I don’t see the point of him filling in for Mount when we already so many options upfront to do so.

If we sell Zouma, we will likely then have to get a replacement because that would leave us with just 3 out-and-out CBs and one of them is soon to be 37 years old while another 2 is like half-CB and half-RWB at the moment.

Romagnoli is there for the taking at a cut rate price compared to what was wanted in the past

then there is Maxence Lacroix and Sven Botman

finally, IF he really wants out and Pep truly is putting him up for sale, there is Laporte, who I absolutely still rate

Both Romagnoli and Laporte are left footers as well.

Any of these 4 are a big upgrade over Zouma, and selling him covers a lot of the cost

If we need a veteran striker, Benzema is the one (who is also unavailable) to go for. CR7 is far too greedy to pump up his stats to be in this side.

Tbh, the RCB gets played as a Half Back in the current system. Not sure you need a 'real' CB for the position. Dave and James are fine imo for that position.

The problem is next season when Rudiger, Christensen, Azpi and Silva's contracts finish. We will be left with Zouma and Ampadu with no planning. A CB around Christensen's age, e.g. Romagnoli, would set us up in that position for a while. 

I think we have more pressing matters, and letting someone like Ampadu play 5th or 6th CB isn't the worst idea, even if Zouma is sold. Tuchel seems to spot player talent better than Lampard and I'm guessing a full preseason will allow him to see what we have. I think we might see one or two surprises a la Moses under Conte.

Well, either we get a RWB then or an out-and-out CB.

If we sell Zouma, we'll have only 3 out-and-out CBs in Rudiger, Christensen and Silva and I'm not sure Silva's fitness, especially, will hold up for an entire season. If one of them gets injured, then James or Azpi will be moved to the middle three, then leaving the other one for the RWB slot with no backup. Of course, Tuchel could switch to a back 4 or CHO can be used as a RWB but god knows where he is now in Tuchel's mind.

We will sign Traore or promote Livramento. We have CBs coming back from loan and in the academy too. We need to find ways to utilise what we have before spending a 30-40m of squad players. Especially if we want to buy Haaland or Mbappe.

Because our depth is 1. We have 3 MFs competing for 2 spots. If Kante gets injured, we can't win the league with Jorginho/Kovacic pivot.

agree. we completely ran jorginho and kante in the ground after kova's injury and it bit us. we need another one for cover.

I think it's because a loan is the best thing for the players development. Keeping him here to play half a role another season will stunt his growth. Gallagher spent last season at West Brom, I think he's ready to cover. I would definitely prefer someone like Barella or Locatelli to improve us though.

I suspect Gallagher will go on loan again. Tuchel reportedly wants a midfielder signing.
