  1. Wouldn't say they need attacking players though like you highlighted, they are doing what we did when we kept buying attacking players: Mata, Marin, De Bruyne, Oscar, Schurrle, Willian in so many windows when we really lacked a top midfielder to solidify the team. They still lack a another center back and another central midfielder. They can score as many goals as they want but they will concede especially when you consider Sterling and Silva will definitely play and they are very lazy off the ball. Toure is clearly one of those guys who can make the difference but doesn't always do the work he should. Even then they have Nasri as well who has never been the sort of guy to do that either. In contrast, Barcelona have some front three but they are so good and balanced in midfield and defence too. Rakitic-Busquets-Iniesta very solid and dependable midfield in front of a back four that has improved after a few dismal campaigns where they looked weak. Football is about balance as much as anything these days. If you can't defend your going to concede silly goals and lose points. City are like Arsenal in the way they will play this one style stubbornly because they believe it's the right way but you can't play like that 38 games a season, they don't have the right balance in their team in my opinion so I think we are still favorites because we can play like we did in the second half of the season last year and grind games out.
  2. Knee jerk signings? Sorry but Koke is near enough on the verge of developing into a world class player in my eyes. I couldn't give a shit if it blocks Pasalic and MvG's path into the team because quite frankly you don't turn down the chance to sign such a good player for two guys (although MvG should be in the 25 man squad ahead of RLC in my eyes) who perhaps aren't first team ready... although Marco could be a squad player. We need more than a left back, Koke would be able to play as a CM in a 4-3-3 or on the right wing in a 4-2-3-1. Would prefer Pedro for the right wing but Koke is also very good and is a very rounded player who can easily replicate his Atletico form there.
  3. Apparently he is on a £18,000 a week contract.... what the fuck. Also Josh McEachran was earning £38,000 a week contract according to a Neil Ashton article I found on twitter on my phone earlier. Maybe the reason none of these guys break through our academy is we give them too much too soon?
  4. What sort of advice is that, you trying to make the guy look like a dick? Or one of those nonces on made in chelsea? More like it..... fortunately I've never lived in Glasgow and hopefully never will, where this is apparently a regular occurrence by the cunts who dont do anything, fucking tramps. Vodka vodka vodka vodka vodka vodka. If you don't want to remember anything anyway. Beer is decent to start but fuck drinking that for a whole night. Would also say sambuca, can't beat shots of that but wouldn't go excessively crazy way them either as well as jager bombs haha.
  5. Left winger... we don't need a left winger....
  6. We dont want him to go out on loan. So probably play for the u21s... seeing as Brown is off to Vitesse.
  7. 30M for a guy who firstly is a top player, scores and makes goals, beats men and can play a variety of positions.... go for it we need another top player for a wide position to use Willian as a 10 imo.
  8. S H I T E 27M plus loaning Salah to Fiorentina, who outperformed him.... we got ripped off. People who said he would be better than Willian, where are yous now? Never mind him apparently having good end product like was argued, he can't even fucking dribble lmao.
  9. Absolute fucking dross. We need another player to boost our starting 11 before the season starts. If we play like this in the league we will be absolute pish, so much predictability about our play. Fair to say someone like Matiudi or Herrera or some rounded player in that mold who has legs or Oscar or even Ramires being played in a 4-3-3 like under AVB. Fair to say Matic-Fabregas lacks speed and sometimes we lack 3rd man runs when we have the ball in wide areas and crossing positions. Or sign a top wide player and use Willian as a 10, its fair to say Cuadrado is the worst footballer we've bought since Torres. Even after half a season its fair to say that. Falcao also shite tonight.
  10. Seen bits and bots, didn't look that exciting, decent going forward weak defensively. Precisely like Rose but Rose is slightly better in both aspects.
  11. Well hes better than Baba but still pretty shite.
  12. No its not. A trophy is a trophy. Pre-season games fine but Community Shield is one week before the PL season starts, boys should be up for it and try to win it for sure. Its not much but still nice wee boost going into the season, its only a shit trophy but okay its a trophy which is better than no trophies.
