Not sure if its been stated at all but if we see looking for a LB, regardless of Cucu going or whatever, Andy Robertson on a free for 1 or 2 seasons surely wouldn’t be a bad punt? Looked miles better everytime he played than that donkey Kerkez they signed to replace him from what I had seen. I’m assuming he will be too old for BlueCo though. Apparently has chosen his next move and they reckon he is London bound, Spurs were there in January so maybe them? But wouldn’t be opposed if we threw our hat in the ring. Palmer had better stats and performances under Poch playing centrally. He was meant to be an all round midfielder, dictating games, getting round the pitch, whatever else like did at Benfica (well like he apparently did!). Time and time again he hasn’t shown this when playing as a 6 or 8. Would rather see Palmer more centrally in that role Enzo has been utilised in, might get him back to his best alongside this prolonged summer break he’ll get. For £106million to get 12-18 months of decent performances, I don’t see the uproar, we’ve lost a lot better calibre of players to Madrid in Robben, Hazard & Rudiger. Good luck to him also, Mourinho will undoubtedly prefer the likes of Valverde, Camavinga, Tchouameni & Bellingham due to their physical as well as technical attributes so wouldn’t be surprised if its a move that doesn’t necessarily work from the off. Jose hasn’t changed either he still values the physical qualities in his players.

Not surprised with Tuchel’s squad. Mostly guys who were part of the camps in qualifying where they won every game and barely conceded anything IIRC. Maguire’s statement is pathetic, Tuchel said he was 5th choice in the last camp where he was only picked due to injuries. Pick your lip up, decision is justified, he wouldn’t be under consideration if Amorin hadn’t been sacked and kept him on the bench anyway. Plus Carrick’s side not exactly solid either. Not taking Wharton & Hall is the only bad decisions he made I think, both had pretty good seasons. I don’t see why people thought Palmer or Foden would go given how average/poor they were this season. Mainoo snuck in at the end also but think he could’ve missed out for Wharton.

I’d imagine James & Gusto will be more than sufficient on the right side regardless of the system. Left side is going to be the big issue though because we will really need to replace Cucurella who is likely off & decide whether Hato is going to be better suited to playing as a LB, LWB, LCB - again all depending on the system. Lewis Hall seems to be mentioned a lot this week. The Barco deal is also sounding like a formality. Both players who are versatile. For CBs - I would say at least one quality centre back will have to come in either way given the collection we have. I’d like us to get 2. If we go to a back 3 I think we would probably need to get 2 CBs in then anyway given the likelihood that players like Badiashile & Tosin are probably (& deservedly) goners & you will need to have options. Maybe we could get away with Fofana being put in as that right handed CB in a back 3 but still wouldn’t trust him in a pair. Granted our options will be limited. Plus still have serious doubts the recruitment will be any different to how it has been so we will see.

Don’t see why the club or anyone are that arsed if he goes to City. He didn’t have much of a connection with the fans. They had clauses in his contract for him to inform them if he was going to speak to other clubs. So they obviously were prepared to let him go at some point - its just they’ve got egg on their face and terms weren’t in the clubs favour. If they were that bothered they wouldn’t have been so stubborn, they’d of tried to meet him in the middle. But they didn’t. Same with Poch. Same with Tuchel. Pointless exercise that will be a distraction or rumble on to the point nobody will give a fuck anyway. Particularly when they are looking to start afresh/with a new approach…. Be same again situation again in 12 months no doubt when they fall out with Alonso.

To be fair, with his personality and demeanour when he has that ice in his veins, he is one of the only managers out there who could handle it. Certainly be interesting. Question is does he still have the energy and fire to go toe to toe with those egos? He still has a similar standing in the game to Ancelotti. Just runs a dressing room the polar opposite way. Depends. If the cash is right they’ll do it because thats all they care about. A potential replacement is already arriving on a free transfer from Strasbourg. Not to mention, Jackson is returning. Plus what if he looks at it and wants to go? I would say trying to sell the club to any player in its current state compared to the likes of a Barcelona or Madrid is going to be pretty hard. These kind of serious, ruthless big clubs will smell blood this summer, they’ll look at where we finished in the league, level of/lack of European football etc and if theres someone they want make a big move. Would stop using the words “top quality” when discussing replacements also. Will not be happening.

Thats not going to happen with these sporting directors or owners though regardless of noise or eternal optimism. How many managers have we appointed since Tuchel and how many have gotten to handpick 1 player yet alone 3 or 4 players? It won’t change, they are fucking idiots. He is probably the best coach out there in terms of the names linked to the club. I have no doubt, if he has asked for more control, they will be widening the net specifically to ask other candidates if they’d be willing to continue working within the current structure. Then find one, appoint them and rise and repeat.

There is one positive, Gary O’Neill just shot himself in the foot openly criticising BlueCo so would say he’s out of the running 😂

But manager/head coaches aren’t important or essential to success according to BlueCo 🤓 Cucurella, Enzo, Palmer, Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, Malo Gusto probably would be guys with suitors/wanting to leave. Most would get CL level clubs. Would maybe be a few bigger clubs who’d chance Caicedo/James but they signed new deals somehow…

What needs to change? The whole lot from top to bottom. There is too much mediocrity and lack of everything essential that a football club needs, from the owners all the way down to the players. It all started the day they sacked Thomas Tuchel. In fact, maybe even before that actually when Marina & Petr decided to leave. Need a complete reset in every aspect, every department - literally everything - but who has 1) £5bn sitting around to buy the club 2) knowledge of owning/running a successful football club 3) network of highly competent footballing people 4) the remaining money needed to run a football club each year for a prolonged period Mental we are talking about needing new ownership and a full reset after 4 years (some of us were onto it a lot, lot sooner). BlueCo’s ownership has basically ripped through this club like a cancer. They really are like a horrible, horrible disease. Not just here but also in France, notoriously not liked. Never will be. But they’ll milk it dry then sell it but by then I’d be surprised if we are even in the PL. Nobody seems to care from the top to bottom, embarrassing really. I mean even the players sitting on 6/7/8 years deals - always going to outlive any manager good or bad and its a disgrace. Eghbali is going nowhere anytime soon and arguably he’s the biggest issue now. It appears he is calling the shots, hired the sporting directors etc. Boehly won’t be chairman from next year if I remember correctly, could possibly be bought out by Eghbali/Clearlake.
