Oh for the love of god! Yes, we know Lampard is a risky appointment, riskier than usual, but can people just stop predicting all doom and gloom before anything has even happened?! He might do badly or he might even do well! No one knows right now! So, how about we see what happens before passing judgment?

Just hope the board don't expect miracles and he is given time. Their appointment. They know the deal and what he's having to deal with. Don't think anyone could work miracles with the squad and they can't add to it and all.

Tbh I think he'll be okay. Given the situation daft to have super high expectations and being who he is he'll have the fans backing.

Looking forward to seeing him back and what he can do

Dont forget AVB just won a treble and everyone got excited because his background was a little similar to Jose's.  I wouldn't say it was that risky.

I think Lampard didnt improve on Derbys league position or even points from the previous season. If this was anyone else but Lampard everyone would be in meltdown.

I'm not convinced players will automatically respect Lamoard because todays generation seem to lack respect in football.

I think United fans realise Jose wasnt joking when he said his best achievement was finishing 2nd with United. It doesnt look like Ole has the respect from all the players and they really struggle with player power and egos such as Pogba.

Would love Lampard to do well and have the club introduce roles for other ex players like Drogba, Terry and Ash.

I just think it's too early for Lampard. We have a transfer ban and ideally want to finish in the top 4 to attract signings with champions league football. Surely you look for someone with experience because if results go bad then the pressure will be huge.

If by Christmas, we are out of the top 4 and CL then I could easily see him being sacked.

Who else is there? We have gone through so many managers and thanks to some dodgy deals we are transfer banned again!

Why do they never learn?

Man City can thank us on being an example of how not to run a football club with a billionaire owner.

Nobody predict doom and gloom. I only explain what happen to Ole, and i can see similar thingwith lamp if we are going through rough patch because it will happen and in United case Ole is always blameless.

For me, I don't get with Chelsea fans who want Lamp to manage us next season. He is a loved Chelsea legend, he can be our manager anytime he want. It is better for him to develop more as a manager and for us to have better squad where he can have better chance to be successful.

PSG is worse

look at the insane money they burn and no non-French trophies

other than these defunct MINOR Cups (as if you were in the CL or even the Europa League in the Intertoto case, you could not play in them)

Would Messi or Ronaldo or any footballer get caught up in the moment like Lamps did. Those two preening bellends will never have a connection like Frank has with us if a fan went to embrace those two pricks they'd probably get nicked. Forget money and fame this is what football is all about the absolute fucking euphoria..

FIVE REASONS FRANK LAMPARD SHOULD NOT BE CHELSEA MANAGER – DEBUNKED!

http://www.famouscfc.com/five-reasons-frank-lampard-shouldnt-be-chelsea-manager-debunked/

Chelsea fans are excited that Frank Lampard may be named our new manager but there are a few naysayers.

Here are a few reasons Frank Lampard should not be Chelsea manager debunked.

Reason #1 He’s Not Ready

He may have only managed Derby County for one season but he has exceeded expectations and almost got an unfancied side promoted.

There is actually some pedigree down the years for inexperienced managers coming good. At Chelsea Glenn Hoddle, Ruud Guillit and Gianluca Vialli kickstarted the revolution that led us where we are today.

Lampard has footballing pedigree that goes beyond a CV, there is no guarantee he will succeed but he has a good a chance as anyone.

He has also played under Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Guus Hiddink, Sven Goran Erikson and many more in between.

The man knows football.

Reason #2 There Are Better Candidates

True and they still manage to attract some of the worlds best players which is annoying

Who ever comes in is walking into a pile of shit anyway.

Lost out best player

Striker options are awful.

Apart from Kante our midfield is very suspect.

Back 4 aint too bad but does need improving.

Theoretically it would be great to accept the state the club are in and use the ban as an opportunity to play a lot of the young players we have at the club and out on loan last season. We could build from there but I dont think Roman has the patience to wait 2,3,4 years until a new team is built and ready to challenge again.

Although I hate them but you have to admire Liverpool for putting faith in Klopp. Look at the team he has built now and they play his style of play. Fair enough liverpool haven't won a league since the dark ages but maybe Roman needs to accept we arent anywhere near what we were.

Miles away from catching City in the last few seasons. We haven't been competitive in the CL since our 2014 semi final exit.

Throwing money around to get a good player in and expecting the manager to fit them in the team does not work most of the time.

If you look at how good City are and the players they have, it really does show how far away we are from challenging.

City, Liverpool, Arsenal, United, Spurs all could potentially strengthen this season.

And I'm going to say it...

The only person I could see us getting who could grind us out a top 4 finish is Jose. It wouldn't be pretty though.

Is there really a difference? You practically still predicted a difficult situation that may or may not happen.

Lampard is a riskier appointment than most at this point but at the same, he offers something new, fresh and brings a different level excitement, intrigue. If we were to go with one of the other managers mentioned - Allegri, Blanc, Gracia etc - it would feel like more of the same. Said it previously, we have gone with more experienced/successful managers in the past and gotten nowhere with it. Maybe going with someone up-and-coming, someone with fresh ideas might just be the thing that will help move us forward.

Plus, given the nature of this job, does Lampard really have much to lose? Past managers have come and gone and still gotten jobs elsewhere. If Lampard doesn't do well, he can point to the difficult circumstances. If he does well, it will only enhance his reputation. Obviously, we're in a difficult situation right now but since when has Lampard not loved a challenge and proved people wrong?

Also, success doesn't have to be about winning trophies all the time. With our current situation, if Lampard can rebuild the squad, integrate young players, lay the foundation for the future, then I think he would have done more than good and be considered a success. If we have to take a step back and suffer to take two-three steps forward, then so be it. It's about F time we press the reset button rather than trying to patch things up with a band-aid and play along without actually going in any direction.

Yep, and he knows well all the players more than anyone else. The promised will be, if we get a decent result, he got the full backup next season. Sadly, it is only daydreaming.

I'm blue, so even if Kermit the Frog will be our manager, I will still support this club. So welcome, Chelsea Legend Lampard.
