What idiots don't understand about Sturridge is that we didn't let him go, we HAD to let him go. He wasn't going to be our striker which he wanted and his contract was up. So he was going to leave on a free at the end of the season. And, to actually get 12M for him was amazing. If anything they should be praised for getting 12M for a dude who barely played in the first half of the season and whose contract was up in 6 months.

He should have been our main striker, the reason he didn't want to extend his contract is 3 wasted years with only 4 starts as a striker while Floppes has over 100 matches at the club.

Idiots are people who don't think Sturridge is good enough to be our main striker but are happy to watch Mr.Fernando up top loosing the ball and failing to score.

None of the managers played him as striker so not sure what other scenario was ever going to happen. None of the managers seemed to rate him as a striker.

Am I the only one who doesn't see what all the fuss about Coutinho is? Sure, he's very good on the ball and has an eye for a pass, but he often over-dribbles, can't defend and his work-rate is terrible. He leaves his fullback complete exposed and it gets exploited by opposition. In the first half, 53% of Stoke's attacks came from the right, Coutinho's side, while only 18% came from the left.

He wanted to leave because he wasn't given a chance because of Floppes and it was the right choice for him. But not from our board and management.

So you'd rather see him leave for free? Not sure what the alternative was since the managers were never playing as striker. I'm not arguing Sturridge's credentials as a striker but the actual situation he and we were in and that you'd be an idiot to actually think he would have stayed if we didnt sell him.

Did i said that?

That was a poor management to let him rot on bench like that

If he was given a real chance, he would still be there and signed a contract extension

That's exactly our point, managers see Torres as a striker but he can't score and stick the only striker we had who could consistently score goals for us last season as not good enough to start as striker for us.

That's some serious logic, watch Torres play he doesn't even play as a striker manages 2 shots per match at most and is awful inside the box yet managers saw him as a striker?

No they saw him as the most expensive Roman signing a top payed player and their job was to try and make him score and 4 different managers failed to do that.

Seems to be what most fans judge players by even though it accounts for absolutely nothing on the pitch.

The resentment from Chelsea fans about the sturridge situation was not the actual deal which was good business consider the circumstances but rather the fact that we did not give him a chance to be a player for us even though at the time our only other option was to play with 10 vs 12 a.k.a playing with Torres as our striker.

Yeah of course he would have stayed if he was getting his chance at striker, that's all he wanted. But you can't criticize the BOARD, they did the best they could have done in that situation.
