It would’ve been annoying yet at least tolerable if young Rio had decided to leave Chelsea and killed it in Italy or Germany or something. In that scenario we probably could’ve potentially bought him back in a few years.

But to see him at a direct rival where he could blossom into a superstar for 15 years is gutting. Things are kind of breaking just right for him too since as @MoroccanBlue says, they have only Gakpo on the left and haven’t been able to sign the new LW that they had wanted. Had they done so he may have never gotten these opportunities and been sent on loan.

Stuff like this is always going to happen though sadly. When you have such a crazy good academy there will always be future stars who get away. For every Reece James, Colwill, or Chalobah there’s a Musiala, Olise, or Rio who gets away.

Its kinda fucking annoying that we have produced some great defensive players that have made it as first team regulars but haven’t had a single attacking prospect become a superstar.

Rio is talented but you can’t get every young golden boy.

I honestly don’t think he’s close to the talent Estevao, Dowman and a few others are.

Also as I stated, Pool look very shaky and I don’t think they will go on some crazy unchallenged run.

Jammy, lucky motherfuckers

So sick of them! Two late wins with one coming in 90+10. Plus red card and next is Arsenal who will be with injured Saka and Odegaard. So fucking lucky! These wins give them confidence and momentum which they got in similar fashion last season as well.

You have to credit Liverpool for last night, I know Newcastle are getting all the plaudits because people feel sorry for them with the Isak situation but the red card was pathetic from Gordon and without spirit they should have easily lost that with ease, but they stood up and fair play. Bot on Liverpool, they reason they are the champions was typified on last night, just watch how they silence the crowd, keeping the ball, nothing with risk or danger, just simple passes, sharp and at times very probing, like a jouster both making Newcastle work, tiring them out and also muting the crowd.

Yes they got a late winner but the move that made that third goal came from what I said above, sharp incisive play, pulling Newcastle around and then bang, they are crying.

Very few teams will win at SJP this season because they cannot handle the atmosphere and intensity, Liverpool managed both, Newcastle fucked themselves over with silly temperaments like we have seen with Jackson
