  1. If we dont get CL (well lets be honest its 90% not happening) then Hudson-Odoi should be in the squad and given a run in the Europa League, its the ideal sort of platform for him to play, its competitive but at the same time there are a lot of shit teams in it at the start (maybe consider ourselves in that bracket based on how we've been in moments this season haha). Really impressed with him in limited minutes with the first team and even more so for the u23 and youth teams. I have high hopes he'll get a better chance than what we've seen in the past with others.
  2. Loan him out? He is a donkey, he cant pass under pressure, cant shoot, gives away plenty of fouls and on top of that he gives the ball away more than the times he gives fouls away... if we can get rid of him for reasonable fee then do it. We need to sign a proper top of the level CM this summer. Can't expect Kante to carry the midfield again for another season if we continue with 3-4-3 or any other 2 man MF formation. The likes of van Ginkel is a better player than Bakayoko. I'd rather have seen us give him a shot than him, or even Drinkwater although I think for a squad player Drinkwater is okay, not great but being HG helps his status in the squad, although he is another with a pretty bang average skill set.
  3. Good player, has a great technical skill set, think comparison with Eriksen is right in a way he is quite similar. Spurs were reportedly interested in him but Sporting want like 80M apparently.
  4. Exceptional signing by them if it goes through. Would suit us down to the ground as well, so comfortable with the ball, moves it fast, gets stuck in, has good discipline. Fucking City
  5. Tbf I thought you meant in the PL in general but even then for Chelsea as a team with the players we've had in those roles, that list is impressive and it means that for any captain it is pretty difficult to compete when you look back at that (especially Terry purely on his rise along with the clubs in terms of becoming a serial winner). Maybe then.. "worst" Chelsea captain in the PL era but Azpi would also be the same if you compare him to those names lets not even start to say otherwise. There are worst captains at other PL teams anyway, so not sure what the fuss is, I mean imagine for instance, Jordan Henderson was running around captaining us or some other daft player who lacks experience in leading, winning trophies and even just that huge winning mentality that many of our players have had in the last 20 years? I know Cahill isn't the most popular player among fans but is there any point in pointing all these things out? Just seems a bit needless when as you have done, you break it down and point out the likes of Wise, Desailly, Terry all being captain before him. Poor leadership skills? Lets not forget he was basically captain last season considering how irregularly Terry featured and everybody seemed to respect that, fair enough Terry has always had a heavy influence off the field as well but you cannot say that Terry was captaining the side from the bench, the majority of the games Cahill had the armband he did more than a good enough job last season and that sort of responsibility seemed to elevate his performances, which is a shame that it hasn't done so this year but not a lot has gone right. I like Azpi as much as anybody else but I think it was obvious after Ivanovic left in January that Gaz would become vice captain and take over from Terry whenever he would depart. Its completely right that Azpi has gotten that recognition among the squad and manager to be named vice captain, absolutely, and if he had arrived a year or two earlier he'd probably be the main captain. Agree completley. Christensen is a top talent and had some very good moments this season but I think he had a wobble in a few games in a row and that affected him and us as a team. Not exactly been a great season by Gaz all the way through but hes been solid in the last 4 games or so I'd say. Hes just one of those players who is always going to have to do more to impress than others because people seem to have a big dislike towards him because hes not as good as he once was or isn't as good as somebody else (hes not the only guy in the squad who has this happening to him either and wont be the last) but if he can come in do the job required then doesn't bother me one bit.
  6. Great talent and would be a good signing for 25m euros, undoubtedly. Not sure why that scouted football video reckon hes 6 ft 3, hes like 5 ft 6 lol. Although there was already a thread for him.
  7. Honestly I hope we finish with Emerson playing LWB to the season is over. He has been solid so far and I think there is plenty more to come from him, just a matter of if Conte will be bold enough to keep him there or not.
  8. Not going to lie I think that is a ludicrous statement to make. Fair enough he is not the best defender or player at the club or anything but in terms of having an English club with a homegrown captain, his longevity of being here and experience it was so obvious he'd replace Terry and become captain and to say otherwise would be daft. I'd like to have seen Azpi be captain fair enough because he is a top top player and undoubtedly a top notch bloke but in all fairness I am not surprised one bit that it was Gaz. Even Jose Mourinho said he could be a future Chelsea captain when he was here a few years back. His performances have been alright in the last few games as well considering how poor he was earlier in the season (which is frightening considering how well he played last year) but not many people have mentioned that. Christensen was taken out of the firing line after a few poor games and with that injury scare, its probably been a wise move in general by Conte. Overall if this is to be his last season here (I'd imagine he'll be near the top end of the list of possibilities to leave, especially if Zouma is to come back and be reintegrated in the squad next season) he's been a pretty good value for money signing, 7m pounds from a piss poor team, although hes had a pretty decent spell here. Wouldn't say hes anywhere near the worst captain in PL era though that is a bit ridiculous.
  9. True but stranger things have happened.
  10. Played in a 3 man MF today and looked better than he previously had done playing in a 2 recently but again gave the ball away a lot.
  11. Just worth a shout maybe. Who knows. Barcelona are apparently interested in him and I doubt they'd want to play him as a LB considering his lack of pace and level of quality in comparison to Jordi Alba.... Although it could be a bullshit rumour but he has played there beforehand at Fiorentina and I doubt he'd look too out of place in all fairness. Pace isn't everything although for a LWB yes you'd want someone who has a bit more of it like Emerson but as a LCB, he would not be that slow, I mean lets be honest Cahill, Azpi and Christensen are hardly that fast either although Azpi is without a doubt faster than Alonso.
