Blue Colored Sky 1,807
Wanted him gone in the summer but not sure now. Surely either him or Mikel leave because as a two they're "waiste of space" as it is called. Both take the same role as each other, they sit on good mid-wage bill, happy to be even 5th choice, perfect age for squad player, plenty of expierience, little to no ambition to push for place. I think there should be only one of them at the same time in the club. My shout would be Ramires then as he can play multiple roles and occassionally (o-ca-sionally mind) can be seen as classy player.IMO even if we sell him we won't earn much. That 12-15m€ club would get don't change much in transfers as it won't improve chances to get class player. Club has the money and can use them but won't throw it over the top for the player they consider not worth it, so that potential received sum won't be thrown over the maximum they can offer for someone, it doesn't work like that. They would probably use that money to sing a couple of youngsters at best. Therefore I'm ok with Ramires staying. He is happy to be 5th choice even so we can have Matic, Fabregas, RLC and X player ahead of him and he's still here to be valuable number. Magic Lamps 11,692
just like in the Mourinho case an unnecessary and premature extension. Ramires relies on his physical attributes pace and stamina. both will have gone down the drain until 2019 when he will be 32. Still we seem he will be worth in excess of 70k a week then. Incredible. After doing sound business for some years the board is back to being completely braindead. Horrible summer transfer window. then that needless extension of Mourinho's contract and than this just as unnecessary extension of Ramires's working paper. Just plain atrocious. Whoever in charge of this disaster should be fired immediately. Amblève.

petre.ispirescu 4,928
Heard he is 1st on Juventus' shopping list and also entering in his final year of contract with us next summer. By offering him a new deal Chelsea is ensuring that they have the first and final word in the negociations. One is to negociate for a player that could leave for free in six months, other is to negociate for a player with three or fours years left in his contract. Good decision, we can not lose players for peanuts these days. robsblubot, the wes, didierforever and 1 other

stroey 2,525
One of the best players recently, think he's back to his best form. Was very good vs Villa and the reason why we looked more solid, and his tackle started our 2nd goal. One of the first names in the line up for next game. Spike 12,049
Awful, awful, awful player. I don't buy into the 'squad rotation' nonsense. He still an awful player, he is awful when he starts, he is awful when he subs in. A few golazos have pulled the wool over my eyes a few times but I always come back to the same conclusion. Ever since 2012 [during mind you, he was one of the clubs best players] I've seen him as an awful player. He has no sense of positioning, no technique and rash decision making. He can run, run, run, run and run. That isn't good enough for me, that is Championship criterion. Stereotypical English 'he can run a lot' player. Jack Colback, George Boyd and N'Zonzi run a lot, nobody seems to love them. 11Drogba, bethos1, Shaan and 1 other
robsblubot 3,595
@didier we shouldn't have to pick one though - top clubs have players with high work rate who can pick a pass.^^ I wouldn't go that far as I think he can play well enough as a disruptive midfielder with a more defensive role - no B2B or wing. I do agree that he is too limited as a player - similar to what I think of Mikel. Watching Rambo and Mikel as CMs against WHU depressed me.These players belong in a smaller club where the team can play to their strengths, which aren't many. His ability is way below what a club like ours should expect from starters. Mikel should be shipped out ASAP. robsblubot
