  1. In my eyes the club are taking the piss. They obviously want Sarri as manager, but don't want to sack Conte (who has said he is committed to the club as well numerous times in the last few months), over what 9m? Why go and make moves to appoint another manager in hoping to try persuade someone who is on huge wages to quit, and can quite rightly Conte can sit there and say I'm not leaving on my own accord, you'll have to sack me and pay me off. Even then if the club continues to make moves in this manner Conte could have a huge claim for a lawsuit, ironically similar to Sarri who has been replaced at Napoli without actually being fired. Absolutely ridiculous. How we've ended up here is mental. Fucking joke of a board. Selling Courtois as well? This is going to be the first of many big players who will potentially leave this summer. Hazard will probably be next. Morata (not everyone flavour of the month fair enough) will probably be gone as well if anythings to be believed. We lose those guys then it makes me seriously doubt what way the club are looking to go.
  2. An average Dortmund? Fair they've not been spectacular but that doesn't mean he hasnt performed well for them. Hes been our of their better attacking players when hes played, I think its fair to see his talent etc and you've not diminished it as you've said but where are you getting 70m from? The rumours I've heard is us valuing Batshuayi at 50m and offering 20-30m with him for Pulisic? Lets not be daft yes Pulisic is young and can still improve but 20-30m and Batshuayi for a 19 year old who has shown a lot of positives including he can cut in a very demanding league at a team who have had European exposure as well in the CL and Europa League, is a pretty good deal. Think about it. And well if Bayern are interested in most players that show promise in Germany I suppose the likes of Goretzka, Hummels, Neuer, Kimmich are all just in a similar bracket eh? Were they not worth buying because they are younger/played for an "average" Dortmund/other Geramn side etc etc.... Look how good they've turned out for Bayern, they are probably one of the best teams in the world at identifying players. If you disagree fair enough but Pulisic would be a great signing I think. He has got that huge potential and lets be honest in a few years he will be in demand and cost 50m more, its a no brainer, our wingers except Eden are 29 and 30 years old. Not saying Gnarby is amazing or that but, an Arsenal reject who is a German international and will maybe be in the Bayern Munich squad next season after scoring 10 goals for Hoffeinheim who finished third is not bad all things considering we have people here shouting they want to see RLC, who scored 2 goals and made 3 assists all season in a team that were potentially relegation candidates to be in the squad....
  3. Yeah he looks in a similar sort of mould to Iniesta in a way. He takes the ball in difficult situations and always manages to retain it. I think he'd be a good move, there was talk of Napoli wanting him to sign a new contract though if I'm not mistaken a while ago and I think that could make it difficult to make a move for him if Sarri arrives.
  4. I hope this is a joke? He is an extremely talented player, perhaps better than Bailey at the moment (I've said perhaps because Bailey looks like he has got a lot of potential too), the way he plays actually reminds me a bit of Eden in how he plays 1 v 1, always facing players up always willing to run at them, doesn't lose the ball a lot. Don't get me wrong he isn't Eden Hazard but he has that sort of look when he gets the ball out of his feet and up against players. I think he has got a lot of potential and it would be no surprise that we are probably not the only club looking at him, Bayern have been credited with an interest in the past and it would be make sense for them due to Ribery and Robbens age. Precisely.
  5. Gets Israeli citizenship. Instantly becomes the richest man in Israel..
  6. Even if he comes in with that mind set he will obviously be able to see hes short in some areas and will want players to beef up the first 11 and also we need better quality of depth as well in attacking areas without even looking at if any of Batshuayi/Morata/Pedro/Willian/Hazard depart.
  7. Regardless, I would move Batshuayi before I moved Morata, put it that way. A loan spell playing for the second best team in Germany, scoring goals against mediocre teams doesn't make up for a year and a half worth of incredibly frustrating performances.
  8. Madrid is a lot closer to Paris than it is to London lets be realistic. Also in terms of a city I would rather live in Paris than London myself as well. I can see why players would rather live in London than Manchester or Liverpool but in terms to a Paris, Madrid, Milan etc not so sure it compares as well. But I feel that the big issue for us is the uncertainties regarding managers every 2-3 years, he's talked about the club needing a big invest to match the Mancs and continuity in decisions regarding coaches and how to take the club forward and that does affect him staying massively I'd imagine and I think if the club had that in place it would maybe convince him and Eden more, although I do find it strange that Eden rejected an offer in December, so for me I feel hes more looking to pursue a move more aggressively than Courtois. Maybe Courtois rejected one as well I don't know, can't really remember but.
