  1. Regardless of who picks the philosophy or whatever, the next manager has to be the right one that fits whatever direction the club want to go. Ideally it would be Pep but again I don't think Pep will come here, I feel his style has also gotten to the point where even at Bayern they are starting to regress slightly which has me worrying. Mourinho was never going to have us playing brilliant attacking football, even with the squad we have, anyone who thought we'd be able to maintain the style from the first 12 games of last season has to be serious it was Jose in charge, it wouldn't last. The last few years the recruitment has been good, Emenalo has been a big part of that, obviously they had a bigger picture for Chelsea regarding the style and philosophy but Mourinho was never going to have his team playing that overly expansive football week in week out, its just not his forte, they wouldn't be exactly on the same page.
  2. Bielsa is not a good option. We need a long term option. Bielsa has had mixed success on the international level but I think his achievements at club level have been poor. He seems to last a year or two then quit/resign/get sacked. No point going for him or even Sampaoli, who speaks no English and has very little success at club level too. The next move has got to be 100% right, no more AVBs or Di Matteos.
  3. A new technical director? Fuck sake are people really taking Mourinho's sacking this badly? I think people need to remember its Chelsea FC and not Mourinho FC. We were 16th.... And also to anyone saying we should follow 'City's blueprint for success' are you fucking serious? I'd prefer we followed what we were doing the last few years than aspire to do what City have done....for a start they replaced Mancini because he finished second. Then they have always bought poorly in terms of age for squad building. They throw money at things, they aren't following a long term plan, they aren't bringing young players through. We might not be taking young players through but you look at what we've bought since 2010 in terms of age for building a squad (although not all of them are here now) and its guys like David Luiz, Oscar, Hazard, Piazon, Romeu, Baba, Courtois, De Bruyne, Schurrle, Azpi, Zouma, etc... under 25 years old, who can have resale value as well as the chance to give us 7-10 years worth of continuity in the squad.
  4. To be fair last season he was the best player in the Premier League by a mile. Who cares if hes not Messi, Ronaldo or Neymar. They are probably 3 of the best 5 players in the world.
  5. I think he would be an excellent option in our squad, when hes played regularly he has always delivered with goals. His movement is exceptional, as well he seemed to always score against us even with his face...
  6. I cant see us getting him. I was listening to BBC 5 Live and that Spanish football expert Graham Hunter was saying that Pep was very close to signing for Man United during his playing days and having gone to Old Trafford to manage teams playing against United, he feels United would be very much the ideal club for him to go to. He also said that Pep wants to manage Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar. I generally do think he sees Man Utd as his perfect club, as they are (lets be honest) similar to Barcelona and Bayern with their world wide reputation as a super club, the history all three clubs have and also the traditions they have regarding good football and the use of their academies. If we got him though I would be delighted but I think that ship has sailed.
  7. Sacking him was the right thing to do, he has absolutely destroyed moral in the dressing room, it was so obvious to see. You cant do that and expect to remain in the job, no matter who you are even if you are Jose Mourinho, the most successful manager in the clubs history or a rookie. I've seen several tweets from fans complaining about the antics of Costa, Matic, Hazard and Fabregas in particular and talk of player power again but Mourinho caused all the problems. Hes always seemed to push at Hazard a lot and it worked in the first two seasons and improved him but he has a tendency where he eventually manages to fracture relationships with high profile players, I mean look at what happened with Ronaldo, Ramos, Pepe and Casillas at Real Madrid in his last year. Its more than evident that has happened here with guys like Eden, Costa, JT, Ivanovic all for different reasons. Its no coincidence that we looked 10000 times better in 45 minutes yesterday than we have in about 4 months under Mourinho.
  8. Hazard played better than him while operating in the false 9 role, still needs to grow at Spurs before he would be good enough for ourselves or Utd/City.
  9. Think he will start banging them in now, was a matter of scoring the first goal, he is a goalscorer and I would certainly have him here if it was possible.
  10. I was intrigued Mourinho kept him especially after people on here were saying he was like Hulk sort of, being very one footed, holds the ball too long, looks to shoot a lot and selfish but he's been a bit of a wild card for us, he is unpredictable, a very much unknown quality and so far he has looked decent despite the limit minutes. I remember Mourinho making comments about Benfica picking up Anderson Talisca last summer and hinting that he'd be in England if it weren't for a work permit (apparently we tried signing him and wanted to loan him to Vitesse) so maybe he sees Kenedy as a similar sort of buy, very much unknown, relatively cheap but with a bit of potential.
