HNKS 508
Utd spent 34mil on Ferdinand, if they want someone they can and will pay the money, dont confuse ferguson's miserable transfer policy's for them being poor or unable. When did he buy Ferdinand again? He isnt spending huge because he doesnt have the funds end of. He lost the title to city and the only player he bought was Kawagi (spelling?). YouNameIt 1,511
Yes but hopefully Modric realises Sp*rs never win anything and leaves Sp*rs.AVB got a budget of £70m if I read correctly. I actually think spurs will be a threat next season..dont underrestimate AVB.

The Skipper 20,609
Im pretty sure the owners are taking considerable chunks of uniteds revenue. No they aren't. United have huge debts to pay off and that's where most of their earnings go towards, but what they can do is set aside portion of their earnings if they need to, as the loan isn't instantly repayable. jmarlow 458
Our Chances to sign him are low than ever now with avb is his manager.you don't know that yet! It may make our chances better as AVB has a good relationship with RDM and the fact he will probably want Sturridge, so a deal could possibly be made. He knows he has little chance of keeping Modric so you never know.

Slam Dunk 1,442
They're signing Sigurrdson aren't they? Seems inevitable Modric will leave.
bababoom 4,478
Sigurdsson will most likely be a VDV replacement.

Jase 43,479
Is VDV leaving?Possibly. Not a player that will suit AVB's style of play and that 4-3-3.

Your point is? It's not like the Glazers are taking out £71m for their own leisure. Man Utd can afford maybe 1 or 2 high profile signings every season, as they'll recoup the money. If United could get Modric at a reasonable, let's say £30m price, they could.
The Skipper 20,609
Possibly. Not a player that will suit AVB's style of play and that 4-3-3.Not necessarily true. If you look at the 4-3-3 AVB played at Porto, it was more of an inverted one in midfield, with 2 DM's and 1 CM who would join in attack. VDV could be that 1 CM. VDV is decent in that deep lying role too, so he'd still be useful for them. I don't think Spurs would sell tbh.
milanoww 81
http://www.24sata.hr...rlo-brzo-272624According to this croatian site, Tottenham have agreed to sell Luka Modric to Real Madrid for £35m.
Muzchap 8,966
Hmm I work with some Croations and they are saying this is rubbish? They said reports were linking him to everybody last week and it's more likely his Agent trying to push the price (and his fee) north of 40mill euros...If the price is in euros we should definitely wait on making signings as the euro is going to tank soon - general consensus here in Austria where rumours are they are redesigning the Shilling and Germany the 'mark.... If United could get Modric at a reasonable, let's say £30m price, they could.I'm afraid United are always going to have money withdrawn from the club, that's how a successful business works, it's called a dividend. That being said once they float, a majority of the debt shall be written off and they shall be competing in the transfer market.Won't be Fergi though (age) and with new manages comes massive upheaval. Looking forward to that's ?