  9. And what if Batshuayi leaves, which is constantly being mentioned, have Lewa who is 30 and Giroud who is older as our only 2 strikers? Short term much? Morata is 25, he should be kept at all costs, he can improve still, he has the right characteristics to be a success here. Icardi wont come here in the summer I guarantee it. I'd be very surprised if Lewandowski did too to be fair.
  10. Wants to play a lot of football next season? Won't happen here. He isn't good enough yet for me, he played 30 games this season and scored like 2 goals and had 3 assists. If that sort of output along with the huge inconsistencies he showed at Palace are worthy of playing a lot here next season, I will be shocked. Fair enough its stats and they aren't everything but hes hardly had an outstanding season in any regards, I'm still miffed he made the world cup for England. Not even sure hes a better footballer than Barkley and considering he hasn't had a good run of games for about a year, says it all.
  11. Again I think this move is a bit of a risk, as Bayern replacing Pep with Carlo was. I don't think Sarri is as intense as Pep but I think hes a lot more hard work than Carlo will be. Hopefully it works out for both parties because Napoli have established a nice philosophy and Carlo is ex Chels but I can see it being a troublesome mix. Also no way Carlo is going to go there and not have the guarantee of financial backing, hes a house hold name manager.
  12. Think this is ridiculous, they say its new rules that were put in place a few years ago but I genuinely believe it is to do with his links to Vladimir Putin.
  13. Yes its true regarding the comments and I did agree, but its not like it was 100% about him, there is not much else you can say as a player about the team this season as opposed to "we played very poor this year" or "this season wasn't good enough" etc. hes also came out and said a lot regarding wanting the managers future to be resolved as well as talking about how hes had his critics this season, like many players, so its nothing particularly unexpected or for me anything that is trying to "overshadow" the clubs win in any regard if that's what you were hinting at. As a player I'd be disappointed still to have finished 5th, FA cup or not. His comment about the FA cup saving our season is the only thing that ruffles my feathers a bit because it doesn't and he is not the only player to have said something like this either. It almost seems as if the players expect it to cover the cracks of another mediocre season after a title win, which for me it doesn't. Also everyone will get a shot of the trophy don't worry about that, I just think its looking for an issue when there isn't one, everyone shared the glory of winning. Just because JT and Lamps lifted trophies together doesn't mean everyone else has to in the future, it doesn't necessarily happen at every other club in the world so why is it a issue? Even then if this can be used as an excuse, as club captain this is his first trophy so obviously he has said that hes delighted to win his first trophy as Chelsea captain which isn't an issue for me, just shows that he is extremely proud to be the captain of the club, which there is nothing wrong with. Also not specially relevant but people have questioned if he is the right captain for the club too but the other comments he made about not having a good season by any stretch, the club being used to winning and wanting to bounce back bodes well for me. I think people are under the impression he is just a fanny which he isn't, fair enough hes not by any stretch of the imagination a world class player but some of the shit he has gotten about being a shit captain is a bit of a joke in all reality.
  14. Not sure what to make of it, I thought the new Spain manager was a huge fan of his and had worked with him at u21 level as well but obviously this should motivate him to improve and if it doesn't big warning signs. He has the ability but I am still curious regarding his mentality but am hopeful for next season still, think he can get 15-20 goals no problem.
  15. First half of the season when he just moved here he did, no doubt he started well, scored some goals etc but never really kicked on from there and I know Mourinho is a bad coach for youngsters (although Rashford the first season, Scott McTominay and also Lingaard have come on leaps and bounds although Rashford has struggled a bit this season and Shaw's career at United is all but over) but you can't blame Mourinho for his inconsistencies which were even on show under van Gaal after that good start. The fact hes made 2 appearances for France since 2017 doesn't help his case. He'd be a good option to have purely based on his potential and there is a player in there but I doubt he'd suit playing right wing which is where he will be shoehorned into if Eden stays and lets not kid ourselves, replacing Eden with Martial would be a ridiculous move as well. In terms of options in attack he'd be a shrewd move for 30-40M though because theres still time to get him back on track.
