The Next Manager?

I think he is gone, He went to Milan for the pirlo testimonial which might have put a tiny halt on things with regards to him, he should be on his way back to London now.

I think the club is working on the Sarri option at the moment, trying to convince napoli to take conte or come up with a way to get around having to pay BOTH coaches clauses. It is encouraging that Sarri has basically said goodbye to Napoli while also not taking the money from Russia just yet. I'd expect rumors to circulate tomorrow that we have paid the Sarri release clause, followed by a couple days of nobody knowing anything then him being confirmed on the weekend/early next week.

This is just what I think is going on, Roman will look at the sarri style and become too intoxicated with it not to get him here. Jardim is a good choice but less flashy, Jokanovic is interesting but too big of a jump up to Chelsea.

these are just my thoughts on the backroom goings on at the moment, i admittedly know nothing and am most certainly wrong:D

If Conte really stays, I hope the board is 100% sensible about this and discretely checks if all key players are on board with this. I don't mind losing willian or even Courtois but we have to make sure Hazard, Kante, Azpi, Rüdiger stay no matter what.

I have no problems with a bit of continuity at the bridge but I have a few concerns about Conte staying

1)  Even though the board really did not cover itself in glory with the summer signings (esp Drinkwater for 35m wtf) but Conte was extremely childish when not getting his wish. It is not that his rumoured suggestions have always been that great (remember Pelle, Giaccherini, candreva, Morata(!)). We made some fairly decent signings in Emerson and Barkley and have a few absolutely top class youth players coming through the ranks yet he insisted on playing the same out of form players over and over again, then rotated for no reason and completely fucked up the rhythm just to make a point to the board. This should be straightened out at the very first meeting. The board botched the transfer window, fair enough, but the manager still should work with what he got without moaning. You are a professional, behave yourself like one!

2) At some point Conte really looked out of his depth and was unable to provide any new incentives tactically and also motivationally. That really is a worry, because such managers usually turn out to be short-term maanagers like Mourinho, Ancelotti (bar Milan), van Gaal, etc. This 3 at the back must die, at least in matches where we need goals. You can't do shit with 2,3 offensive players with none of them being a true goalscorer and Moses/Zappacosta, Alonso being the one to provide depth, stretch the play, Either upgrade those wingback positions or switch to a system with genuine wingers.

3) Losing the players. We looked so disjointed and made horrendous errors on both ends, that the problem has to be a mental one throughout the squad and it is the managers job  to catch that before we are shit for months. I hope he has learned from the experience.

Tbh i think it sounds reasonable.

For what we know Chelsea could already have payed Sarri´s clause or held talks with ADL about it in a attempt to cut a deal. Rumors from Italy today that Napoli is choosing between Inzhagi and Ancelotti as replacement for Sarri.

But i do wonder about the lock down from Chelsea. Usually there is some club leaks to journalists like Matt Law etc when something is about to heat up, isnt it?

From the Chelsea end, sometimes the journos get it right but majority of the time they are late to the party and reacting. Something like this wouldn't really necessitate a rumour because there have been such expectations for Conte to be fired and bring someone new in. Like i said, i really don't know. I think if the Sarri clause really does expire end of day today, we will know something sooner rather than later because Napoli would move on quick then everything will fall in to place.

Its the usual leaving it till theyve signed for someone else trick from us. It does my head in why we leave things till the last minute. But we have shown that those occasions we do have our shit together and act fast we get things done!

I bet in normal clubs the manager and their director of football sit down with the head scout and will have been workig out their ideas for ages and drawn a list up with different options. We dont even have a football director.

I too like Conte but I just think the knock on effect would now be too damaging. Unless of course he sits and has an open grown up discussion with Eden/Willi/Tibo and whever else wants him gone.

Its plain some of Willis dislike comes off of Luiz's back. With those two being tight Luiz will of course be ranting about Conte and as his mate it will obviously rub off on Willi.

And I always thought Conte/Willi got on after he said such nice things about him when his Mum passed away.

We never know what goes on behind the scenes.

Think anyone wanting Conte to stay is mental. Playing style is dog shit, so bad that i miss Mourinho tactics, impressive accomplishment honestly. He stays we lose our two best players Hazard and Courtois. Top attacking players would not want to play for him, and he will sign more donkeys like Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Alonso and Morata.

He has no plan, his tactics and formation has been found out and he is too stubborn to change them. He did the same thing at Juventus, sign a bunch of donkeys than blamed Juventus board for their failure.

#Napoli’s coach Maurizio Sarri has rejected #Zenit St.Petersburg’s offer, a source has told @CalcioNapoli24. Zenit was ready to pay his €8M release clause. #CFC (via @claudioruss)

Sarri recently revealed: "There is a contract that has a clause worth €8m (£7m).

"We have 10 days [after the final league game] to evaluate the situation.

"The president gave me the chance to coach the team I've supported since childhood, a satisfaction very few people have enjoyed."

However, Sky Italy have since reported that Sarri's release clause expires on May 22, not at the end of the month.

I actually like his videos.  But, I don't necessarily believe everything he says.

Niinii. He always announces 'exclusives' when in truth it is all speculation. In other words, he talks alot of shit.
