See for a backup striker, this might sound daft as fuck but why not look at Gary Hooper.... scored 101 goals in 4 years, probably going to be ridiculed for it but he would have a similar impact to Nikita Jelavic has had at Everton with some service... may play in the SPL but still we want a "cheap alternative" for back up, why not consider him lmao. Only 24 and would count as a homegrown player! Still won't happen but in the right team he would be unreal, hes great in and around the box has a bit of pace and great finishing..... or spend another 50 million on someone

I don't know if Marin, KDB and Hulk are particularly better than Nani and Valencia tbh. Valencia is basically like Hulk but an actual out and out winger, we need someone like him tbh. Hulk is also a risk as he seems to go missing in big games, the Man City games in the Europa League for example. Also Porto want 38 million for him, which won't go down with the FFP rules if we get Hazard in for like 30 million too unless we sell Paulo Ferreria for like 50 million Nani was similar to Hulk a few years ago but has turned himself into a complete winger who can provide assists and score goals. If only we had looked to invest in the likes of Valencia and Nani a few years ago

Have to be honest, I hate all the stick the media give AVB about his time here. It wasn't exactly a disastrous 9 months it was more like 4 months towards the end because some of the players were complete arseholes. I remember the games vs Bolton, Man City, Valencia and Everton especially as we were particularly good, the Man United defeat and draw we were also good its just we conceded goals too early to recover the first one and the draw was a fix if you ask me.
