The fact that City's misrepresentations was fined 10 mil proves that they are hiding something, yet they escape scot free is baffling.

The problem is FFP isn't enforceable. This outcome, where City get fined, is just a compromise to make it look like FFP is valid but they just didn't catch them in time.

From RC:

So the CAS ruling is
- City broke FFP
- City hid this from authorities to avoid punishment
- These offences are now either too far in the past or covered by previous settlement
- So we can only punish them for hiding things from authorities

what is completely corrupt is that if the punishment for hiding an offence is less than the punishment for the offence itself (which is what CAS has done), why would any rational club NOT hide/fail to cooperate.

CAS essentially agrees there was even more deliberate rulebreaking than just FFP offences and yet deemed it worthy of reduced punishment??

They will now get Koulibaly and I rate Jesus massively, I don't think they will go for a top striker as it's not needed.

I expect two big signings for them.

What has "not needed" ever stopped city 😂

Oki, so I am back from work. Obviously bad news, but it is not entirely over.

A massive key is latter this week when CAS issues their full written, detailed ruling.

Barca and other clubs are raging. There is a court of appeal, that being the Swiss federal court system.

First off, ultra shady interpretation of 'time-barred'. 80% of the cheating happened WITHIN the 5 years lens, but because the first 20% was outside (by a year or so) CAS tossed it all out. That is hyper dodgy right there. THERE is the first part of your corruption.

Furthermore, CAS itself has already set precedent that time-barring doesn't matter IF you lied and obstructed with the investigation, which Shitty did. The most famous CAS case ever where time-barred infractions still were upheld due to lying and obstruction is one that all on here will know. Lance Armstrong, the world champions yank cyclist and his doping cases. THERE is the 2nd part of the corruption.

The key is the written ruling, as CAS gave TWO explanations (UEFA not showing enough evidence and also time-barring), if the major reason was not proving, then UEFA is in deep shit, but the decision will probably not be appealed to the Swiss federal courts. IF, on the other hand, time-barring was the main reason, it may well be appealed. Multiple other clubs are also talking about all this and FFP overall as well.

ALL my faith in the sports legal system internal oversight apparatus of checks and balances is now shot to fuck. Only actual, nation-state-backed, (ie Switzerland for now) real courts (or EU courts) can save this.

bad bad precedents going on here either way

Yes, City broke FFP rules. As did PSG when it spent 400£m on Neymar and Mbappé. Among other clubs.

Problem is that there is nothing wrong according to EU rules.

FFP was dead from the outset as not aligned with legislation. UEFA and CAS cannot impose their own rules to the EU authorities.

The case of Chelsea is different as we were in breach with EU legislation.

Its utterly bent the system, there is no integrity left at all, you can do whatever the fuck you want and get away scot free as long as you have the money. If this was SH etc you can bet they would have been destroyed.

If so then why did city lie so much? Why cook the books if ffp has no legs at all? Why sponsor yourself to death but hide it? We all know what city have done here, its undeniable.

What have they done wrong in breach of EU legislation? FFP is dead. Because it is not compliant with EU legislation. UEFA and CAS are subordinated to EU legislation. All of these arguments put forward by CAS just aim for them to keep some kind of credibility. It is all about communication. Truth is, if tomorrow, Abramovitch or whoever else, wants to splash 500 million on new players, it will certainly breach FFP but not EU legislation. Green light.

Im not saying your wrong, I just wanna know why and how other clubs besides them so called istoric clubs have agreed to it if it has no legs? If its illegal then no one should really give a fuck cuz they can just take them to court and be done with it no? Yes CL is a uefa competition but when all is said and done they really cant stop you in the end.FFP truly is dead now and utterly made to protect the big 5 etc, which tells its own story. Plus I cant see why some clubs go through all that hassle to hide their shady business when in reality you cant touch them.

How many penalties for United today? I'm gonna go with two.

Jokes aside, let's hope fatigue comes into play at some point in the remaining games for United. They've named an unchanged starting lineup for five league games in a row. I've pretty much given up hope of them crashing out of top4 but could really use them dropping points in at least some of their remaining fixtures to keep them motivated for their last game against Leicester who've become our main rivals for fourth place. Last thing I'd like to see is United securing third place before last GW and then rolling over against Leicester.

Yeah but city dont have pgmol giving a helping hand and pushing them to a CL spot. I read the other day that udt will lose 100M pounds from Chevy deal alone if they miss out on CL 2 seasons in a row.....make of that what you will.
