  1. I completely agree with your post. A World-class striker would be nice...but we don't need a WC striker provided that...we add a top-class midfielder and a top-class defender. Just look at the impact Martinez has had at Bayern Munich... If we're going to stick with the pivot...Mikel & Ramires isn't good enough. One or both of them will have to make way...if we wanna win the midfield battle against the top sides.
  2. It'll be interesting to see Everton play Martinez's way. That extra bit of grit they had under Moyes is all but gone. Hopefully we get easier wins at Goodison Park from next season onwards...
  3. Wouldn't matter if we did poach their scouts.... players wanna go to porto cause it's a good step up in their development & they always get attention from the media..
  4. This is why I want Torres to follow Rafa and join Napoli....he always plays better under Rafa because he's given confidence and they respect each other. I doubt we'll see a 'happy' Torres under Mourinho...and then all the excuses will come up again as soon as he loses his confidence.
  5. Seeing Cech is a City jersey would be disgusting....and i'm sure they'd pay alot..cause he's much better than Joe Hart can ever hope to be.
  6. I just don't see that working out... I think Courtois will ask to leave in 2015 if he isn't the #1 at Chelsea... Cech is a legend...but I'd be happy to let him go a season early if that means Courtois is given the chance to establish himself for the next decade.
  7. A bit of disruption would of been good for Torres..we need a striker that can challenge him. I still want Cavani...but if he picks City or Madrid over us...then Zlatan is better than just Torres & Ba next season. Also, Zlatan is a big fan of Mourinho..wouldn't surprise me if he did join Chelsea...even though it's unlikely.
  8. Iniesta was highly regarded in the La Masia setup...and due to Barca's strong youth policy, they elevated him to the first team. Iniesta was also helped by the fact that Rijkaard put faith into youngsters.
  9. http://www.goal.com/en-sg/news/3875/transfer-zone/2013/05/27/4007494/chelsea-set-to-secure-van-ginkel-as-mourinhos-first-signing I'd much rather see Chelsea go after Strootman. van Ginkel has talent, there's no question about that...but we need a more experienced player in our midfield, someone that is capable of leading the team.
  10. I don't know if he's better than Cech...but we'll never know if he's "ready" for Chelsea unless we actually give him the chance.
  11. Ivanovic won't leave Chelsea....especially for a team that can't offer UCL football.
  12. I don't see what Mourinho's announcement has to do with Chelsea signing Cavani... If Cavani really wants to play for Chelsea, rather than City or Madrid...then i'm sure we can get a deal done with Napoli..and then announce his signing on the first week of July after we unveil our new manager.
  13. I think Cech can be sold..and the coach will have to make a decision regarding goalkeepers at the end of next season.
  14. The pre-season won't cost us next season..as long as we have the right amount of squad depth. Getting rid of players like Yossi & Marin....and bringing in squad players like Schurrle, maybe KDB will definitely help our three amigos stay fresh next season. And anyway, our reserves and loanees should be playing most of those games in the USA...with our stars coming off the bench when needed.
  15. I wouldn't take it. Luiz is a unique player in so many ways, selling him would be the wrong decision by the club. He brings passion, energy and excitement to our team...I just think letting go of Luiz would negatively impact our chances of signing Brazilian players in the future... As for Torres, anything around £15 million...and we shouldn't have any hesitations.
  16. Don't know about baggage..but Ibra could probably force Torres out of the club! Then..in 2-3 seasons, Ibra would also leave the club...win-win situation.
  17. yea and if reports are to be believed, it was €45m for James Rodriguez, €25m for Moutinho and now €60m on Falcao. It would be funny if Monaco got relegated next season....They'd be known as the richer version of England's QPR.
  18. Out of that list, Borini and Kakuta never got a fair chance at the first team...Hutchinson is quality but unfortunately too injury prone...and the rest of them weren't good enough. Mancienne had ability but he lacked the mental aspect to become a quality CB, never heard of Delac or Tore & PvA is like Gregory Van Der Wiel...good going forward but a liability as a defender.
  19. Mazacar & Luiz are the obvious technically gifted footballers in our team. If De Bruyne gets a chance at Chelsea, he could probably be considered...and Chalobah will be part of that list once he's ready for the first team.
  20. If a club is stupid enough to pay anywhere near 30 million for Torres..we should accept that bid and spend it on a new midfielder!
  21. Fiorentina aren't stupid....or maybe they are if they wanna pay that much for Torres!
  22. I'd understand the Pep factor if he was still Barca Manager...but leaving Dortmund to go and join Bayern is just showing a lack of ambition by both players. They'd rather play it safe, dominate in Germany..instead of going to Spain or England and having a go in a different league.
  23. You can't include Yossi in the deal..cause he's available on a free transfer.
  24. Hopefully your right, come on Rafa...take Nando with you.
  25. Don't think Napoli is the right club for him. Would have been interesting to see Rafa at PSG.
