jernej93 569
I am really starting to like Allegri Great perfomance by Juventus tonight, they have outplayed flying and attacking Napoli ... their winning streak is now 15 games long #impressive

Allegri once again showed what a tactical genius he really is. He let them attack for most of the game knowing that their only threat beside counter-attacking is Higuain. His trust in Barzagli's and Bonucci's ability to contain Higuain, the best player in the league right now, really payed off. Those two were god tier, especially Barzagli who imo positionally and instinctively is the best in europe. Morata was taken off at a perfect time and Dybala>Sandro was a bit of genius. Sandro contributed a lot to Zaza's goal. Juve as a unit defend best in Europe. And it's crazy good how their backline played in an unfamiliar formation without Chiellini. There's a lot less motivation to come here for both Simeone and Allegri. Both are managing top clubs that will be in the CL next season and competing for the local leagues. This will not be the case at Chelsea. Make no mistake, at the moment it would be a step backwards for both of them. It would take an immense desire for a new challenge or, more likely, a decision based almost solely on money and wages, to bring either of them here. Well, pretty cheap to assume it will be a step backward just because Chelsea is not playing in UCL, its the same thing as saying a Basel's coach or Andre Villas Boas won't be interested in Chelsea job because Basel and Zenith are UCL team's and they are competing for the local leagues. Both Simeone and Allegri know they don't have realistic chances of winning the UCL in their current teams for the next 5 years considering the lack of financial support, and its easier to imagine Chelsea playing a UCL final in 2018 than Atletico or Juventus. Chelsea won't be finishing in the top 4 because of a unusual start of the season caused by a toxic environment created by Mourinho. Simeone also knows he will always face an unfair competition from Real and Barcelona, to the point that in a season that everything is perfect for Atletico, and Barcelona is in crisis, the catalan side still manage to fight for the trophy until the last game of the season. I really doubt Simeone or Allegri would drop the chance to join Chelsea because of "a step backwards", because its easy to understand Chelsea is an upgrade for them. The only reason that they might be less motivated is the fear of Big Roman's axe. Fernando, Rmpr, Blue-in-me-Veins and 1 other

Atletico have been constant contenders for the CL for the past few seasons (were literally seconds away from winning it in 2014) and Juve were in the final last season and one of the strongest contenders this season. What are you even talking about there?! Both Atletico, and especially Juve, have much better squads than ours at the moment and how likely a team will be to win the UCL in 5 years depends largely on how they are managed till then but they definitely have a head start advantage on us. Certainly in the next couple of season they are more likely to be competing for the UCL than us. It was especially weird to read you saying that Juve and Atletico definitely won't win the UCL in the next five years after just reading a comment you made in the PSG match thread saying that you think Chelsea could win the UCL this season! It was especially weird to read you saying that Juve and Atletico definitely won't win the UCL in the next five years after just reading a comment you made in the PSG match thread saying that you think Chelsea could win the UCL this season! 1- Chelsea won in 2012, and that team was way weaker than the current side. 2- Atletico is not a real contender, 2014 season was a unusual season. Juve reached the final, but they never had a chance against Barcelona in the final, and both teams don't have enough resources to stay strong in the long term. Porto and Monaco were in 2004 UCL final, Inter was in 2010 and Borussia was in 2013. In all those it was clear those teams were not going to emulated the same performances in subsequente seasons, and its the same for Atletico and Juve. 3- Juve is not one of strongest contenders this season, sorry. What are you even talking about there? Juventus has no chance against Bayern. 4-Atletico squad against Barcelona: Oblak; Juanfran, Godin, Gimenez, Filipe Luis; Koke, Saul, Gabi, Augusto, Carrasco; Griezmann. Do you really believe this squad is better than Chelsea? Thats pretty laughable and speaks loud about Mourinho's ability to make other teams look better than they really are. 5- Juventus squad against Napoli: Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Bonucci, Barzagli, Evra; Cuadrado, Khedira, Marchisio, Pogba; Morata, Dybala. Well, thats better than Chelsea? You night say both Juventus and Atletico's squad are in the same level as Chelsea, but saying those line ups are "much better squads than ours" doesn't make ANY kind of sense. 6- When you just realize some of those stats: http://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2015/05/06/real-madrid-tops-ranking-of-the-worlds-most-valuable-soccer-teams/#5d744edc3b36 http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2015/05/06/soccers-richest-sponsorship-deals/#6944f0d23a75 http://www.forbes.com/soccer-valuations/list/ its really weird to imagines Juventus and specially Atletico "are more likely to be competing for the UCL than us". I will say again, anyone who look the bigger picture can easily realize that Chelsea is a step above for both Allegri and Simeone. BlueLion. 21,491
Regardless of how shit we have been this season, there are only three teams worth fearing in the UCL: Bayern, PSG, and Barcelona. Because they're the three best teams in the world right now, in my humble opinion. And we arguably have a psychological edge over two of those (Your City, Your Stadium, Our Trophy, etc.), whilst the third of those are so evenly matched with us - a 3-3 win and a 3-3 defeat?! Real Madrid are so horrendously over-rated and struggle whenever Cristiano can't be bothered turning up. Atletico continue to massively over-perform, and Juventus are a weaker side without Tevez and Vidal. If we beat PSG we can beat anyone, especially with Diego and Willian in their current form. We have the potential to go far in the UCL because we have a good team, and that alone is enough to attract a top manager. The only issue is that I genuinely feel there are only three "top" managers in world football, and we sacked one of them earlier this season. The second is already going to City, and third is unlikely to leave Atletico. Spike and Henrique
