Sad but true. With the way the players have given up, there's no chance of UCL next season (which may actually be a good thing as Blueco won't be able to sign any big name flops). That gutless performance against Newcastle's second rate midfield said it all. They let Woltemade, Murphy and co run around the pitch without doing anything. No sense of urgency, playing at home, you should be trying to force a goal rather than pass the ball around for stats. Not sure what happened to Enzo, Caicedo, Palmer, even Pedro....all of them appear to be in 2nd gear and going through the motions. After the United game, the club should just play some youngsters like Walsh, Shim and others and give them experience for next season as we'll be out of the UCL race by a mile. Poor kid, hasn't played a lot injury aside, should be one of the first names on the team sheet but is played one and benched for two. Players are unsure of their instructions and what to do on the pitch. Our source says that six months ago, it was a tight-knit group and players knew their roles. Now, relationships are turning sour and some of the players just want the season to end. Around 75% of the squad are weighing up their options this summer. After the Everton game, there was some ‘disagreements’ Obviously this stuff is all just natural occurrences after a bad run of results, but it’s the players not understanding their roles thing that concerns me the most at the moment. 🫡😵😵💫🤬 Edited yesterday at 11:28 by mkh Fulham Broadway, Reddish-Blue and Laylabelle
Fernando 6,714
Obvious because Maresca was like Pep in the way they instructed how players to be position and some players thrive in this. Otheres don't like it. But once that went and you get a downgrade like Liam, who the board loved and gave 6 years then I'm sure the players now realize that the board have no clue what they are doing and want out. I don't blame them...however it's never cool to down tools as people often say. Special Juan 28,698
I will make a statement.....this bloke is under serious pressure, make no mistake about it, he is literally on deaths door and after the internationals we will see exactly what will happen. United, after Port Vale we have United at home, City at home and then away to Brighton, he won't make the Man United game as City will hump us and the daft project idiot will be left with his arms folded and no note pad. The club need to take this international break and I mean NOW and start working on who is coming in to replace him, not after in hope we beat Port Vale, have the sacking ready and the next in line ready. There is a massive possibility we do not win another league game this season based on this form, and that's fucking scary

Its not even 'downing tools', if the manager can't get the respect of the key players, they can choose not to perform and play in 2nd gear. There are some similiarities with young AvB trying to shake things up (which ultimately failed). It was obvious that the PSG game killed this squad. You don't change goalkeepers in a critical game just because you feel one is good with the ball at his feet. If Liam has any managerial ability, he should come up with something for the next 2 home games.....otherwise all I see is two more humiliating losses. Maybe that's part of the plan for Enzo, cause a bit of a stir with ownership and assuming the club flops and misses out on UCL next season, get your agent to start pushing for a move to La Liga?
