I think this could actually be a very good move. He has come on leaps and bounds, I still remember being at Tynecastle watching Liverpool play Hearts (got free tickets through work, not exactly glamorous I know but haha) and seeing him play then under Brendan Rodgers and I am quite utterly surprised hes made it to the level hes made it to. There's no doubt about it now though he is an exciting player and probably AC Milan's key man. I think if we could get him for 40M euros like its being reported, it would be a shrewd move and it would offer an alternative to Willian and Pedro.

Suppose if this is true, the next week or two, will give us the moment of truth. I generally think he has his mind set on leaving but that is a very very good offer and I think coupled with Sarri, Jorginho, a few other players coming in.. he could be persuaded. Doesn't help that Courtois has also said he goes where Eden goes, if it was a joke it wasn't a very good one fair enough but just an odd comment to make considering I think Hazard is more important to the club than he is, although he is a world class level GK. Martinez as well stirring the pot saying he could be the main player of any project for any club in the world...

Mixed performance yesterday but the guy just deserves to be on the winning side, never mind being a key part of it. Absolutely outstanding achievement and its testament to the trajectory of his career as well, even Giroud who like Kante played in the lower divisions of French football, an amazing achievement. Just shows that hard work is vitally as important as talent and even looking at Pogba for France he is 10 times the player for them than United and I think its almost purely because of Kante. Can't wait to see him with Jorginho as well, also I think Sarri like Conte did, will get him to improve even more with the ball. The £30M or whatever he cost, was an absolute bargain.
-
I think as well everyone is well aware about him making short quick passes setting the tempo but the guys also got an outstanding 30-40 metre pass on him and it was a huge element of Napoli's play as well. I generally can't wait to see him and Cesc playing in this team, with all the movement it really should have in forward areas, it will be a dream for the pair of them.
-
Its a shame how it ended but the guy has got so much class. He could have taken a parting shot, he was sacked after one day of pre-season work, which is quite ridiculous but he didn't. He had a moan and groan last season and I honestly expected something similar in this statement or a double ended sword of some sorts but testament to the guy he didn't and I think the majority of the fans will miss him. Its a pity last season didn't work out because we all know how good the first year was. Best of luck to him as well, guys an outstanding manager and 2 seasons in England he has given a lot not only to the PL but European football as a whole, just look at how many teams have all of a sudden reignited playing 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. Even England? They kept talking about Pep influencing Gareth Southgate, him picking his brain etc but I generally seen more of a Conte influence in that team than a Pep one, a team that would work hard, play to its strengths and as he would usually say "were prepared to suffer" when they had to. That Everton game is probably the best I've seen us play in years and I don't think many will top it, although I have big hopes for Sarri.
-
Honestly regarding price range, I think the signing of Jorginho indicates change and also a belief in the new manager and his philosophy (sounds stupid typing it but obvious haha). As well as that we are after Higuain, Rugani and Alisson who will all cost a lot of money, particularly for a 30 year old and a GK. I think if Sarri has said he wants him, he will get him, same with Higuain, Rugani and Alisson. Lets see though, I have no doubts that Golovin will be a good player but Milinkovic-Savic will be an outstanding player in 2 or 3 years and if we can get him for anything between 70-100M we should quite rightly be in for him (markets been fucked for years but say 10 years ago he'd probably cost about 40m or so).
-
Yeah I think the Europa will give us a chance to use younger guys but at the same time I think Sarri will very much want to win it or be under the assumption that he has to win it. As much as we'd all like to see youth be used, like I said I still don't think RLC fits Sarri's system. He needs another move, I heard Everton wanted him, which would be an exciting chance for him to play more often and also under a manager like Marco Silva who we seen how impressive Richarlison was under him although he is still very raw and for me, not a top level talent. Mason Mount though? Perhaps he would fit in here but I think it would be stupid to keep a kid that talented to be kicking his heels about the majority of the time.
