Other than that this news excites me greatly, to compete with Pep and potentially José we need top brass and Diego is exactly that, plus I love the way he sets up his team, its like us under José the first time, solid defense with a lot of heart and brutally effective footy. If he comes and makes a decent transfer window, we will be back at the right end in no time. If he does come to the Bridge, I hope he insists on a large transfer kitty to allow him to shape the squad the way he wants it to be as a pre-requisite. Blue Colored Sky 1,807
The info about Simeone comes from ex-director of Marca. Him https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduardo_Inda . And I asked a friend and he told he is reliable. Then everyone has stolen this info and you have this even in English Express or The Sun as a done deal. But for me nothing is done yet. IMO all 4 options are viable Simeone, Sampaoli, Conte and Allegri. Each week there's a tipping point and one looks the most likely but everything seems open. Gimenez, Griezmann, Carrasco, Oblak, Mandzukic off the top of my head are his notable sanctions and they were all great. Only Jackson Martinez flopped epicly. The thing Simeone excels at, in my own view, he manages to bring in players directly. Lots of recent Atleti players have came back from loans or directly from the youth system and he's integrated them great. He actually sold an amazing CB in Miranda to promote Gimenez and he is great. Kranevitter and Thomas Partey have been great. Dunno, I think Simeone would be the best choice. Tomo

Jase 43,479
I'm slightly skeptical about Simeone to be honest. Yes, he has done extremely well at Atletico Madrid but it's worth noting that Simeone is Atletico Madrid and Atletico Madrid is Simeone. They fit each other perfectly like a glove to hand and because of that, Simeone is able to galvanize his players, the fans to roar on the team. Will he able to get the same kind of response from the group of players and fans that we have? On top of that, Simeone's playing style might not be as negative as Mourinho's but as someone pointed out, he still has a tendency to be negative in the certain big matches, like in the Champions League against Real away last season and the final in Lisbon. If people were already complaining about that when we were under Mourinho, will the same fellas deal with the same approach from Simeone? CJRead 5
I'd happily take Simeone, probably an unpopular opinion but I admire his win at all cost mentality. Sure it's enjoyable to win games 5-0, 6-3 but if it doesn't win trophies is it really worth it? I'd happily win 1-0, 2-0 most games and win titles. Thoughts? I thought they were ok vs madrid, they were coming on strong towards the end of the 1st leg, and in the 2nd leg too before the red card.
