Carlo needs to grow a pair of balls and drop Drogba, anelka or Torres. I would be inclined to do the latter and make him work to get in the team. He needs to change the game plan. Sod it, go 4-4-2, We have done that in games and looked good(villa). We keep getting flooded in midfield and It's seriously fucking me off. it seems to me Roman is sticking his more in again and saying who he wants played. if We don't who champs league ....... bye bye Carlo

It's definitely nothing emotional. The best thing about Ancelotti is that when his tactics work, the football we play is fucking brilliant. Scoring for fun and dominating games like we never did. For that I believe he deserves a proper chance to build his Chelsea, and as we all know 16 Oufield senior players for a team competing in 4 competitions is not a proper chance.

Then again his annoying tendency to highlight his many weaknesses as a manager (rotation, youth management, tactics) often makes me think he's not the top manager we should be seeking stability with.

I absolutely share your concern about Essien, at his best he's one of the best midfielders we've had in the last 10 years, but he's looked like a different player for a while now.

This is the heart of the matter. His weaknesses overshadow his strengths as a manager and his reputation as a cup manager points to that fact.

That's the thing now. what is the long term gameplan. Before Jan 31st it looked like reducing the wage bill, now i'm not so sure. Might aswell give Carlo the season now, although wouldn't be too upset if he went before. After yesterdays resultsit was almost like an act of god to get us back in the race, today we could have completely destroyed any hopes the scum had of finishng 4th too.

Roman brought him in to win the CL and we're stil in it. So you never know. But we need alot of luck, and even if we do win it,I still wouldn't keep him.

The only way I'd keep Carlo is if we started to play well an win league games we should be winning, the CL is a one off cup competition where anything can happen.

The sooner we win the cup the sooner we can get stability. I really want our next coach to adopt the Total Football ideology at the club. Would certainly allow us to function with a good size squad with keeping the wage bill down.

Seems like the defeat was meant to be. I do think a lot of us are overreacting to the loss, probably because it was the worst time and side to lose a game.

Give it time, I honestly think in 2-3 weeks we'll all be jizzing about how well Drogba and Torres complement each other

Im more than prepared to give Carlo a chance.

He won the double and when his teams click the football is un-stoppable and out of this world. He delievered the double during his 1st season and conducts himself with more class than the rest of the premierleague managers put together.

There is all this why doesnt he paly the youngster? well if Bruma made a horror mistake (like Malouda at the Emirates for Example) he would get lampbusted and might take years to re-cover. Given them some expierence in the 1st half of the season and loaning them out in the 2nd half is genius from King Carlo (PVA and Sturridge are becoming key players for their loan clubs and im sure it wont be long before Kakuta follows suit).

Yes we have had a bit of a bad time this season but in previous season's Roman has pressed the panic button and got rid by now so he obviously realises that Carlo is infact the right man for the job.

I am disgusted by all who want Carlo out.We won the fucking double last year so stop being spoiled brats (the fans that are always complaining) and realize not every season will bring trophies and we will have some good and some bad seasons it is just the way things are in football.

In Chelsea Football Club you can have 3 good season in a club, but u have 3 shit months and you are off.So let's just give managers a one year contract and change them every season that should work.I am not talking about you just in general the opinion of most Chelsea fans.

I understand that, but there are some very good points in this thread. Personally I'm split tbh. The club/players are at a stage where we border on the line of "transitional" or "re-building" soon the age of Drogba, Lampard, Terry, A Cole & Anelka will take their toll and most will contemplate leaving/retiring. We then need to carefully think about the future of the club. This stage is where you find your long-term managers, the ones who will build their own team with the players they see fit to sell, buy & promote.

Mourinho years were fun where we won trophies yearly, now the honeymoon period is over, it's time to think long term. If the board want Carlo, then by all means, give Carlo his chance to build. But if they want stability the must stick with him for as long as possible. Even if it's at the risk of a season or 2 without a trophy, as long as their is significant progress in this time it's fine.

Im sure the board wont give him "enough time". Roman didnt bought Torres to have another trophyless season.

Im only worried about the money well have to pay If We sack him in the summer, otherwise he can go to hell with his stupid italian tatics. Bring some new manager with fresh ideas, please.

This.

This is a joke, do people honestly think its that easy to integrate Torres into our system in such a short period? It's time for the players to be liable for their own performances and if we keep replacing managers every other season we will never find that level of stability as a football club.
