Read that - and it indicates the decision can not be overturned - VAR Principle 1.10 “if play has stopped and been restarted , the referee may not undertake a review except for a case of mistaken identity or for a potential sending off...”. They would argue play hadn’t “restarted” but that is logically impossible at the end of the game so the “stop” takes precedent What does ESPN being an American site have to do with this? Seriously, if you're an attacking player in the box these days you may as well just intentionally try to kick the ball at defenders' arms. You'll likely get a pen under current rules.