  16. Precisely. If this was anybody but Cahill it wouldn't be a problem. I don't understand why it is a huge issue at all, just seems a little bit of a petty thing to bring up, I mean I get it people like Azpi and want him to be captain ahead of Cahill but it just seems like anything to have a go now a days and its quite odd to see lol, the team won the trophy, it shouldn't really matter who lifts it. Especially after arguably his best game of the season, where even then the last games hes played since taking AC's spot, hes been to a pretty decent standard. Also his comments in the post match thing, he has received criticism this season, along with a lot of the team, Tibo made similar comments about receiving criticism and responding so again, its not really anything different to what I'd expect someone else to say who had been receiving constant criticism this season. He said the same thing a lot of the players/manager had said which was along the lines of "the season wasn't what we expected/hoped for not defending the league title", its not rocket science we could all see that, you can't really add too much more to it and we will see next season what happens because actions are louder than words so hopefully everyone comes back with a clear head, 10 times more motivation and performs 10 times better.
  17. True but I think if we finished top 4, Jakanovic wouldn't be in with a shout. The summer looks like it will be tough financially we won't have the CL windfall etc and I think the club is maybe going to look to continue down the way it has in the last 4-5 years with this one in one out mentality unless we get somebody to do what Conte did (think its not helped him but has shown the club in a bad light in comparison to the Manc clubs regarding ambition in the market), push back and say look this way or nothing. Can't see Jakanovic being that guy. Enrique isn't a brilliant manager in my eyes, I agree he wouldn't be the ideal man for the job but you can bet your bottom dollar he wouldn't come here unless he was given a good budget to sign 3 or 4 top top players at least as well as a good contract.
  18. Or someone who will be a bit more grateful for the chance and will be willing to take what he gets player and budget wise? I genuinely think that if Roman is looking at these sort of appointments then we can expect more poor signings in the future as opposed to actually going out and competing financially. Luis Enrique will want shit loads of investment if he comes, Conte will if he stays, Sarri hopefully a similar mind set. Jakonovic? For a chance at a huge club, where he played at as well, for a guy with his experience as a coach...
  19. If he is to go sell him to someone outside of England.
  20. Yeah I suppose but hes an interesting coach. Hes done a decent job with Fulham but I think his name being mentioned means we are literally scraping the bottle of the barrel to get a manager imo.
  21. Decent appointment I must admit, although I doubt he'll have as much success in the PL as he did in France and Spain.
  22. It was more likely 15-20 years ago, was doing some digging from an article from 2014, says it was not just London he had worked in as a banker, lists that he had worked in other countries in Europe such as Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland also. Not sure it also means he can speak all the languages linked with those countries which is what people seem to be under the impression based on his previous work 15-20 years ago.
  23. Not even just that he did it, its his attitude, he could have easily gone okay I've just burst my arse to get so far up the park I'll let someone else do that job but no 100% top class attitude and will to fight for his team to do that. Absolutely priceless like you said, be more worried if we lost him or Azpi than anyone else this summer because they are both in that bracket: priceless, give 110% every match of very season, incredible desire to put themselves through it for their teammates.
  24. Wouldn't be surprised if we appointed Jardim and Sarri goes to Monaco... only Chelsea eh Regarding Sarri there is only two things that possibly would put me off, firstly the lack of experience outside Italy (Italian league is good but the tempo is nowhere near as high as in other European leagues, although his style has worked in the CL but over a full 50 game season, the lack of knowledge and experience regarding the speed of the games, no winter break... the guy is also known for not rotating) and secondly, the fact that Walter Matzarri managed a similar feat, finishing second at Napoli, before having a poor spell at another big club in Italy and then came to England and struggled. Fair enough Matzarri is not Sarri and vice vesra but just food for thought. If Sarri were to come and he spoke English to the level Conte does that would be brilliant and very beneficial for him and the team but Matzarri had a translator and if we had to have a manager try coach a team via a translator it would be bad I think. There is sources saying he speaks English but I am not 100% sure.
