  1. Not sure what he expected to happen when he moved here. "Frustrating season" he was never going to start here. He is not stupid but he wanted to try it, maybe wanted a pay rise, wanted to work under Conte etc etc but lets be fair, he was always going to be a squad player and will be if he stays (which I doubt because there will be MF additions for sure I'd hope).
  2. Not surprised one bit, was kind of curious as to why Spain took 3 RBs in him, Carvajal and Odriozola but that has just shown another option, Azpi is that good defensively that he could play any position in a back 4 or back 5.
  3. Imagine replacing Conte with such a poor manager like Laurent Blanc. What the fuck is that all about. The club is run by incompetent fucking idiots who haven't got one ounce of intelligence.
  4. We hardly binned Cech, he was obviously going to be demoted to number 2, he was declining, Courtois had just had 3 amazing seasons at Atletico where he was arguably the best GK in La Liga. So many folk here wanted Courtois to replace Cech and anybody who says other wise is a liar. Yes hes playing the game a bit, he wants to move etc or is trying to pressure the board for money etc but its modern day football. Eden is in a similar place just nowhere near as blunt about it. Even if we do sell him, he cost us 8m and that was an absolute steal considering how good he has turned out and if we can convince him to resign then it will be a very very good move because he is only 26 years old. If we replace him with the likes of Butland then god help us. Alisson probably wont happen and Oblak is the in same boat, will cost too much and I can't see anybody spending 50m plus for a GK yet alone Chelsea.
  5. True but it would have to be paid from his pocket, that is what the whole thing is, thats why Conte never left Chelsea last summer because if he resigned he'd have to pay 9m to the club. Thats why he isn't resigning now because he will have to pay it. Fair enough he'd make it back by my point is a coach who is on a 1.5m euros a year salary or whatever Sarri is on, will not just throw 3m euros to a club who have already replaced him..
  6. What makes Tolisso better than Mount or RLC? The fact hes proven himself at a much higher level, is an incredibly rounded footballer who has no significant weaknesses imo for a midfield player except for the defensive side of his game (although at Lyon he was very competent I thought regarding this). Lets not kid ourselves, I think RLC is an extremely overrated player and his season at Palace was by no means exceptional in any regard. If I could have one of them guys in my MF it would be Tolisso every single day of the week and anybody else who says otherwise is a fool. Mount is extremely promising as is Hudson-Odoi but you've mentioned Musonda in comparison to Bailey? Musonda is a show pony, he has no end product, he couldnt break into the Celtic team after they claimed "they fought off 20 teams to sign him".... lets not kid ourselves and say that he has shown anything good except a few brief flashes at Betis. also its worth mentioning him constantly acting like a petulant little child over social media when he wanted to play more etc ahead of guys streets ahead of him. I'd be all for giving youngsters game time, Hudson-Odoi and Mount are two who I feel can be very very useful although Mount would benefit a lot if he got the loan move to Ajax which has been talked about apparently, they are one of the best teams in the world at progressing young players, but if the club or manager were offered Tolisso or Bailey? No brainers.
  7. I don't know about you mate but 3m euros is a lot of money!! fuck paying that yourself.
  8. Napoli could probably ask him for the remainder of his contract. Just like if Conte resigns here he'd have to pay x amount, which is why he hasn't resigned or didnt last summer.
  9. Ffs. This is getting incredibly silly. I know there is still plenty time to sort something out but would it just happen already? We want Sarri, so pay the money to appoint him and pay off Conte.
  10. True. I suppose if we had matched their fee and had Sarri maybe he'd think differently but I suppose we haven't. This managerial conundrum is fucking us up in the market.
  11. Great player but don't see why hes going to City, hes in his best years and maybe controversially maybe not, I think Fernandinho is still a better player (think hes been really really good under Pep for City, after he started to look a bit more average under Pellegrini). Suppose it gives City more options and Fernandinho isn't getting younger but still an odd move when City have David Silva, De Bruyne, Gundogan, Fernandinho, even the boy Foden all there, he could be playing every single week here, or at many other clubs and I'd be surprised if Pep goes and plays him ahead of Fernandinho, or plays him ahead of De Bruyne or Silva in those roles they took up last season.
  12. I think if Roman is putting a halt on stadium renovations or whatever it could mean he is willing to plough more money into the squad on players. Or at least that's what I hope, if we had to prioritise something this next few years, its got to be investment in the squad, players like Luiz, Cahill, Fabregas, Willian, Pedro, Giroud are all towards 30 or over or are not far off it and considering at least 4 of them started a lot of games for us this season (Cahill, Fabregas, Willian Giroud), it is a more urgent matter to look for upgrades/long term solutions for them as opposed to a new stadium imo. Throw in the mediocre players like Moses, Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zappacosta and a lot of the loan players that will never get a chance/arent good enough, that is a lot of poor level players for a Chelsea squad and we should be looking to cut ties with them. Lets hope that is what he is thinking anyway.
  13. In my eyes the club are taking the piss. They obviously want Sarri as manager, but don't want to sack Conte (who has said he is committed to the club as well numerous times in the last few months), over what 9m? Why go and make moves to appoint another manager in hoping to try persuade someone who is on huge wages to quit, and can quite rightly Conte can sit there and say I'm not leaving on my own accord, you'll have to sack me and pay me off. Even then if the club continues to make moves in this manner Conte could have a huge claim for a lawsuit, ironically similar to Sarri who has been replaced at Napoli without actually being fired. Absolutely ridiculous. How we've ended up here is mental. Fucking joke of a board. Selling Courtois as well? This is going to be the first of many big players who will potentially leave this summer. Hazard will probably be next. Morata (not everyone flavour of the month fair enough) will probably be gone as well if anythings to be believed. We lose those guys then it makes me seriously doubt what way the club are looking to go.
