To be fair...if Mata was sold to PSG or a Spanish club...there would not have been so much reaction Maybe Lampard won't leave at all...he could get his coaching badges and become Jose's assistant in 2-3 seasons time
Feb 8 23:45 EST Liverpool v Arsenal Anfield Premier League Feb 12 06:45 EST Arsenal v Manchester United Emirates Stadium Premier League Feb 19 06:45 EST Arsenal v Bayern Munich Emirates Stadium UEFA Champions League (Round of 16) Feb 22 02:00 EST Arsenal v Sunderland Emirates Stadium Premier League Mar 1 02:00 EST Stoke City v Arsenal Britannia Stadium Premier League Mar 8 02:00 EST Arsenal v Swansea City Emirates Stadium Premier League Mar 11 06:45 EST Bayern Munich v Arsenal Allianz Arena UEFA Champions League (Round of 16) Mar 15 02:00 EST Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal White Hart Lane Premier League Mar 22 02:00 EST Chelsea v Arsenal Stamford Bridge Premier League Mar 29 02:00 EST Arsenal v Manchester City Emirates Stadium Premier League If Arsenal survive February and March...they might have a chance of winning the title However, I'm expecting them to drop points..particularly against Liverpool, us & City.
From what i've heard, Arsenal want Destro (currently playing for Roma) as their backup to Giroud... Wenger's finally spending the cash...should be interesting to see how they go in the next couple of seasons
Mata will definitely improve United's offensive play...but you guys have serious midfield problems. Who's going to partner Carrick in midfield? Fellaini? Jones? the average Cleverley?
The best USA athletes would still choose NBA and Baseball careers over football at the moment... The money factor is part of the reason why alot of USA kids don't choose football
Mourinho signed 2 players that fit his system better than Mata. When Mata was the best player...we had average players like Moses, Benayoun and Marin in the squad
According to the mirror, Arsenal had a bid rejected about 2 weeks ago.. http://soccerlens.com/arsenal-fail-e14m-bid-antoine-griezmann-report/124323/ Interesting tweet by a spanish journo : "Aperribay won’t sell Griezmann for less than his release clause (€30m). Especially after the Illarramendi transfer to Real Madrid" I'd much rather Salah (11-15 mil) than Griezmann for 30 mil
I don't think Moses was shocking..it was more to do with the contract extension Sterling signed towards the end of 2012. The contract extension basically meant that Rodgers has to play Sterling for a certain amount of games every season until 2016...
I strongly believe that Hazard, Oscar & Willian have worked well as a unit. They all know how to track back, unlike Mata Mata as an individual may be more talented than Oscar...but to win games on a consistent basis, your team has to perform well.
I didnt mind the signing of Eto'o because his contract expires at the end of the season. hopefully next season, Lukaku comes back as a better player & leads the line at Chelsea
Unfortunately for Mata, he doesn't fit into Jose's tactics I think Mata will leave at the end of the season...unless someone decides to offer a large sum in January
