Everything about him seems no to me.

Will be interesting to see if rumours of Ziyech potentially leaving come to anything, though.

Has there even been anything about Ziyech leaving be it (a) he wants to leave or (b) the club want to sell him or (c) a club are interested in him? All I've seen is some folks here wanting the club to sell him.

Mate, it is only a week since we won the CL, I really wouldn't worry about it at this point. I agree the clubs record, post a big trophy is pretty dire but last Summer was a big step in the right direction.

Furthermore, the club are very tight lipped about any transfers, so don't believe what you read. I mean up until yesterday they were telling us Giroud was going to Milan when he actually signed an extension in April so lets face it, they know about as much as me and you, which is feck all, as to who the targets are.

Compared to past summers after we won something big, the current squad doesn't need a major surgery or many signings. Apart from maybe the striker position, the other areas would need just some smart signings to improve the team as opposed to going for someone big (even though we might still do that lol).

I just hope whatever business we do doesn’t happen right at the last minute. Would be great to have our business done early so we don’t panic buy some striker on a punt who isn’t good enough. I would hope the club and Tuchel especially have identified “the one” long ago and are now going hard behind the scenes to secure him.

TT has made it crystal clear to the club hierarchy with his team selections for months that he doesn’t fancy Tammy or Giroud. No excuses not have started the hunt for a new #9 long ago.

Well, I would argue CF and CM are absolutely vital. I think what R2 was principally talking about were our Summers in 2010, 2015 and 2017. At those times people also said we didn't need big investment and we went out and brought the like of Yossi Benayoun, Bakayoko and Baba.

For me, regardless of what your team does you need to go out the following window and get a decent player of two to mix things up a bit to keep people on their toes. This Summer requires a CF and a CM and the likes of Drinkwater or Batsh*t (like we have done in previous years) isn't the answer.

Like I said, I am not too worried about this, as I do think the club will do good business, however I do understand why some people are worried.

if Arrizabalaga leaves on Loan Romero would be a good backup goalkeeper.

We should be all over Sam Johnstone. Fills an English quota box too.

Aston Villa have set fresh price for Man Utd and Man City target Jack Grealish, claims Gabby Agbonlahor

https://metro.co.uk/2021/06/05/villa-set-fresh-price-for-man-utd-city-target-jack-grealish-claims-agbonlahor-14723272/

Gabriel Agbonlahor has ‘heard’ Jack Grealish will be staying at his former club Aston Villa and revealed they will command a fee of £130million to let him leave.

Grealish has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester, with Premier League giants Manchester City thought to be leading local rivals Manchester United in the race to sign him.

The Aston Villa captain enjoyed a sensational season in England’s top flight, scoring six goals and providing 10 assists for his team-mates in 24 starts.

He has been handed the famous No. 7 shirt for England at the postponed Euros this summer and has been tipped to move on to one of the Premier League’s elite clubs after the tournament.

However, Agbonlahor – who spent his entire playing career at Villa Park – has been told that Grealish won’t be taking the plunge and will instead stay in Birmingham, with Dean Smith’s side investing in the squad again.

‘Jack Grealish will stay, is what I’m hearing, and Villa will invest as well,’ Agbonlahor told talkSPORT Breakfast.

You have literally said it so yourself - it's only been a week since the season ended and with Euro 2020 taking place this summer, it's not going to be straightforward or fast to complete a transfer especially if that player is playing at the tournament. Some of the agitation that has been going on around here seems to be down to people's transfer fantasy not happening more than anything else.

I don't disagree that we need some additions but again, compared to past summers or those years you mentioned, the current squad is much better than those back then. We have already got good players coming through the academy and we already spent big last summer. 2-3 new additions needed yes but at the same time, it's also about improving the current group of players that we have, something that Tuchel has already spoken about and is relishing to do.

Getting a new striker may or may not happen for obvious reasons. Spurs won't sell Kane to us. Haaland isn't going anywhere. Lukaku already said he wants to stay at Inter and Inter don't want to sell him, although that could depend if they are able to sell 1-2 others but even then, not everyone seems to think he's good, including you. Other than those 3, there's no one obvious and we would then have to take a risk with someone low key. Either that or we somehow stick with what we have, including Giroud.

