...or tired. He should of done more though earlier in the game

Why should Paulo take a pay cut to stay at the club? He might not turn it down but he or others in the squad/club might see it as a sign of disrespect towards him. Why treat a player like this? Paulo's experience is vital and he would help Portuguese speaking players bed in to the club or possibly help attract them. Also he may not be the best full back in the league, but he does a bloody good job when hes in the team, true example of a top top pro. Never moans about playing time or anything, just goes in, does what he has to do. If only a few more of the players in the squad were more like this guy.

I thought Malouda, Romeu and Essien were ok today and Bertrand was MOTM by far but Terry and Cahill were also class too. Still fucking pissed off at Sturridge. What a greedy cunt he is.... and when he actually passed it went to an Arsenal player most times.... fucking useless if you ask me. I see why Robbie barely plays him
-
If he wasn't so fucking greedy he would be miles better! He can play killer passes sometimes but all he usually does is dribble, dribble, dribble, get tackled, not track back, dribble, dribble, tackled again, expect Bosingwa to defend... lol
-
Well maybe Sturridge as well, I was hoping Ramires would come on for him though.
-
We must get Bosingwa off as well, my gran could defend better, no offence to her, just saying she could do better than Bosingwa because quite frankly, anyone could....
-
RDM best get Mata on for Kalou/Malouda since Mata isn't going to be able to affect the Barca game as much as this one, he would hopefully unlock Arsenals defense
-
If you want to pay over the odds for this guy then ok, yes he is good but 30-35 million is far too much imo and why would he leave Bilbao when they are having a terrific season and if they keep their current squad together they will going for top 3 or 4 in La Liga?
-
Wow dodgy defending, nobody picking up Koscielny!

Who's Realistically Ready to Step Up?

Yes but there is a difference between a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder... -

Piazon isn't a central mid and Hutchinson isn't a right back. -
As long as we dont get that Kjaer guy its gonna be all good

None of our youngsters have played 30-40 games a reason regularly expect KDB, Lukaku and Courtious so if youngsters are going to be used from our current squad it should be them. Plus Bertrand has had like 150 Championship games so he is ready too -
Played good tonight, always a threat for Barca. They were pissed at his play acting tonight though, tbh it was quality to see Barca get some of their own medicine, the bastards.
-
I don't mind that he is only 5 ft 7 but he should bulk up so he can shrug players off him when hes on the ball more often, as teams are trying to kick and push him out of the game. It was very hard for him to influence the game tonight as well but still everyone who played, deserves some sort of credit, for the collective performance.
-
Next season hopefully Mata will bulk up slightly and work on his right foot so he is even better!
-
Sturridge isn't great going back and doubling up with the fullback though, even though he won't be up often enough but still it is a risk playing him unlike Ramires who has great defensive ability as well as attacking ability, well running forward.
-
What a performance by Cahill and JT tonight. I doubted this lad when he first signed for us but he has put a string of top quality performances in recently and I am absolutely delighted for him supposing he had a really bad game vs Napoli in Italy, hopefully more of this impressive games to come and you never know..... he could be a future Chelsea legend.
-
I have to thank Dani Alves for all that space he left Ramires, so glad we didn't sign him based on his defensive abilities, hes good going forward but leaves more than half the fucking pitch for the opposition. Anyway what a result buzzzzzzzzzin!!!!!!!!!!!! Cmon you Blues!!!!!! Gary Cahill and JT were absolutely unreal, great to see Gary playing great.. tbh I doubted him when he first moved but what a sensational signing hes turning out to be! Not through yet and its going to be a difficult game at the Nou Camp but if we play together as a unit like that, why can't we go through? KTBFFH!
-
Buzzing for this! Cmon you blues!! I also hope Sergio Busquets gets sent off or just drop kicked by Raul
-
Dont really think Bales as good as people make out and the likes of Bosingwa and Ferreira have stopped him playing well against us but if Spurs are daft enough to give us Bale and Modric for 30 million and Bosingwa I will be happy. Lol. Imagine that hahaha, best deal ever.
-
5-1. Best team in London. Case closed. Cmon you Blues!
-
Bosingwa and Paulo Ferreira have effectively stopped him from playing good against us. No thanks.
-
Hmm suppose, wish Makalele was like 10 years younger and still playing for us. He was effectively a deep lying player and defensive midfielder!
-
I forgot about the 25 man squad thing writing that tbh lol anyway aren't some of the youth players able to be classed as B team players or is that only in the CL? Anyway.. Dembele isn't really a striker, hes plays in the hole behind the striker/attacking midfield, he is creative and seriously underrated imo. Lavezzi is able to play upfront but he would be a good option to provide width in our squad. Maybe another defensive midfielder isn't top of our shopping list but Mikel isn't consistent enough and isn't as mobile as Tiote is, plus some think Mikel isn't good enough. If we were to play 2 holding players we would need another holding player as Meireles isn't disciplined enough to play there and Lampard is clearly much better in an attacking role. I think we should recall Jeffrey from Hamburg next year as he has undoubted potential and with JT and Branna getting older he would provide good competition in the squad and since Branna is played at RB more than CB, we will probably need another body for cover. Also I'm sure Lavezzi and Dembele would provide some creativity and would be able to take the weight off Mata's shoulders, as he was coming up with the answers earlier this season AND if De Bruyne, Lampard, Meireles, Benayoun and Ramires could provide assists and or just create chances more in general we would be doing alright. I reckon they are all capable of providing chances for team mates and themselves but its just getting them to do it consistently so it is noticeable. And Cabaye, as good a player as he is, I don't think he'd move one year in to his contract at Newcastle. If he did, he would also provide some creativity but playing him as a deeper midfielder would be pointless as he is more a box to box midfielder rather than a defensive midfielder like Tiote.