-
He didn't kick up a fuss in the first season under Conte and more importantly he forced himself into the team. He is a professional, regardless of what people think of him, he has never complained at being on the bench while here but instead always opted to say he will try force himself in and he did. His legs aren't what they used to be but he still can provide plenty to this team, selling him would be a huge mistake in my eyes. He is in a similar place to what Hamsik was in at Napoli, aging, people unsure if he could replicate his performances under a new manager, same old usual stuff but I think Sarri as a football manager who loves offensive football will love having an option like Cesc in his squad, in terms of technique and vision there aren't many MF players on the same level as him, so open him up in a team with 4/5 passing options, lots of interchanging, attacking intent and movement off the ball? He will definitely be useful from the start or from the bench. I don't think people appreciate what he can still offer because in a more reactive team with a 2 man MF he was too easily bypassed but in a 3 man MF with Jorginho and Kante? He will have more freedom, more licence to influence the play higher up the pitch because somebody is building from deeper (Jorginho). Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he replicates his level from that first year we signed him. People talk about finally getting an offensive minded manager to free Eden up or whatever but Cesc could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Sarri coming in.

Before anyone says it as well this was not Conte's fault. Starting to see some dickhead on twitter posting stuff along the lines of Conte sabotaged last season knowing Eden would want out. Some idiots will grasp at anything huh.
-
I seriously doubt Courtois staying or going will have any effect on him, although he obviously rates Courtois as a top player and was banging on about big players being signed before the WC. Wait and see next week Real Madrid will make a 100M euro bid or something. Now hes put that out there to the media its just going to escalate like it does every time Madrid chase a big player. The statement related to Neymar as well? No way PSG sell. Also no way Madrid give us 150M plus a player (they rate Kovavic at 60-70M apparently, Isco probably not for sale at any price, Asensio? Same with Isco I'd imagine) for a guy with 2 years left on his deal, they are not idiots, especially if Hazard asks to get the move.
-
He will probably be a rotation player and still be club captain, not a chance Sarri comes in strips him of the captaincy plus I think its fair to say the players all respect Gary being captain so it would be a idiotic move on all accounts (despite all the shit that was mentioned last season about him as a captain although he did a really good job in Terry's absence in the first year under Antonio and if last season wasn't so poor or indifferent, it would probably never have been mentioned at all). Only way he doesn't have the armband is if he is sold on but I'd say maybe David Luiz and 100% Kurt Zouma's future is in doubt, especially now Jorginho has taken Zouma's number and the talk of Daniele Rugani coming in.
-
Surprised he still has a contract here in all fairness. Jesus christ.
-
Fekir is a second striker or a 10. We are going to 100% be playing 433. I seriously doubt United would sell us Martial as well. Hudson Odoi is a kid I really like but primed to take a spot in the first 11? Lets not get ahead of ourselves.
-
No way Real get rid of both Isco and Asensio. James is probably the only guy who they'd be willing to get rid of although I'm not sure why he didn't go to Bayern. He'd definitely be a target for Barca, Dembele is a top talent but theres been talks of a departure either perm or on loan and no way do Barca turn down an opportunity for a player in his prime at that level. Messi Suarez Hazard front 3 would be brilliant. Anyway regarding the Hazard comments, I think its fair to say his mind is made up and has been since last year when he rejected a contract offer. He hasn't even had a chance to meet the new manager yet and after all that blabbing about wanting big players etc and then he goes and drops that 6 or 8 weeks later? Could you imagine if it was Courtois who said that? He'd get slaughtered. I was quite sure he'd be willing to stay but that comments have just thrown me off that idea completely. I know he mentioned Sarri as well but quite frankly I dont think the original comment he made "you know my preferred destination" can be looked away from...