  13. The point is not whether it should be a trophy or not. Since it is a trophy, we should take it serious and try winning it, the point is not whether it is a plate your allowed with extra substitutes. The same with the Club World Cup, the European Super Cup... doesn't matter if they are meaningful or not, they are trophies and trophies at the end of the day are there to be won so why shouldn't we?
  14. I know but the point is every trophy or even every rival game we should look to win no matter what.
  15. Perhaps but I doubt anything can ever go that wrong again. Surely not.
  16. Yeah obviously but its a trophy still. Slightly more competitive game than a dead rubber pre-season game in USA isn't it? Its not much but trophies a trophy and against Arsenal a big rival, still a high stake in my eyes. Saying its basically just a friendly is just to cover in case we lose in my eyes... It is a trophy though. No exaggeration at all. Yes but 2012, who was our coach Di Matteo? Jose is a winner and he will always take every opportunity to win any trophies he can. Its like saying losing the Super Cup to Atletico and Bayern meant nothing but if we won it people would of been happy we did. Would rather we won it and not Arsenal, as should yous and as would Jose. No point writing it off as a friendly because we lost.
  17. Not every striker who suffers a huge injury is Torres though, which it seems like what you and other members seem to be thinking. He had a poor year at United, where in theory they had a mixed year, different formations, partnerships, never had a settled team to the last 3 or 4 months etc but honestly he still looked different from the sort of guy we are seeing here. He struggled with his fitness a lot last season too, which after a year out as well doesn't help. Not making excuses as I wasn't so sure of signing him but he is a good replacement for Drogba at least and he should be given a chance, a striker is judged on goals, his movement looks promising so who knows? We start finding him and he gets matches who knows, 10 goals minimum from the bench and rotation? Good to have.
  18. You can call it a meaningless match all you want but it was a trophy at stake. Trophies a trophy. I'm sure he will let them know that. You can tell he doesn't like losing, he threw his runners up medal into the crowd. He obviously wanted to win. Losing it to Wenger? Even worse haha.
  19. Well he has never been someone who has created chances or excelled at dribbling in particular. If you thought he was the complete footballer, hes not, hes a typical 9, a poacher... if he gets crosses/throw balls etc like at Atletico and Porto he will score goals. Its hardly like the Torres thread... I was against signing him but he is nowhere near as much of a last cause as Torres. Think there is a severe overreaction because of what he did or should I say didn't do at United last year.
  20. Means fuck all as well if he makes a run and isn't found/seen. The same with Costa and Remy too. To say his movement means fuck all is wrong if the pass doesn't come, if he doesn't make a run for a dangerous pass/cross ok but its not like that. His biggest strength and attributes has always been finishing and getting into goal scoring positions. Torres' was his pace and finishing before he went shite. Falcao's is his movement but since its his movement it also requires that he is being found by team mates to score goals. Not saying its an excuse but you look at him playing here so far and hes always moving.
  21. Torres came to us having his knee cartilage removed to play the 2010 WC, when he was already physically on the wane as well. More hope for Falcao than Torres. He is less a risk than Torres was in my eyes although we could of got another player in because last season he was ordinary. Still his movement is top notch, he gets on the end of things like at Atletico and Porto regularly and he will stick them in.
  22. He won't like having lost his record, hopefully he will get another wide man or a 10 and a CM so we can improve our first 11 again. Think one top player that fits in to either a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 and we will be nailed on to retain the title as long as Matic, Cesc and Diego stay relatively fit.
  23. Think with Torres maybe could be argued for but style was changed to suit him. Benitez seemed to have the team play a lot more towards him too but yeah with Falcao, Remy and Costa I agree. Still times when Hazard although not as often as Oscar and Willian hold on to it for too long, when they could look and slip these guys in.
  24. Fuck me Cuadrado has the worst haircut I've ever seen.
  25. People can say he is shite in big games but he is the only player we have in that sort of profile, someone who controls the game, a deep lying playmaker. We lose him and we don't have someone who can play great accurate long passes for strikers/wingers to expose high defenses, maybe Matic but not in the same ilk in terms of long passing.
