My criticism is that that's not the norm. His norm with the ball at his feet is not impressive, and seems to stumble more at pace than he should. All in all, he's what he is and we fully knew that before signing him. he will score goals due his pace and power, but I still hope he's managed correctly.
No, he did not have a great game against Pool. Yes, there were times he could have received an early pass, but in others, when he did receive the pass, he wasn't great... lost the ball cheaply or made the wrong pass.

Man Messi can take us from big club to elite club. His jersey sales and marketability alone is enough to ditch Lukaku and spend the funds on Messi!!

I’ll be honest I have not seen much of Lukaku at Inter, but every time I have seen him I don’t come away thinking he has changed. Look you are trying too hard to undue Lakuku reputation, he has a reputation for scoring goals but overall play seriously lacking. You are painting Lukaku as a great overall player, which he is not. 
 
Best case scenario Lukaku lives up to his reputation as a goal scorer against weak sides. I don’t want Lukaku, but if he lives up to that I would be content.

He is the same as ever. Just that he now plays in a worse league so his touch doesn't look that bad. £100m on him at this point is madness. 

I am quite clearly in a minority but i actually really love the potential of this squad with Kai as a false 9 so if we're going to rip that up it has to be someone truly worth it.

Got excited when I saw this thread bumped but sadly nothing, I really think he would explode in a better team than Atletico.

For years I am reading how he is defensively liability yet he is major part of a team and NT with best defense in the world.

From what I've seen Hakimi is not that great in a back 4 but as a wing-back he is devastatingly effective and probably the best in the world at the moment. He's probably one of the fastest top level players out there so he would offer something no other FB / WB in the team currently does.
If he's signed, I'll happily have him in the squad but if the transfer doesn't happen I'm not that bothered because the wing-back areas are already pretty well covered.

At some point there has to be a cap of reason to what a footballer can actually cost. Given he should be expected to at least bring the kind of money in he costs, for an enterprise with roughly half a bn turnover justifying the acquisition of an asset that costs almost as much while  income sources are mostly not scalable and already mainly exploited is a huge stretch. Especially if it just one out of dozens of assets it has to maintain in order to be operational. So in a best case scenario by how much is Haaland gonna increase our cashflow if he wins us PL and CL every year? I would expect us to finish top 4 and round of last 8 CL every season. Then maybe 30,40m extra by Haaland at best. Sponsors and kit sales 10-15m. So we would break even in about 8-9 years maybe we could move him on to Real for a decent price then it might end up a good deal. But this scenario is highly ficticous. So I estimate the probability this ends up a bad deal is significantly higher.

I get that he’s super young and highly talented but even on YouTube where anyone can be made to look amazing he really did nothing for me. In fact, Leicester’s soon to be new signing and who we should’ve been after Soumaré looks much better to me. And he’s only 22.

Come on guys.. You cannot complain to blame VAR or referee for overturning this goal. Clear handball. This is what VAR is for, proper usage.

He offers nothing. Looks slow, clumsy, weak, no leadership, no game intelligence his passing is off. We know he can do better but he has had like 2 good halves this season and all other games he has been absolute shitshow. He really does not cut it in this league.
