United winning it 'this' season may have prevented City going on to dominate. That's the point!..

United won't be dominating fuck all post-2012, especially with Fergie's era coming to an end.

Exactly, it would've been much more destructive for Man City's whole operation if they went on this season without a trophy. If you're a Chelsea fan it would be naive to look at this through a neutral's perspective.

City could still bottle it. And one Premiership doesn't mean they're going to go crazier with their spending, they'll want more trophies in the bag before that happens, I think. Worth noting that if they win it, it'll only be their 2nd trophy since 2008. In our first 4 years under Roman we won everything under the sun except the CL, and we still didn't go onto dominate world football, though I reckon we could have if we didn't sack Jose.

I'm happy with the outcome. Hopefully they can win the league. That means they'll keep Mancini for another year at least and that means we have a bigger chance of winning it next season. :D

Once that squad gets going (i.e. winning mentality) it won't matter. Prize money, the onslaught of new fans, more revenue. The etihad deal was the turning point, this will make things even worse. United won't be on top for long, Ferguson is nearing retirement. We needed United to prevent City's era of dominance to begin at such an pivotal point, with a healthy average squad age and the FFP around the corner.

So City will dominate cause they won the league?

I think you are blind.

Cause there is no way in hell a team lead by Mancini will dominate.

They will need to throw in another 500 million to make that miracle next season!

City will dominate for various reasons & factors in which I have stated, which exacerbate once they break their duck. You are blind for not reading posts.

Those factors only apply if you got a good manager.

Look at Madrid, has more money then us and City, and have been a laughing stock till they got a good manager like Mourinho.

So you are blind for not seeing this!

Money a lone is not everything!!!

Your point is valid, but to be fair, that shouldn't affect us until 2013/14, which is the earliest I see us genuinely challenging for the title. By that time shit could have gone wrong for them. Mancini is a bit of a mug, I can't see him upkeeping success unless he has it given to him on a platter by virtue of no title rivals at all, like his time at Inter.

His whole point is because they have LOTS of money!

Which that is the most dumbest argument you can bring, cause how many times have we learned that money a lone does not bring big success?

Look at Barcelona, and compare Madrid. How much Madrid has to spend to try to overturn Barcelona?

It's laughable really!

His point is that City will continue being the biggest spenders in England after this because they'll be winning trophies. Basically this means while everyone else has to hire that dodgy accountant from Romania or wherever, City can keep spending money like water. Up to that, I agree with TX, but he assumes that they will dominate a la Barcelona, which I highly doubt due to their manager.

Barcelona is an anomaly, they are the supposed 'greatest team ever' for a reason. Once in a lifetime..

City already have the squad now anyway, and the criminal deal with Etihad means they have the upper hand. We failed to dominate for various reasons, Jose' sacking etc. History doesn't always repeat itself.

Big spending does not equate to big success.

Real Madrid has been spending big for ages, and for the first time in many years are about to get their first tittle.

That is a very horrible return.

To dominate you need more then just spending big money. Read my Juventus revival thread. They have not spend big and are about to win the Serie A.

So again your argument is flaw. Money a lone is not going to help them dominate!

TX mate you're talking about City's dominance like it is written somewhere that it will happen.

Yeah it's silly, cause he automatically writes out Chelsea and United.

If either of these two teams get their act straight like Juventus has done in the Serie A, it will give them a good chance of continuing to do good.

People say Barcelona is a one rare even, ok understandable!

But Juventus is showing us that you don't have to be like Barcelona. You need a good plan. You need your board to make smart signings, and you need a good coach to help your team push you forward.