  11. People saying hes gone after playing for the under 21s? Ridiculous. He was probably just playing for match fitness more than anything and the fact he is a very good player and eligible to play as well. He wouldn't have gotten a squad place and not loaned out if he was going to play for the u21s really. Hes the best talent we have along with Boga and Musonda in my eyes, although hes played much more first team football than them in a higher division, I think he has a better chance of making it than those 2 as well.
  12. Ffs not Hulk again. The most overrated footballer that has probably been linked to Chelsea for god knows how many years.
  13. Are Chelsea fans honestly saying they hope he gets a 5 match ban and that? Lol
  14. Think if he didn't go to Spurs and went to Liverpool or someone else he'd be on loan in the Championship. The same with Ryan Mason and Alex Pritchard or whatever his name is. Interesting to see Pochettino use guys who played League 1 and Championship in his side.
  15. Wasn't an issue when we had a 30M Sheva or Joe Cole or Ballack on the bench years ago or even Cech on the bench last year. If we can get very good players to boost the squad I am all for it, creates more competition and we might actually see some rotation. I bet Jose is reluctant to rotate players like Matic too regularly for guys like Ruben.
  16. True but I liked him playing RB in the CL with Baba on the left although Ivanovic did improve on his return to the team v Arsenal so as long as Baba plays on the left I'm not fussed who plays on the right.
  17. I think the one thing when Oscar plays for us is that the midfield players link better together, he usually is key to that but he still needs to improve his goals/assists and also at times he can still have a better impact on games.
  18. Would be nice to see Begovic Azpi Zouma JT Baba Cesc Ruben Pedro/Traore Oscar Kenedy Falcao/Remy
  19. He is comfortably better than all 3 of them and a different sort of midfield player, hes genuinely able to play as a defensive midfielder unlike Marco and Ruben who are probably better as box to box players. Not too sure about Chalobah, don't think he has a chance of making it here now. Would take him, think hes still got to improve in certain aspects but I seen him at Celtic and he was always a huge talent, playing him next to Matic would be awesome. He cost Celtic 900K, they sold him for about 13 or 14 M or something.. crazy.
  20. Well you don't win trophies with a squad of 25 nice, friendly, non aggressive, not willing to step over the line at times players. You need a few provocative bastards in there. Ivanovic, Matic, JT, heck even Ramires and Costa aren't exactly angels. You wont win much with a squad of 25 Mikel Artetas or 25 Joe Allens.
  21. Ok we never really had the chance to sign any of them in the past and now we certainly don't at all so please name me a striker as good as those 3 who isn't a cunt and would be better than Costa..... without actually naming those 3? You can't do it really. Benzema maybe but even then he blows hot and cold and when it gets tough for Madrid hes never anywhere to be seen.
  22. Haha yeah... But to put it into context: if you asked any Liverpool fans about Suarez they just talk about his goals and how good he was, not his racism charge, not him biting people, not him sticking his finger up to Fulham fans, not him diving, not him being a bit of a cunt when he wanted to be. Or Man United fans about Cantona... I know this is Liverpool and United we are talking about but again I'd have taken Suarez here despite the baggage because hes brilliant and I'm sure back in the days we would have been very happy to get Cantona too. Costa top player, best CF we've had in years, plays on edge yes but end of the day who could we replace him with? There aren't very many high level strikers out there these days.
  23. Okay lets bring back Torres and sell Costa and go back to the good old days of having a little bitch upfront who was pretty much useless in games where they got a bit more physical or gritty. The one solution to solve this.
  24. People are saying if we kept him in January... its not like he'd of been in our first 11 then to be fair...lets be honest here, the picture was pretty clear after that cup game and when he was told to train with the kids. He had Mata, Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard, Willian to compete with. Mata made a slightly miraculous recovery - well if you'll call it that, although he didn't feature that much as many, myself included, hoped he would - after it seemed he was deemed surplus to requirements and would be moved on, where as Kev didn't, could have stayed but didn't (the same with Mata). I doubt Jose regrets selling him/not playing him because he was a different player in 2013/14 than he is now.
