[@kierangill_DM] Despite 2 GK’s being on the bench. 👀 Most likely Noni started throwing a hissy fit because he got dropped from the starting line. Needs to be sold in the summer alongside Sterling the poison. Edited December 26, 2024 by TheHulk mkh
DH1988 1,348
I get why people wanted Felix, it's not like he's some God tier player that would change the game, he's simply a different option to what we had on the pitch ie. What we had wasn't working, so you sub, but we didn't so manager is at fault and the players as well. It is what it is, onward.

Much more useful than KDH as Palmer backup. There is no hate. At this level players are good enough or they aren’t; they fit in the system or they don’t. I’m not a fan of Felix’s game tbh, but I much rather have him on the roster than having kids as options like last season when Mudryk was a starter… still Felix is a creative type, not a player who will provide volume of play esp in a match like this. Thought KDH was a CM player never a Palmer backup; he is more of an Enzo backup if anything. Edited December 26, 2024 by robsblubot
NikkiCFC 8,325
Maresca 35 points after 18 games. Pochettino 35 points last 18 games last season! DH1988 1,348
There is only one option for the striker department in January and that's slipping Sporting 85m. In terms of CB, we will have to grossly overpay for anyone half decent, so honestly I'd stick with what we have and invest in the summer providing we make CL football. mkh and bigbluewillie
mkh 596
Enzo Maresca on zero minutes for João Félix: “We decided to sub on Nkunku for Nico… João plays more or less the same position as Cole Palmer”. “They played together already but it’s also a matter of balance”. “That’s why he didn’t enter today”, added via @LloydCanfield. Didn't understand the lack of subs. We needed fresh legs and Maresca has usually been someone who uses the full quota of subs. Gives me the sense that Madueke/Felix are complaining and could agitate to move in Jan. I'd look at strengthening if that is the case since Mudryk is also unavailable mkh

lluubbeenn 174
After an impressive run and questionable results from our rivals we found ourselves in a “title race”. This was the lowest points tally for a team in second place in 15 years on Christmas day. We need to keep calm and continue improving. Noni not being in the squad was a bit too harsh, but let’s see what happens from here on. The injuries are mounting and that makes some of our players complacent as they know they will start. It is what it is and Fulham deserved it as they played a great game. Guiu may not be ready for senior football, but I don’t understand how he doesn’t get a chance. He has a lions heart and you can’t coach that. We must stop the rot against Ipswich. COYB!
coolhead23 1,147
One loss with a draw and the knifes are out 🙂 ... We are on track to achieve the target for this season which is Top 4. Coming together as a team and building that team chemistry is what should be on top along with top 4. I feel we're on track. Enzo subs strategy is something I don't understand specially when we have decently sized squad. Over reliance on Palmer and Jackson should be addressed. Individual errors need to be reduce. Some takeaway which needs to be worked on. Disappointing result but on to the next game!
DH1988 1,348
I wouldn't say the knives are out, more like a head check for the manager and players. Enzo has exceeded expectations and this has highlighted a fault, much like it has with the players in recent games. If it continues into the next game then I'm sure people will be sharpening their butter knives as the lessons aren't being recognised.
Special Juan 28,141
A lot of this falls on Maresca's head, talked about their low block yet left Felix sat on his arse and never made changes like the Marco Silva who reacted to game short falls and changed it and got his subs spot on. Leicester fans moaned of exactly this under Maresca, he needs to start being more proactive Palmer scored his goal and decided his shift was done, Jackson did a lot of ratting about without actually doing anything. You could see this was coming from the moment Wilson scorred, so much so the lads I was sat with I said get £100 now on Fulham to win, predicable and was a very similar game pattern to Brentford, we got lucky getting a second goal against them, we needed it badly against Fulham but we couldn't be arsed Reddish-Blue
