game here and there. I don't mind Maresca giving his thoughts because getting Simons/Garnacho won't be as big a game changer as having a quality CB lead the defense. Colwill getting that injury is horrible timing.
-
Isn't Lewis being sold to Forest?
-
Also, Veiga is still a Chelsea player...and a talented young CB....but for whatever reason, he won't play for the club again.
-
As per Plettigoal on twitter: [@Plettigoal] Piero Hincapié has a release clause in his contract, valid this summer. Been told the clause is worth around €60m for the 23-y/o top centre-back It would be awesome if we could get him, seems like Spurs are super keen on him.
-
Garnacho deal was done in january when his agent came to visit Stamford Bridge. It was obvious with all the rumors of Garnacho only wanting to stay in Premier League. Just hope we don't end up overpaying United for him.
-
If we loan him, that would mean the Simons deal is off. We need to sell Nkunku to help balance the books, then try to sign new players for UCL squad.
-
Problem is, who is paying for Disasi, best we can get is another loan....and even Badi has been injured on and off.
-
Time to go and check Brighton's squad for the next 6 years, do they have any good young CB's 😆
-
He should get playing time here, particularly with Lavia's fitness issues.
-
Unfortunately, whatever we say, Sanchez will be starting on opening day of the season Just hope our attack can get a few goals 😆
