  1. Not any team in the world would be stronger if they had Kante (arguably the best defensive minded midfielder in Europe right now) and sold him in my eyes regardless of who they replaced him with. Its like Madrid selling Ronaldo, they are instantly weaker, even if they got Hazard or Neymar.. still be weaker. He’s such a selfless player but he’s a huge part of the Chelsea team and also the France team and I think regardless of how simple his game seems, you couldn’t sell him and replace him with Ndidi, Milinkovic Savic or whoever because there aren’t many players who do what he does at the level he does it at.
  2. Two pre-season games one good one bad. Hard to judge anybody on pre-season as well because it’s mainly for fitness, also he played poor v dead rubber but looked much better against Inter. He falls down a lot but some are fouls. He’s not the only player that this happens to in Europe though. Sarri has said he likes him so I’m sure he will give him a chance. Give him another shot this season, I think people will be surprised, think he has plenty to offer this team. Maybe I’m wrong and will continue to be but I think people will get a surprise off guys like Barkley, Pedro and Morata when the team completely adapts to the philosophy.
  3. Sellling Kante? Why would anybody suggest such a thing. He and Jorginho will be key to our team for different reasons. Jorginho for dictating and building the game, always being on for a pss and Kante for counter pressing to get the ball back as well as his ability to cover so much ground, bring balance as well as a counter attacking threat. He’s going nowhere and he will be in the team 100% when he’s back. Deserves a new contract, he’s been our most consistent player since he arrived 2 seasons ago. If Eden resigns he will probably earn more but nothing been done on that front yet.
  4. Honestly if we got a CB, Bailey and Milinkovic-Savic as well as shifting possibly 3 players (Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Cahill) I would say that is a decent window all things considered. If Courtois leaves okay he will need replaced too but nothing is certain yet.
  5. The guy needs to give it a rest. Napoli won’t replicate the same sort of football or results under Ancelotti either. Plus what have Napoli actually won in recent times?
  6. Bernard? No thanks, had potential has never really developed like expected, not good enough even on for a free. Would much rather we got Max Meyer on a free, would be good back up for Jorginho. Only issue would be wages which is why he doesn’t have a club.
  7. He’s always been successful in terms of winning trophies regardless of circumstances over the years etc but his man management skills have really gone to shit. People like Klopp, Pochettino, Guardiola, Zidane.. more modern day managers have moved the goalposts in that regard in my eyes. Or Mourinho has just gotten even more bitter, which could be true, but even then he was always shrewd or a bit ruthless in that way. I remember JT and Lamps and everyone else like Didier, Essien etc having such a high opinion of him as a man manager but think now a days if they were thrown into his squad it would be a different story.
  8. Jesus. That is stupid. Almost as idiotic as the guy criticising Cahill for taking the full 3 weeks off in an article on here haha. No way Martial is gonna stay at United, even if there was a slim chance after the whole shit at the end of last season 100% not happening now.
  9. Hazard, Willian, Pedro, Pulisic and Hudson Odoi? That would be pretty good options for out wide. As much as I rate CHO and Sarri obviously likes him I still think he’s not going to feature too regularly. Willian might go which would change things maybe yes but I still think Sarri will want to keep him at all costs alongside Eden.
  10. Great move for him. Personally would of liked to see us get him on the back of a good World Cup but he will definitely play every week in France and at a club renowned for developing talent. Will obviously have to see how it pans out for him.
  11. This guy is a brilliant player but I’m quite concerned we haven’t targeted a younger but similar sort of player to be back up/compete with him because he cannot play every game. He will fatigue. Sure Cesc maybe can do that role but not like for like.
  12. Not necessarily untrue. At his age Lampard wasn’t as talented for sure. Lampard obviously had some talent but look at all the backlash he got at West Ham when he was a younger guy, many believed he was very much picked because of who his dad was and that his uncle was the manager. West Ham fans picked him out regarding his weight as well. He worked himself into the guy who made it all the way to the top, I doubt many people around at West Ham would have imagined seeing him go as far as he did and theres no doubt he got there through sheer determination to prove people wrong and shit loads of hard work. Natural talent doesn’t necessarily triumph over hard work. That’s why Mount has to work hard to continually get better as well as take on the whole mental side of wanting to be a top player which a lot of talented youngsters struggle with. Same with Hudson-Odoi. Josh McEachran technically had the potential to be an excellent footballer, we all had big hopes but he struggled with the mental and physical side of his development coupled together with a lack of continuity here and at Swansea where he very much wasted 6 months. Technically there probably weren’t too many in the academy who had better vision or technique at that time than what he had. So there’s always lessons to be learned with the clubs history with youngsters.
