Mount's problem isn't the contract, it is the fact that he is not elite at anything in particular.  Every other elite midfielder has something about them, whether its the ability to play the killer pass, the ability to score from anywhere around the box, set piece specialists, ability to dribble past your man and get into open space...Mount doesn't tick any of those boxes.
