  1. Past hour
  2. Give Scott Carson the manager job for 8 years.
  3. Kompany will be back in the Championship by the end of the season, I think PL management came too soon for him.
  4. Surely there should be an investigation into the medical department at Chelsea? I don't think any player in the starting XI has been fit all season and that's pathetic considering we're not in European competition.
  5. Today
  6. Leicester just got promoted back to the PL with Maresca. Which means, after Arteta and Kompany, he will be the 3rd manager coming out from his team becoming a PL team leader. Maybe we should start looking at their staff lol.. Their unused sub player became ultimate star here, maybe they have some 4th-assistant coach who could immediately lead us to glory. Shocking if true, I highly doubt though.
  7. Arne Slot is set to become Liverpool's next manager after a compensation deal worth up to £9.4m was agreed with Feyenoord. The Dutchman is poised to succeed Jurgen Klopp, who announced in January he would leave Anfield at the end of the 2023-24 season. The Reds will now take steps to agree a contract with the 45-year-old before he is officially appointed. Liverpool have agreed to pay Feyenoord £7.7m (9m euros) plus a possible £1.7m (2m euros) in add-ons. Slot led Feyenoord to the 2022-23 Eredivisie title, while this season they have won the Dutch Cup and are set to finish second in their league. It is believed that the attacking style of Slot's teams, his personality and his ability to develop players are key factors in making him Liverpool's choice for the job.
  8. The point being that no team sustains that level of success ad infinitum. Not saying we shouldnt be doing better but he has a point.
  9. I mean its a matter of leadership. Im from, and live in the south. A president applying pressure on the police and pulling rank is the reason why our states function at all today. I do agree the universities are in a bind, but really they should just let the protests happen. I think he could get an easy win by saying he respects the right for peaceful protest, and leave it there. Calling them antisemites is weak sauce.
  10. Only way he gets sold is if there's a clause he can trigger. Surely? SURELY?
  11. I believe in the US salary cap system. In the name of competition I want to see all clubs competing in the same tier allowed the same budget. Now, whether each club can afford the maximum spend is another matter but, if they have benefactors willing to front the money without encumbering the club with debt, they should be allowed to spend up to the tier maximum. Right across the globe, leagues are dominated by their richest clubs. Decade after decade it goes on. Occasionally we get an exception like Laverkausen but it never lasts. Soon enough Bayern will be off on another ten year winning streak. Granted defining the tiers would take some work but it can be done. Or so I believe at any rate.
  12. I don't get that 'entitled brats' criticism. I mean we finished 12th last season and currently 9th. That is just bad and certainly no excuse to be playing like this, it is not like we are just missing out on top 4, if it was case yeah i would get "entitled brats" criticism. But we are very far behind where we used to be.
  13. I don't see a chance for 6th place tbh. 7th at best. But we want Europa League not Conference. Does Aston Villa winning Conference this season changes anything because they gonna qualify either way.
  14. It's not "his" police is it? I mean he can certainly apply pressure, which I presume is what you want him to do, or perhaps show some support, but ultimately it's city's and state's call. Was reading about their (protestor's) demands today: good luck with that. Like it or not, the reality here is that any, and I mean any, elected president would support Israel the same way Biden is doing (perhaps even more unapologetically so). The argument, which I happen to not find crazy, is that if you don't want to US to support Israel it would cease to exist. So, these universities are in a bind: they can either take a stance against Israel and appear (which is enough) antisemite, or stand against the protestors, which seems unpopular esp in the liberal media. My money is on that nothing will happen. Kinda "occupy wall street redux." Regarding Trump vs Biden, I think it goes way deeper than politics or whether you agree with specific policies or not. The whole pardoning for favors alone is already a huge red flag to me. How that shit isn't illegal is beyond me. Then again he asked for votes to be "found" in a recorded phone call, so. 🤷‍♂️
  15. Yesterday
  16. Trump is a POS who can't win, but I can't say he's any more of a threat than the guy who watches his police forces rough up students and teachers peacefully protesting on campus and call them "Antisemites" for opposing our tax dollars funding a literal genocide😂 I held my nose and voted for Biden 4 years ago....he's making it really hard to repeat that choice today though.
  17. Thanks to QPR winning 4-0 over Leeds Leicester are promoted to PL.
  18. Andy Cole just talking about him on Sky, said he sees a lot of himself in his first season - ''gets into the best positions but cant sort his feet out, but his biggest stumbling block is confidence. Once he gets that he'll start banging them in'' Hard to see it myself
  19. Villa have lost their last three home games against us- but are unbeaten in their last three trips to Stamford Bridge. Aston Villa wins: 60 Draws: 36 Chelsea wins: 69
  20. It does if you look at every other club. No club is at the top ad nauseum- to expect otherwise is childish. The frustrating thing is the clusterfuck that is Clownlake. Plenty of cash but decisions are gash. All the gear, no fucking idea.
  21. All I know we didn't get any better than him since. Not even close. And nothing in perspective. And we pretty much lost the chance of getting any top-tier manager with that so-called rebuild. And he actually cared and it doesn't happen often. It's a wired tweet as he was know for relying on rather unobvious players in BVB. Hell, he even improved our players way more, than anyone afer him and not many before. Not convinced with his transfer target choices, but maybe he would provide some reality check about our hundreds of millions in „potential and exciting talents” unlike the Clearlake yes-men. Well, pointless talk anyway. Except some fifa kids, we share the problem with Arsenal fans a while ago and Man U to some extent. Losing is fine, losing due to driving the club into wall and showing nothing but losers mentality is not fine and has nothing to do with entitlement.
  22. Weird but there was a bloke in the MHL, season ticket holder saying Chels fans are behaving like 'entitled brats'. Yes we had the good times under Jose, Abramovich but every club has its peaks and troughs and we should be grateful -(I know this because i went home and away through all the shit years) but embrace the 'bad' times as the good will return. Its painful but at least we're not Sp*rs. As I walked back thought he kinda made sense but the frustration is Clownlake and stultifying incompetence at every level.
  23. Tuchel was going to get himself sacked one way or another that season, he is a good cup manager but he was clearly the wrong person to lead Chelsea. We should get that guy, but i think he is likely what Bayern will push for at the end of the season.
  24. De Zebri another Mid XG merhcant who is even behind us this season what a jokers run this club . But this is our level now no one elite gaffer will come here with these clowns everything is PR to calm the fans .
  25. In terms of sport my main focus now is on NBA playoffs and tennis. Plus EURO is coming and Olympics.
  26. Yeah, us out of Europe is a crime from the owners and they should be held accountable for it, but realistically, should we somehow in wacky lucky way qualified to Europe, what would we get? Going 0-3 down with 3rd team of Slovakian league, with due respect? At this point I'm just wondering whether ultra-dumb move of sacking Tuchel will haunt us for longer, than letting De Bruyne and Salah go (only difference they would probably rot here had they stayed). Whoever will be appointed there should be two fundamental rules: Stay clear of freaking Brighton (like, fucking seriously this time) and shut the hell up - bs spoken by owners and PR team put owner's personal reputation at stake when appointing Potter (got flashbacks by just typing this name) AND they did exactly the same freaking thing with Poch - it made both practically unsackable. DO NOT say the appointment is a pinnacle of your footballing knowledge, vision, data system, faith and brainchild of intensive work from all the best people in club. Shut up. Just say welcome to the club and move on.
