Enzo Maresca Thread

IF the board hires a really bad choice as the new manager we well could see the end of any major chance for winning the league and other big trophies for perhaps a decade or so

if the new manager is absolute shite, all our biggest players will demand to leave, maybe even Reece

also, we still have no shirt sponsor (major loss of revenue for years now)

and the stadium issue looks to not be fully done and resolved until the mid to late 2030s or even later (massive loss of revenue)

Liam fucking Rosenoir. I just cannot believe this. A manager who isn’t even lighting it up in a farmers league and who will surely need even longer than Maresca to wrap his head around PL football.

calm down

its not official yet

it is official

Maresca is gone

Chelsea Football Club and Head Coach Enzo Maresca have parted company.

During his time at the Club, Enzo led the team to success in the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Those achievements will remain an important part of the Club’s recent history, and we thank him for his contributions to the Club.

With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track.

We wish Enzo well for the future.

We had a season where we went from 10th to 1st the following season given a manager change... and we looked completely revitalised.

Inexperience is a cop out. The youngest NBA team won a championship just recently - why? Because they're good enough. On top of that our team is plenty experienced. Played in big finals, CWC, Champions League winners, World Cup winners, etc.

We have a better team than Villa - yet they look miles better. We're significantly better than United and Sunderland... yet you wouldn't know it looking at the ladder.

We don’t have a better team than Villa. Few players better than the ones in their lineup but they’ve consistently been in and around the top 4 for a few seasons now - we marginally pipped them in the only time we finished above them.

They have a settled squad for years + the know how to manage games in this league unlike our squad which is refreshed every year and has super inexperienced players in key areas.

Does anyone honestly believe that Rosenoir will command any respect from the egos in our squad? Or have the autonomy to make big decisions about who to play?

Let’s say for instance he doesn’t fancy Enzo Fernandez and drops him for Andrey Santos who performed so well for him last season will the owners who laid £105m for him allow that? No chance, imo.