  12. I dont have an issue with Rudiger at LCB but I seen a rumour linking Barca with Alonso and they think he can be tried in the CB position. In a back 3 to be perfectly honest I think he'd be worth a shot there. Although I can't see him being played there too often if Conte goes in the summer.
  13. Not sure how Ayew got away with tbf? Pretty full on even if it was accidental
  14. 100% agree it was a great tackle but because it’s Cahill it should have been a penalty 😂
  15. Should be prioritising somebody like Jorginho over this guy. What a player he is. Absolute baller
  16. Bakayoko is still absolutely useless then. Absolute joke of a signing.
  17. Every time hes played for Celtic hes never done anything of note except of one assist v Zenit. Where as the likes of average/lesser talented, hard working players like James Forrest who for instance is probably having the season of his career as well as Callum McGregor, are playing every week and showing that there is more to football than just talent. Such a joke people thought he should of played instead of Pedro or Willian when they werent playing great. Or that he was anywhere near their level. I'm calling it now I wouldn't be surprised if his loan gets terminated in the summer.
  18. True but I think in terms of a left sided center back in a back 4, he'd be excellent. Plays that side for Napoli, is an absolute monster as well, very complete player. No doubt Rudiger could be that sort of player for him but he is an immense player. Suppose CB is the last place we should be looking anyway, considering Zouma and Christensen are under 24 and both very good prospects.
  19. If thats the case Roman is a lot more stupider than I thought he would be considering he always seems to pull the trigger on coaches at the right time and salvage things. But again we've seen it in the past with Mourinho too regarding transfers. Think Italian media could possibly be over exaggerating it but there is a possibility and I for one wouldn't be surprised if Conte thought that the players we got weren't enough to strengthen the squad/first 11 considering what City were signing and also United.
  20. If we get Sarri he'll be one of his first choice targets I'd imagine. He says he has no say at Napoli but I bet any money he'd take him in a heart beat.
  21. ...but his team plays that vibrant sort of football (although some of the stuff we've played under Conte isn't that bad), which is precisely why many people want him but like you've said 0 trophies. Napoli won tonight, meaning title race is well and truly on but they've choked in the past towards the latter end of the season. As mentioned above hes still quite inexperienced and maybe Napoli aren't as financially well off as others so it could be a gamble that would pay off if he were to spend more and mould the team his way but I think Allegri is a safer pair of hands, hes always seemed to get Juventus to play excellently in Europe and progress to a certain round where Conte couldn't get them to. They aren't particularly fixed to one style of football either and tactically flexible as Allegri seems to switch from playing with a back 4 and wingers to a back 3, wing backs and second striker depending on some games although I think theyve been playing with a back 4 more often than not this season. Not saying that means Conte is a worse coach than Allegri, think that the Euros with the Italian NT showed a lot of people that Conte is an exceptional coach, think many people were concerned with the fact he'd only achieved success at club level in Italy where Juve were the best team but hes shown here too that he can work miracles with limited players like Moses, Alonso, Luiz, Pedro and has improved the likes of Kante. Azpilicueta, Willian in some aspects of their performances.
  22. Nope hes not got a chance haha. Morata every time he plays he gets chances, just needs that bit of ruthlessness that will come hopefully as he continues to mature as a first choice striker. He is maybe 25 or whatever but this is his real first season as the leading man in all honesty. He will be seeing Giroud coming up with the goods in games and putting the pressure on Conte to play him so he will need to get that about his game but like you said, scored but still there are plenty of moans.... not had a bad season, its a long term contract he signed so I have no doubts that he will be more ruthless next season and he hits 27,28 will be a very good striker for us. His general play is good so its not like he doesn't contribute even if he doesn't score some games. People seem to take that for granted but we also need to remember hes a different style of number 9 to Costa, who was more experienced, much more physical and aggressive who was also ruthless in front of goal.
  23. Totally deserved. Think hes been the best player in the PL this season without a doubt. De Bruyne maybe close but think Salah has been so much more consistent he scores or assists in basically every game.
  24. To be fair Barca are going to win La Liga unbeaten by the looks of it as well as having won a Copa Del Rey. Replacing your coach, losing Neymar and the new guy goes and does that? Would be an extremely odd move, plus Conte isn't suited to them I don't think, hes a top manager yes but his philosophy and style isn't exactly what you'd associate Barca with although he'd do a good job there anyway. I think quarrels with Messi and Pique won't hinder Valverde in the long run, the same happened to Enrique and he went and won a treble about 5 months afterwards then a whole lot of other trophies including La Liga again the next season as well as FIFA World Cup, Supercup and all that other things.
  25. He has overshadowed Cesc for months now in my eyes. I think its scary how good the wee guy is, like I wasn't 100% sure when we first signed him because I thought maybe he would of just had that one really good season like we seen with Mahrez but my god, he is top top class. Only had 2 seasons but his consistency has rarely dropped and he is becoming more progressive as a midfielder, looking forward more, getting more influence on the ball and I think that article is right where it says Conte has been helping him improve because Conte was saying it almost every 2nd or 3rd week last season that he could always do more and now Kante is. He is one of the best CMs in the world for me.
