We seriously need to buy Sneijder!! He is someone we really need, he's younger than Deco and Pirlo who are both not needed at Chelsea to be truthful.

If we can sign him, sell Deco and then forget about signing Pirlo, I will be happy!!

I dont know where i stand on this one....Ive seen a lot of him over the years and he's an excellent player...Still pretty young with his best years ahead of him too....But i dont know where he would fit into an already over crowded midfield...We would definatly have to loose Deco....But this diamond formation with Sneijder would be good for him but you cant help but feel someone key to Chelsea would have to be left out...Having said that....He seems to be the only player nearly everyone has agreed with signing on this whole forum!

I wont be too upset either way whatever happens TBH.

£21.5m

Dutch international Wesley Sneijder will not be moving to Inter Milan unless the Serie A champions meet Real Madrid’s €25m asking price.

Expected to leave the Bernabeu this summer following an influx of highly-paid stars, the 25-year-old is currently awaiting news on further opportunities. Indeed with several clubs interested in the talented playmaker, the player’s agent has now opened the door for Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester City to make their move.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Soren Lerby revealed:

“For some time there has been talk of a move to Inter for Sneijder, but the reality is that there is nothing happening. A few days ago I heard from someone of Inter, but the problem is the money required by Real.

"Currently, Real Madrid has set the price, so, anyone who wants to buy him should simply satisfy the demands of the club."

"The €25m [£21.5m] referred to seems a lot, but [inter president] Massimo Moratti has recently asked for €40m [£34m] for Maicon, who despite being the best in his role, is still a full-back."

Real Madrid have reportedly lowered their asking price for Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder, increasing the chances of him completing a move away from Spain this summer.

The playmaker has made 52 league appearances - netting 11 times - since joining the Madridistas in 2007.

However, following the expensive acquisitions of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Alvaro Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso, Real are open to offers for Dutch quintet Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Arjen Robben, Roysten Drenthe and Ruud van Nistelrooy, while Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has already joined AC Milan.

Sneijder - who has been capped 53 times by his country - has been linked with moves to Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Inter Milan, with the latter believed to keen to recruit the midfielder as a replacement for stricken Argentine Esteban Cambiasso.

Previous reports suggested that the Nerazzuri were close to agreeing a €7 million deal to take Sneijder on loan for the season, with the option to make the move permanent for an added €13 million next summer.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Real are now willing to accept €15 million for Sneijder's services, paid in three seperate instalments - a deal thought to be much more to Inter's liking.

Inter Milan director Ernesto Paolillo has denied reports that Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder has joined the Serie A champions.

Reports in Italy have claimed that the Nerazzuri have agreed a deal to pay the Madridistas €15 million for the Dutchman's services, after the Spanish giants lowered their original asking price of €20 million.

The playmaker has made 52 league appearances - netting 11 times - after joining from Ajax in 2007.

But following the expensive acquisitions of Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Alvaro Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso, Real are keen to recoup some cash, with Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Arjen Robben, Roysten Drenthe and Ruud van Nistelrooy all available for transfer, while Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has already joined AC Milan.

The former Ajax starlet - who has been capped 53 times by his country - has also been linked with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa during the close season.

But despite the player's agent Soren Lerby confirming that a deal had been agreed between Real and Inter, San Siro head honcho Paolillo has insisted that the transfer is still some way from being completed.

"The affair with Sneijder is concluded? Absolutely not," he told Sky Sport 24.

"When there is something concrete we will let you know. Nothing is defined or determined, we will see in the coming days."
