imo I believe Chelsea will put in a bid will it be accepted who knows.

I believe he said that in Romano's podcast where he was a guest speaker to talk about Haaland.

If Dortmund's internal deadline for 1st week of August is true (which I would be inclined to believe) then we'll know something soon enough. Either the club will soon step up and go all-in with a massive bid that's simply too good for Dortmund to refuse or just give up on the whole thing. Whatever happens it won't drag till the end of the window, which is good for everyone.

What if Chelsea put crazy offer

It could possibly change the situation but we would have to do it quickly (see Jype's post above).

Raiola wants a new meeting

Not sure if Raiola would really push for the move at this point. If he had wanted to, he would have done so long ago I'd imagine.

And this is Kehl's full quote...

lol Hainer is a corrupted child-enslaver and Blatter-buddy. he spews lies for fun. would not believe a word he says.

So you're saying that there's a chance we might sign Lewandowski then? 🤪

So Lukaku strongly and definitively ruled out. Likewise Lewandowski. Kane is impossible for obvious reasons. Griezmann’s wages are apparently so stratospheric that he’s a no-go. Plus he only wants to live in Spain.

Ironically, Haaland is the only one that hasn’t been 100%, stone cold locked to stay. It’s always “well, we don’t expect him to leave.” Or “we’re planning with Erling.” As though if a massive enough bid comes in and Haaland indicates he’s willing to go they’ll at least listen.

Still, not looking likely for any of the very top crop. Maybe there’s something creative the club have lined up as a contingency. Or perhaps we just try for Rice and wait til next summer for a striker.

Kounde is a good buy at this time. He is young and is a good passer. We have not have a good ball CB since David Luiz.

If he can defend a bit better then David Luiz then worth it. If not sell him since he is young.

I remember Ashley Cole was small as well and that didn't stop us from winning things.

After Kounde I assume the CM will be a big player, like Rice. I wonder if SMS is still good?

I guess I have to post same thing I posted earlier today...

Monchi explained why they rejected great offer from City.

https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-kounde-transfer-news-19270079

Also Kounde said that Pep called him.

https://www.football-espana.net/2020/11/23/sevillas-jules-kounde-admits-he-spoke-with-pep-guardiola-about-move-to-manchester-city

They also wanted KK before Dias but Napoli wanted 100m which City did not want to pay.

Dias was 3rd option.

Kounde was linked with United, City, Spurs, Chelsea, Barca, Real... They all probably know a thing or two about footy...

And about Varane... He had this low price all summer, but apart from United he was not linked with anyone?

Stats Varane vs Kounde:

Fair enough but again, I still think there is a bit of overhyping on him. I mean I doubt City are kicking themselves either after seeing how good Dias has been (wanted us to sign him and Laporte ourselves in both those seasons they moved). As I said in the first post, Kounde is a good player but still has got to play at a high level consistently. Huge potential but potential is potential.

Also throwing in a stats comparison between Varane who probably had the worst season of his 10 years at Real Madrid (which again he wasnt even that bad) against someone who had arguably his best season at Sevilla isn’t exactly going to convince anyone who has seen Varane play regularly since he started at Madrid that Kounde at €80m is a better buy than a World Cup winner who has also been part of a team thats won 18 trophies for £41m.

Which is why I am baffled we didn’t consider a move for him considering the original links a while ago. £41m is a steal.

While i agree there's question marks over his suitability to the PL calling him bang average is just wrong on many levels.

I'm not going to wish ill on any player in blue, I hope he does well and proves me wrong, from what I have watched of him during last season, forget the Euros, I see nothing special and I'm concerned this is our level of target.

Like I said, hope he proves me wrong and is a worldy.

I guess it's close to what you both suggested. @Jype @Superblue_1986

That doesn't seem too outrageous, and if the fee was 30M€ up front+ 5M€ add-ons then even better. Hopefully that will be enough for Sevilla.

Basically that would mean the club traded Guehi, Tomori and Zouma for Koundé and got almost 20M€ cash on top.
