Regular? Okay he played a lot when Modric and James were injured but usually only ended up playing out wide as well when Real played that 4-4-2 formation. Hes a number 10, hes better than Oscar, when he gets the ball he makes things happen, even if its just beating a few players and opening up passing lanes to give the ball to other players or retaining the ball in extremely tight areas under pressure, he is too talented to sit on the bench. Sign him up. Who wouldn't want a change where they could be a regular, just look at van der Vaart, Raul, Ozil, Di Maria and now even Casillas is considering leaving Real Madrid... sure they are a huge club but one year you could be the big name then the next year your a bench player, I don't see why so many players decide to go there actually.

Why is everyone saying phew or glad hes signed a new deal. If he isn't good enough to play for us then would Alexis Sanchez not be either? Hes every bit just as good and was in fact better when he played regularly under Pep. We are crying out for a RW after signing the steaming pile of crap that is Cuadrado but all of a sudden Pedro isn't good enough or we should be more ambitious, look for better options? Considering the guy is in his best years, is two footed, plays both sides and has a goal in every 3 games for Barca... I don't know if there are very many better right wingers available these days at such a price. We don't need 17-23 year old players, we need guys who are in their best years, who can improve what we have like we did when we signed Costa and Fabregas last year.
-
Well those many who would prefer him are obviously daft. Seeing as how Stones has featured more as a right back for England than a center back when guys like Jagielka and Jones play much more regularly in that position than him... also have you considered Cahill is the best English CB that is picked for England.... Stones isn't even better than Chris Smalling who is another one who has he has improved significantly under van Gaal this year.

Firmino was a decent in the Bundesliga but I have no idea about how good he will be for Liverpool. Coutinho is vastly overrated.
-
People have been saying that since after his first season. If there was more to come from him then we'd have already seen it surely. I don't think he has performed better than his game vs Juventus... in 3 seasons....
-
If that's 'good news' then I don't know what good news is, hes been one of the most disappointing players we've signed in the last few years that has actually held down a regular spot in my eyes. A number 10 who hasn't been particularly very creative or consistent, if that's good news then... I'm not completely sure. I'm not saying I wouldn't keep him but if it was a good offer for quite a limited player then I'd take it and invest in someone else definitely, there are better 10s out there and even then we don't need to play with a 10 if we go to a 4-3-3.
-
There's thinking a player is good but then there's blowing smoke out their arse. Hes still nowhere near Chelsea level. He's probably not even the best CM we have out on loan, I'd comfortably say van Ginkel is. There's no point arguing this though but I think most would agree that hes not at Chelsea level just now. I don't see why you say if he were English he'd probably be playing ahead of Mikel or Ramires, when both didn't really play as much as they have before as both of their roles were actually minimized due to the Matic-Fabregas combination in the middle of the park.
-
They've already signed Khedira, Dybala, Mandzukic and Rugani and will no doubt keep on recruiting to replace Vidal, Ogbonna and whoever as well if they lose them. They aren't going to struggle considering Mandzukic and Khedira are top players and they also have that young winger/striker Berardi on their books who looks a pretty decent player as well as the recently signed Dybala who is promising. They have always recruited and replaced well since returning to Serie A. If we get rid of Ramires or Oscar and reverted to a 4-3-3 I'd take him here.
-
Yeah I've heard hes a better footballer than Nathan so if hes shit then its fair to say Nathan wasn't worth buying either isn't it.
-
You clearly underrate him. He oozes class, sure he didn't score a lot of goals or have lots of assists this season that just finished but his general play and understanding of playing for the team is huge. The season Atletico won the league he was brilliant, hes a leader, basically all the games Atletico play against Real Madrid he is always trusted with the role of man marking Ronaldo which he does pretty well considering Ronaldo is a world class player and also a freak athlete. I'd have him here in a heart beat, I remember when we were linked with him in 2011 under AVB, he was a promising younger player but didn't quite have the work rate, discipline or tenacity to play at a top team, he clearly does now and I would take him. Hes clearly a better footballer than Willian, Oscar and Cuadrado.

Who gives a fuck we aren't Spain.
-
Wouldn't be a bad move if he got games there.
-
He won't. I just don't get the whole hes a cunt thing for him being on the edge.
-
Aye the bloke only left us to join our direct title rivals 2 years after becoming the top goal scorer at the club, if you want a lesson in how to lose a bit of respect well that and the whole no loan with New York thing is a prime example of how to do so, I was seeing screen captures of their forums and some fans were saying they weren't keen on him going after the whole thing.
-
Against Real Madrid as well in the CL. Scored v QPR in that game the year they first won the title too, think it was the equalizer. Scores big goals.
-
Cantona kicked a fucking fan in the ribs but was a mighty fine footballer loved by many fans all over the world. Costa can do the same if he wants as long as he produces the goods in all honesty, we signed him to score goals and if he does that and wants to act cuntish on the pitch, won't complain. As long as hes not taking drugs like Mutu don't really care.
-
Vision is poor? Decision making poor? Mate give up. Oscar's biggest weakness is that hes a number 10 who struggles to create goal scoring opportunities.
-
Age shouldn't matter. You'd expect midfield players to take risks in trying to create chances for others to score or others to assist. He looked slightly tentative at times like I said, never criticized him apart from that and possibly positioning but thats really an experience thing.
-
They would of had him on a new contract if they offered it to him in the summer, he said it himself. I meant they are a small club because they are forced to sell their best players not because they don't need them like us with Mata, Luiz, Schurrle etc but because they don't win anything.
-
Liverpool are such a small club. Selling Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Suarez and now Sterling in the last 5 or 6 years.... as well as failing to keep Gerrard.
-
Don't see the issue, hes a top top player, he also loves to get stuck in and is an absolute cunt to everybody who isn't a Chelsea player. Whats not to fucking love?
-
12m euros would be a very smart investment. Allows Jose to then sell one of Oscar, Ramires or Mikel if he really wants to. I think if we get him we can play 4-3-3 a lot more.
-
Looks very, err whats the word, tentative at times? Playing with the shackles on slightly. I know he can see the bigger picture from seeing him play in the u21s but again sometimes the thing that makes you stand out is sometimes the fact you take risks when you are say 10 v 11 or 3-0 down or when it doesn't look possible or whatever but he didn't.

Its not hard to constantly stand around one player for 90 minutes. Lets be honest. If that was difficult then how come Lampard did it against Gerrard too despite being several years older and probably not as well in physical shape or condition as Oscar is. Its nothing to do with vast footballing intelligence or versatility, its to do a job that any player could do, you do that job and you basically sacrifice your own game to do it. He could of asked Willian, Hazard, Lampard, Mikel, Ivanovic, Brian the Go Compare robot... anyone who is able to follow basic instructions. Its not like he was asked to man mark a great player like say Ronaldo like who Arda Turan was asked to mark or Messi who has whole teams playing so defensively to nullify him, is it? It was Gerrard and Pirlo, playing in the center of the pitch, in front of the center backs.... not players who can pop up basically anywhere in the opposition half and can score from virtually anywhere within 30 yards. Against Juventus it was a different story because he did stuff going forward but when he hasn't produced much recently its pretty ridiculous to say "he hasn't produced this or that recently but oh he can run about and mark mark a 37 year old man because he listened to the coaches instructions" because I am not a professional footballer but I can run about and stand on the toes of a 37 year old man if I was told to do so. It doesn't make him a more valuable or better footballer than Isco. Hes a 10, 10s are known for chances created, goals, assists, intelligence, technique, etc etc. Isco is a better footballer.

Yeah fair enough as long as us Scots win something!
