  1. From the Bilbao games I've seen, there not that great to watch. The only team in La Liga (apart from Real and Barca) capable of making the top 6 in the PL would be Atletico Madrid. Bilbao and Sociedad are good teams but I'm not sure if they'd be able to handle the pace and physicality of the PL over a 38 game season.
  2. If he keeps scoring goals and developing his skill set, he could eventually make it in the premier league. Don't see a future for him at Chelsea....hope we make a profit off his sale
  3. I think we have enough attacking midfielders to fill the RW spot. I'd rather see Chelsea give Moses a proper chance at RW and let Todd Kane develop as Azpi's backup.
  4. Until Torres is sold and/or Lukaku is given a proper chance to play and develop into the striker we need, this thread will be very active. Sturridge's situation at Chelsea was unfortunate. Glad for his career that he moved to LFC, got the confidence of a manager who believes in youngsters and is finally scoring goals and enjoying football. Hopefully he keeps improving and becomes England's #1 centre-forward (not including Rooney) in the not to distant future.
  5. Chalobah should be on loan sooner rather than later... I doubt he'll be part of the youth CL team.
  6. This is probably Arsenal's strongest lineup: Sczeszny Sagna - Kos - Mertesacker - Gibbs ------Wilshere - Ramsey-------- Walcott --- Ozil --- Cazorla -------Giroud----- The problem for Wenger is...can Wilshere & Ramsey control the midfield without a strong, physical midfielder? (like Vieira, Essien etc).
  7. To the original poster, I feel that until January, we will have too much depth. Ba and someone else will leave and that'll leave us with 7 options for 4 positions. My guess (after January): Strikers: Eto'o, Torres, Schurrle (fill in when needed) Attacking Mids: Hazard, Mata/De Bruyne, Willian, Oscar, Schurrle CM's: Ramires, Mikel, Lamps, MvG, Essien
  8. I think for those 3 attacking midfield positions...we'll see Hazard - Mata - Willian as the starters. De Bruyne & Schurrle to play secondary roles...and Oscar to play a bit deeper? Also, it's more like 8 players for 4 positions cause Ba isn't gonna play unless Torres/Eto'o pick up an injury.
  9. http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2013/09/04/galatasaray-sign-portuguese-teenager-bruma-sporting If he develops like he is supposed to...Gala got a bargain. If not, he'll probably end up like Quaresma.
  10. Yeh, but in terms of your example...I doubt United would keep Fabio for pre-season, first few games of the new season and wait until deadline day to loan him out. The problem isn't loaning out Lukaku to Everton, it's a good deal...but the way we did it was wrong If the board/Jose had intentions of bringing in another striker from the start of the window, why keep Lukaku around till deadline day? If we had loaned him out from the start of this season, at least he'd be able to settle into his new club and start understanding the manager's tactics by now...
  11. AvB tried to make the jump from Porto to Chelsea too early in his career. I don't doubt his managerial capability but he needed a season or two at a smaller club, to understand the PL. The same AvB is giving chances to Townsend and Danny Rose at Spurs right now.
  12. How do you know if a youngster is 'ready'? If you don't play a youngster, you'll never know if he's ready or not.
  13. Spuds might actually screw up cause they brought in so many new players. AvB basically created a new midfield and attack. Lack of team chemistry will hurt them this season. I'm expecting Arsenal to finish 4th..IF their key players (Wilshere, Walcott, Arteta) stay fit.
  14. To be fair....most of those players aren't gonna make it. Apart from Courtois and Lukaku..the only players with a real shot at Chelsea's first team are: Atsu, Van Aanholt, Thorgan Hazard (if he keeps developing), Todd Kane (Homegrown) & Wallace (if he develops properly) (I'm assuming Romeu and Marin will get permanent deals in Spain).
  15. Ba is staying because no one wanted to overpay for him. We were asking for 3 million loan fee...and unless you're desperate for an average striker, you're not going to pay that fee.
  16. To be fair, I always thought Eidur had that bit of flair and/or x-factor in him.
  17. Why did we bother to keep Lukaku till deadline day if we were planning on loaning him out? I'm glad he went to Everton and if he doesn't get his chance at Chelsea sooner rather than later, hope he leaves and proves his critics wrong by enjoying football (Like Sturridge at LFC)
  18. United need Fellaini...they've lacked a bit of steel in midfield for a while. Carrick - Fellaini is better than Carrick - Cleverley..
  19. Brilliant poll. I rated it Gudjohnsen rather than Drogba because we failed to strengthen our CM/DM position. And we're overloaded with attacking midfielders.
  20. If Liverpool are stupid enough to let Suarez go on deadline day...all their good transfer business will mean nothing.
  21. As Sportsmail revealed this morning, Demba Ba is a deadline day target for Arsenal. The North London club have made an enquiry to Chelsea. But it is understood Jose Mourinho is reluctant to let the striker leave for one of their top-four rivals. HOPEFULLY WE DON'T STRENGTHEN ARSENAL. Give Ba to Newcastle or West Brom..they need strikers.
  22. Dailymail... BREAKING: PSG match Arsenal's bid for Ozil Paris Saint-Germain have matched Arsenal's offer of £40million for Real Madrid's Mesut Ozil. It looks like we're in for a dramatic few hours.
  23. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2408556/Liverpools-Fabio-Borini-having-medical-Sunderland-ahead-loan-move.html Some good business being done by Liverpool. As for Sunderland...how many more players do you want to sign? No team chemistry.
  24. Whats your issue with Mikel? He's still a useful player to have in the squad.