-
Aye same on twitter, they are butthurt, same as with Fred, Sanchez etc. I can't believe this whole Jorginho bullied to Chelsea story either, what a shower of shite, Pep is Pep but Sarri basically moulded Jorginho into the player he is today and I'd imagine 3/4s of that Napoli team would take the same chance to work under him again here than go to City. Delph? Delph is an average footballer, he is only at City to fill up a HG quota space just like Danny Drinkwater is here. Jorginho is a different class of player and even every one of those idiotic City fans know that. Also if they didn't dick around with their bids originally they'd have done it sooner, so they really should be blaming themselves. I think we got a bit lucky how everything just managed to be worked out alright in the last 48 hours in terms of the Sarri and Jorginho deals after god knows how much media speculation and other bullshit that was around the whole situation with Conte not being sacked etc earlier as well.
-
I think he will be fine with Sarri, he needs to start well again though because we seen last season it all got a bit much for him at times and that affected the teams performances as much as anything else due to missing guilt edge chances. Sarri managed to get through to a 28 or 29 year old Higuain, told him to lose weight, to not be lazy, to do more outside of the box, which led him to the most prolific year of his career as well as turning Dries Merten from an average wide player into a regular goal scoring winger/striker so I have no doubts about him getting a good return out of Morata because the ability is there to work with.
-
Still think if Real or Barca were to ramp up their interest his head would be swayed, regardless of what we do or who we sign. Fair enough most players probably would be and it would possibly be the last chance he'll have all the cards in demanding a move or not demanding one. I think he will stay but its not as black and white as it seems. I think the next few weeks we will need to keep plugging away at getting a few more players, not just any players obviously the right ones and also if Willian were to leave we'd have to buy somebody who is better than him for definite.
-
Guy is going to be key to everything we do under Sarri, as long as he succeeds here he brings our MF up another notch. Jorginho is going to be the brains, Kante will be Kante.. recovering balls, breaking the lines etc and now its interesting to see what happens with the 3rd MF player, if it will be Cesc further up or Barkley or somebody else entirely but like with Kante its scary how one very good signing can elevate a team. Don't expect us to stop there either, Rugani although I'm not 100% sure hes a better player than any of the defenders we already have has already worked with Sarri and obviously fits the mould of what hes looking for as well as a few other players. Reckon we will get another wide player too even if Eden stays.
-
Wont fit here under Sarri I feel based on what I seen of him last season and also in the world cup, hes a counter attack player, good at carrying the ball into space but has no real end product and 9 times out of 10 takes the easy option. Think he must go on loan again to develop his game, he is still behind in terms of where he needs to be and if Barkley impresses Sarri I can't see RLC sitting around considering Jorginho and Kante are going to be absolutely nailed on to start every week leaving one slot in MF for either Cesc, Barkley or that Russian if a deal comes off.
-
Can't wait to see what sort of an influence he and Sarri will have on Eden Hazard if he stays this season. Potential match made in heaven.
-
Abramovich gets his Pep Guardiola in a sense of the football philosophy he will bring to the club. Surely this gives him a bit more hold than what some other managers have had because we all know how crazy Roman was for Pep and Barcelona. Exciting move although there is a bigger pressure on him here but if he gets that "Sarriball" football on the go here we are in for an exciting 3 years.
-
Most definitely fake. The collar and the fact Barkley already has the squad number 8, I doubt Jorginho will come in and just take it off him.
-
The wee guy wouldn't look out of place at Barca at all but I don't think we should even consider it. 300M starting price... haha but in all realism there are not many MF players to the quality of this guy.
-
Only think this happens if we've already agreed to move on Courtois, which I doubt considering hes still with Belgium, who could still end up deciding he wants to stay if the club shows intent. I get everyone talks about this passing out from the back but Courtois does it for Belgium, has done it for us under Conte with a back 3... I mean he isn't exactly Pirlo fair enough but is Alisson really that much of a better keeper, not only with his feet but in terms of shot stopping etc? He wasn't particularly impressive for Brazil at the WC where as Courtois was arguably their most important player in their last game because he made like 5 big saves. Plus if Courtois goes, I think Eden might be tempted to go too.
-
Odd hes rejected a move to Bayern, thought it would more or less be a formality after how often he played there. Maybe he will go back to Real? Who knows? Would take him here 10000% though, guy is an absolutely class footballer.
