If a person committed a crime that was done 20 years ago, and they just found out this person did that crime in 2020, because it was 20 years ago they should just forget it? BS.
The excuse is BS. Even UEFA’s statement is BS. They should be punished for their crimes. City got away with murder.

FFP is dead, nothing works.

Footy in general has been dead for years thanks to criminal syndicates running the show, theyhave all this evidence yet gets off scot free, City refused to cooperate which is supremely fishy in itself, still nothing. They have all been bought and paid for.

How can the CAS look at those sponsorship deals and think they're perfectly legitimate? They have to explain that, ffs even the most blatant cheating is irrelevant now.
They just don't care because it was 6 years ago or so. They do not care about details

How does that in any shape or form make sense? Its just a way to fool the fans nothing more.

Fined almost 10 million pounds for failing to cooperate with the investigation. That speaks volumes about City wanting to HIDE something yet no punishment.

Yeah, it is probably to keep up the pretence that FFP is still actually a thing. This suits all the big teams and City themselves as it freezes out anyone who isn't already established.

My hope is that today has killed off FFP. It is a cartel system used to keep the big boys big, and the medium/small teams in their place. If it was actually fair, they would say every club across Europe can spend x amount a year. Instead, they allow the big clubs to load up on debt and refuse to allow smaller teams inward investment that would essentially be gifted.

More will follow suit and something will be done one way or another.

FFP was already going to be relaxed if not completely gone this summer due to the virus. That plus now having the evidence that UEFA are toothless means that if clubs with unlimited money like City and PSG want to they can go ape shit.

Expect Pep will be buying at least 2 new hugely expensive defenders, finally buy a long term Aguero successor/replacement, and maybe even another expensive wide player to replace Sané.

Yes and what are we going to do?

System knows people have become such pussies who will do nothing about things like these.

Cty ban overturned? Clear sign of corruption?

People: shame on u uefa/cas....and move forward.

Meanwhile these institutions get paid to hide evidence and thats it. Money rules everything, its above fair and justice, even in football.

The fact that it was only 5 years ago and they claim its invalid is pathetic. Basically just finding reasons really.

Money talks, it is what it is.

Lets focus on our top 4!

Essentially CAS admits City deliberately mislead UEFA in the previous investigation, but then states that the FFP offences are time barred because of that previous investigation (which came to the wrong conclusions because of City’s misrepresentations) and so they can only punish them for the article 56 failure. Its completely bonkers.

" The CAS award emphasized that most of the alleged breaches reported by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the CFCB were either not established or time-barred. [...] However, considering i) the financial resources of MCFC; ii) the importance of the cooperation of clubs in investigations conducted by the CFCB, because of its limited investigative means; and iii) MCFC’s disregard of such principle and its obstruction of the investigations, the CAS Panel foundthat a significant fine should be imposed on MCFC[...]"

These two don`t make City sound innocent at all. So CAS is saying that city obstructed the investigation but their conclusion is that this is only worth a fine? Hmm, sounds very questionable