  14. An average Dortmund? Fair they've not been spectacular but that doesn't mean he hasnt performed well for them. Hes been our of their better attacking players when hes played, I think its fair to see his talent etc and you've not diminished it as you've said but where are you getting 70m from? The rumours I've heard is us valuing Batshuayi at 50m and offering 20-30m with him for Pulisic? Lets not be daft yes Pulisic is young and can still improve but 20-30m and Batshuayi for a 19 year old who has shown a lot of positives including he can cut in a very demanding league at a team who have had European exposure as well in the CL and Europa League, is a pretty good deal. Think about it. And well if Bayern are interested in most players that show promise in Germany I suppose the likes of Goretzka, Hummels, Neuer, Kimmich are all just in a similar bracket eh? Were they not worth buying because they are younger/played for an "average" Dortmund/other Geramn side etc etc.... Look how good they've turned out for Bayern, they are probably one of the best teams in the world at identifying players. If you disagree fair enough but Pulisic would be a great signing I think. He has got that huge potential and lets be honest in a few years he will be in demand and cost 50m more, its a no brainer, our wingers except Eden are 29 and 30 years old. Not saying Gnarby is amazing or that but, an Arsenal reject who is a German international and will maybe be in the Bayern Munich squad next season after scoring 10 goals for Hoffeinheim who finished third is not bad all things considering we have people here shouting they want to see RLC, who scored 2 goals and made 3 assists all season in a team that were potentially relegation candidates to be in the squad....
  15. Yeah he looks in a similar sort of mould to Iniesta in a way. He takes the ball in difficult situations and always manages to retain it. I think he'd be a good move, there was talk of Napoli wanting him to sign a new contract though if I'm not mistaken a while ago and I think that could make it difficult to make a move for him if Sarri arrives.
  16. I hope this is a joke? He is an extremely talented player, perhaps better than Bailey at the moment (I've said perhaps because Bailey looks like he has got a lot of potential too), the way he plays actually reminds me a bit of Eden in how he plays 1 v 1, always facing players up always willing to run at them, doesn't lose the ball a lot. Don't get me wrong he isn't Eden Hazard but he has that sort of look when he gets the ball out of his feet and up against players. I think he has got a lot of potential and it would be no surprise that we are probably not the only club looking at him, Bayern have been credited with an interest in the past and it would be make sense for them due to Ribery and Robbens age. Precisely.
  17. Gets Israeli citizenship. Instantly becomes the richest man in Israel..
  18. Even if he comes in with that mind set he will obviously be able to see hes short in some areas and will want players to beef up the first 11 and also we need better quality of depth as well in attacking areas without even looking at if any of Batshuayi/Morata/Pedro/Willian/Hazard depart.
  19. Regardless, I would move Batshuayi before I moved Morata, put it that way. A loan spell playing for the second best team in Germany, scoring goals against mediocre teams doesn't make up for a year and a half worth of incredibly frustrating performances.
  20. Madrid is a lot closer to Paris than it is to London lets be realistic. Also in terms of a city I would rather live in Paris than London myself as well. I can see why players would rather live in London than Manchester or Liverpool but in terms to a Paris, Madrid, Milan etc not so sure it compares as well. But I feel that the big issue for us is the uncertainties regarding managers every 2-3 years, he's talked about the club needing a big invest to match the Mancs and continuity in decisions regarding coaches and how to take the club forward and that does affect him staying massively I'd imagine and I think if the club had that in place it would maybe convince him and Eden more, although I do find it strange that Eden rejected an offer in December, so for me I feel hes more looking to pursue a move more aggressively than Courtois. Maybe Courtois rejected one as well I don't know, can't really remember but.
  21. And what if Batshuayi leaves, which is constantly being mentioned, have Lewa who is 30 and Giroud who is older as our only 2 strikers? Short term much? Morata is 25, he should be kept at all costs, he can improve still, he has the right characteristics to be a success here. Icardi wont come here in the summer I guarantee it. I'd be very surprised if Lewandowski did too to be fair.
  22. Wants to play a lot of football next season? Won't happen here. He isn't good enough yet for me, he played 30 games this season and scored like 2 goals and had 3 assists. If that sort of output along with the huge inconsistencies he showed at Palace are worthy of playing a lot here next season, I will be shocked. Fair enough its stats and they aren't everything but hes hardly had an outstanding season in any regards, I'm still miffed he made the world cup for England. Not even sure hes a better footballer than Barkley and considering he hasn't had a good run of games for about a year, says it all.
  23. Again I think this move is a bit of a risk, as Bayern replacing Pep with Carlo was. I don't think Sarri is as intense as Pep but I think hes a lot more hard work than Carlo will be. Hopefully it works out for both parties because Napoli have established a nice philosophy and Carlo is ex Chels but I can see it being a troublesome mix. Also no way Carlo is going to go there and not have the guarantee of financial backing, hes a house hold name manager.
  24. Think this is ridiculous, they say its new rules that were put in place a few years ago but I genuinely believe it is to do with his links to Vladimir Putin.