  13. I hope this article is a joke fucking hell 😂 “The mere fact that Cahill is yet to report for pre-season says it all. He’s entitled to three-weeks off, but the fact that he’s taking them all is disgraceful.” If its a disgrace why hasn’t Sarri hit out about it? Or the club? Or why does this ok you’ve got 3 weeks off but you should be rushing back not apply to the other World Cup players? It’s a shit show. Just a needless pointless argument. Cahill is the Chelsea captain and a Chelsea player, he’s not the best player, he’s beyond average but this whole idea that becauses he’s taken his leave before having to report to training “is disgraceful”, is just a circus and quite frankly I have no idea why anybody would write such a thing never mind a supposed Chelsea fan. As fans we should respect the players, he’s not the best like I’ve said but quite frankly think this is daft because there’s no article slamming Hazard, Courtois, Willian and Kante for all doing the same. Embarrassing. also thinking about it this is the same guy who slated Rudiger last season on the basis of one game despite the fact he was one of our most consistent players when he got in the team regularly. Not sure who lets him write articles.
  14. Interesting move but a good one if we go for it. In his prime, technically good, able to do a bit of everything and in the right set up can easily get 10 goals + a season. Jorginho and Kante would be dealing with building the play and more of the defensive stuff so Ramsey would have license to play further up. Only thing is our MF would be a bit lightweight, which could be a problem.
  15. Moses shouldn’t be in contention for this upcoming season. People talk about selling Willian and Cesc as if they are deadwood but Moses is genuinely deadwood and has to go. Hudson-Odoi will be a feature in the squad this season I’d imagine so I’d rather he got Moses spot in the squad because at 17 he already offers more than Moses does in an attacking sense. Schmeichel is no use for a Sarri team either I don’t think. Good keeper but his distribution is a issue. Cillessen fits the bill but not sure his shot stopping is actually that good.
  16. He’s a good keeper and more importantly, I’d assume that what he can do with his feet is a big part of any interest.
  17. True which is why I don’t think we will actually offer him it in all fairness. Who knows. It would be a good move if it got him to stay but also possibly have conflicting issues.
  18. Tbf I doubt he’d be too bothered, he’d probably understand in all fairness. He’d still be a vice captain anyways. Making Hazard captain hints even more at Cahill leaving too. Don’t think Cahill would be worried anyway, similarly to Azpi but Rugani in and then this rumour? If it’s only a rumour fair enough but if not ok, maybe he’s away.
  19. Sure buy a talented guy who will only play cup games and matches Azpi is injured/suspended for... when we already have a back up who will probably do just as well making the same amount of appearances...
  20. Another good signing for Fulham. Schurrle always had a very positive attitude despite having limited ability but his experience at international and higher level club level will help them a lot along with Seri in their PL return. Should make our games more exciting, ex Chelsea player as manager, ex Chelsea player in their team and apparent transfer target....
  21. Taking Eduardo’s place if he does sign. Not a bad move. English. Will rarely ever play. Sensible.
  22. Sorry but buying a RB when we have Azpi, who in my eyes could do a job at CB in a back 4 but still a top class RB in my eyes, is daft. Zappcosta is reasonable enough as a back up unless we can offload him. Then look for another RB.
  23. Morata doesn't have an all round game? Hes fast, good technically, can play one or two touch, intelligent mover without the ball, good in the air... just because he was poor in the second half of the season after being arguably our most important player in the first half of the season means nothing. Fatigue, injury, loss of form, no winter break, team as a whole struggled... all different variables, fair enough maybe none of them are applicable or maybe some are but he definitely deserves another season because he showed that he has definitely got something in him as a player (unlike Bakayoko who only looked like a reasonable player in 2 games the whole season). We are linked with Higuain because regardless we need better options up front... he is a known goalscorer and also a guy who worked with Sarri as well as the fact Juve need to sell to comply with FFP. Rugani isn't necessarily better than any CBs we've got but hes coming because hes worked with Sarri and fits the mould of what he wants in a CB. Higuain yes hes better than Morata but him coming doesn't necessarily mean its as simple as Sarri has weighed up Morata in 4 or 5 training sessions and doesn't want him. Regardless, Batshuayi and Giroud's futures are also up for debate. Batshuayi for me would be the first guy to go because he is such a limited footballer in terms of his actual all round game. In the past people also slated Costa (who for me, was the biggest loss from our team last year, not just in terms of goals but everything else he offers) so it just really goes to show that none of us are actually really happy when we have any decent strikers.... And for me personally, it is even stupider to consider selling him when we finally have an extremely attack minded manager, who's Napoli side created the most chances in Serie A over a 3 year period, had the most shots on target and most goals scored. He will get plenty of chances in this team and his skill set is much better than Higuains in my eyes so he will offer more in terms of the build up as well as probably getting 15+ goals. Also keep reading he wants to leave apparently? Where? Is there a source? Or is it just twitter/facebook shit?
  24. Take the deal. This is a good move for him and for us, he goes for a big fee, not to a direct rival and it means we can rejuvenate our attacking options.
  25. Get him in the coaching team here in some capacity, I know he has minimal coaching badges but it would be a mistake for somebody with as much in game experience as JT to go into being a pundit. He'd be wasted there.
