Tomo 21,751
Roy is such a poor manager at the top level, my mate is fully behind him and always has a go at me for not being the same and keeps referring to beating Brazil, so what? his Liverpool team beat Chelsea.Only England could turn down Pep for Roy. -Kaplan- 410
Wat I was inebriated. I just meant it takes a lot more than just a sexy team sheet to make a great national side(which is what you have to be to win the world cup). Point in case, Brazil up until the Confederations Cup. Belgium is just starting to gel. While there have been other teams( Spain, Germany, Argentina, Italy) that have been doing well for the last couple of years. Finally, with Chelsea having a significant amount of Belgium players, it's understandable why everyone is getting elated over the Belgium national side. I just don't think it's warranted, as of now. communicate 2,703
If England has always lacked something in players then it's the technical type of players. Steven Gerrard no matter how many may think he is not technical at all. He's a brilliant player and I've even rated him higher than Lampard but he's not someone who should be in the starting eleven.Barkley and Zaha need to start playing more games, Wilshere is one of the best english assets we've had in a long time and since when have we ever had a forward like Daniel Sturridge? So can we stop putting fucking Ricky Lambert up top.HartJohnson-Cahill-Jones-ColeCarrick-WilshereChamberlain-Barkley-RooneySturridgeThat might seem unrealistic but look at what Germany did, we have to start getting these young players in and then maybe we can actually win something for once or at least do well. I want to see England play well and give it a good tournament, not play bad and scrape wins just to get drawn by a good team and then get knocked out. Walcott is only pace, his passing is average, crossing is average, his first touch and ball control is very average. We need players who can cope under pressure, Walcott can't he needs space, unless we are just going to typical England counter attack Walcott is useless for us.But known Roy it's going to be the same stupid team with Gerrard and Lampard in the middle, then Milner and Walcott as our wingers and of course the great Danny Welbeck upfront.I will go for----Sturridge/carrolRooney--------------- Walcott --Lampard/Gerard--Wilshere ----------Carrick

kellzfresh 7,229
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1771196-forget-barcelona-bayern-and-brazil-england-need-to-copy-manchester-unitedWe've got to stop blaming the current England players for our bad performances. It's not James Milner's fault, or Steven Gerrard's fault, orFrank Lampard's fault. The blame lies with the administrators. The FA has employed a procession of third-rate administrators to run a first-class organisation. Finally we have change. Greg Dyke has the teeth and a track record, but he has to take on the Premier League, overhaul grassroots football and coaching, and tackle the directors of the big English clubs.Regardless of Dyke's appointment, what we're sentenced to now is five years of struggle. England will limp across the line to qualify for the 2014 World Cup, we'll do the same for the Euros in France and the 2018 World Cup in Russia.People are always saying we need to follow the examples of Bayern Munich and Barcelona, but I think the answer is closer to home. The best example England could follow is that set by reigning Premier League champions Manchester United.United promote youth. They've had a player raise through their system in the first team for every season since the 1930s. England should do the same—we need to trust the likes of Raheem Sterling and Wilfried Zaha and put them in the starting lineup. It's a mistake to think England should play tiki-taka like Barcelona. United always play with tempo, they move the ball quickly and they don't play long balls. They play with wingers and they approach home games with the swagger and confidence that England should."Attack, attack, attack" is the United way at Old Trafford. England should follow that lead at Wembley. In the same way Spain and Barcelona are variations on the same theme, as well as Bayern and Germany, England should look to United. The FA should mimic the fundamental traits at Old Trafford and allow that mindset to educate how we play. It's time to find out who we are again. For too long, England have had no discernible identity. Do we play long-ball, keep-ball, 4-4-2, with width, with a central defender who carries the ball out? The answer is we don't know, but we should. What I'd suggest is putting together a brain trust of people with the right experience. Where better to start than Sir Alex Ferguson? He might be Scottish, but he'd surely be willing to offer his advice on the subject. I'd consult with Arsene Wenger, also, along with former players who've been there.Gary Lineker would be on that list. I know he's been very critical of England recently, but it's only because he cares deeply—as I do. I know the value to this nation of England's football team being successful.Instead of looking afar and trying to mimic the examples of other nations, it's time The FA identified a successful blueprint closer to home. Manchester United are that example. Somebody should get Ferguson on the phone immediately.I dont normally agree with stan collymore, but i think he's spot on with this

Even though I probably won't remember a moment of it.I think so too!I always love the World Cup, it has such a nicd spirit to it, especially here in South America. Nevertheless, it is often very boring in the Group Stages and people only start paying attention after the Second Round or so. But with the possibility of teams like Belgium and Colombia finishing inside rhe top8 in the Fifa rankings, it can lead to some very exciting groups... The football itself tend to be boring because teams prefer to play extra defensive.