Calciomercato is hardly a reliable source, is it...?

Even if they are interested, how much can Napoli and especially Milan afford for Ziyech when he still has 4 years left on his contract? The latter are/were haggling for weeks over the 20m+ fee for Tomori. Imagine how they would react if we set a 40-50 million price for them.

I can now see the reasoning behind keeping Giroud for another year

With the shortage of top strikers available it would've been a big risk moving on both Giroud and Abraham's. We'll at least get a decent fee for Tammy,  so it makes sense for him to be the one they let go.

Looks like Borja might well be givin his chance next season, which would be exciting to see.

Abraham's will be a decent/good top half of the table player, but I doub't he'll ever be a good, top four level player who'll help a team challenge for the title

If we're looking to move players on, we're going to have to accept we're in difficult times and be prepared to accept offers a fair bit lower than we might want.

Best to just move on the deadwood  for whatever we can get and get them off the wage bill.

I warned on this for years. There even was some cunt (worst poster on football here my entire time in here, and one of only 2 people I have ever blocked) who accused me of not understanding basic fiduciary bookkeeping, roflamoooo.

I said that we would end up losing around half a billion quid in potential net monies on the balance sheet versus what we could have had if not for botched sales, refused sales, horrid contractual management, shit buys, botched buys, etc etc. I fully stand by that. Some of the turn downs to GOOD offers (some even insanely good) drove me mental. We will even less than what I projected 1.5 to two years ago, and Kante was not included, nor ever will be included in any of the calculations.

You would be hard pressed to find any club that would be willing to take a loss on someone that still has 4 years left on the contract.

In Ziyech's case, there's no reliable source that says he wants to leave or the club want to sell him at the moment. For all we know, Tuchel would probably look to get more out of him next season and/or Ziyech himself wants to give it a good go next season. This first season, this past season has not been easy on anyone. Also, trying to sell Ziyech and find a replacement would also give us unwanted problems when we already trying to look for key additions in other areas.

Borussia Dortmund have placed an £172M asking price on Erling Haaland to try to deter the interest of #Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd and Real Madrid this summer.

Still worth it. If Mbappe and Neymar went for around that much then Haaland is worth it as well. He’s going to score more goals than either and will be a perennial Balon D’or contender if he continues to develop.

Waiting until next summer when every top team in Europe will be rolling out the red carpet and begging him to join them is dumb.

If this were like most summers where we’ve needed 5 new top players I’d understand not being able to spend mega money on a striker. But this summer we need just minimal investment. With the money we’ll get from selling a few like Tammy, Giroud, Emerson, etc plus prize money from winning the CL and finishing top 4 we can easily afford £150m for Haaland.

It’s similar to Havertz or Werner last summer. United will spunk their load on Sancho and a CB, City want Kane and Grealish, the Spanish giants are broke and making a bunch of free transfers, Bayern have Lewandowski and would never spend £100m on a player, and Juve have players in his position. We can take unique advantage here before his release clause next summer takes effect and suddenly a dozen different clubs can make a move for him.

Really is now or never for us in my opinion. We can’t allow him to sign for a PL rival where he’d kill us and own the league for the next 5-10 years.

It's not going to happen this summer, Pizy...

Dortmund already said they won't sell Haaland this summer. They are already gonna let Sancho go this time, they're not gonna their two biggest stars go in one window.

Also, that 170 million is just the transfer fee. The wages, the agent fees and other similar costs haven't even been taken into account. It would cost more than 200 million and would pretty much use up our entire transfer budget when we still look to strengthen other areas.

Go for Håland next year on the cheap. Buy MBAPPE now. 150m to 175m euros (£129m to £150m) .

They lose him on a free next season. That price means we basically swapped Eden cash for Mbappe, if you look at it from a long term, multiyear view.

Mbappe can play CF, and is IMHO the best player on the planet in a year (as Lewa ages out), maybe even now.
