Following this logic, it is questionable wheter we can consider Jackson as a true striker aswell. He is closer to Joao Pedro than Delap, definetly not a classic 9 or poacher. His passes, runs and dribbles seem to be his biggest strenght, not his finishing. What I dislike about Jackson is that he is looking for his teammates too much, a striker must be a bit selfish and shoot when there's chance. Joao Pedro very impressively took his shots from longer distance against Fluminense, and also finished his 1-1 very elegantly, good to have a player who is able to do that things. Delap also didn't hesitate much against PSG, find his chances and fired.

Doesn't sound like Jackson at all

How different things might have been had they beaten Spurs.

I'm still not sold on Amorim, tbh. He might have only been in charge for a few months, but just at the stark contrast between his impact & Pereira at Wolves.

Thank Goodness Spurs did beat them, many Chelsea fans wanted a United win not thinking or bothered how adversely it would have affected us. Real stupid.

Ekitike to Newcastle can only mean one thing, sadly. Isak will be going to Liverpool. Surely no chance Newcastle have an £85m backup striker and I can’t imagine the player himself would go there to play second fiddle.

Noises out of Newcastle is this might be ascension planning. They may go into this season with both and sell Isak next year

Romano suggesting we are done signing players and will only enter the market to replace Jackson and Nkunku.

Who is back up to Cucurella, who played 5,000 minutes this season?

Seems like a CB is part of the plan.

We currently have 10 - Fofana Tosin Chalobah Disasi Colwill Badiashile Sarr Josh Veiga Anselmino

Problem is none of them want to leave. They love the luxury

🔵Paez, Penders and Anselmino are earmarked for loans to Strasbourg this season.

Chelsea are open to adding wide player, with long term interest in Alejandro Garnacho since January. Chelsea also admire Morgan Rogers.

Borussia Dortmund are keen to re-sign Carney Chukwuemeka on loan with an option to buy, but Chelsea prefer a straight sale.

I think Jackson and Nkunku are nailed on to leave now, it may have been up for debate had Pedro not come in and pulled up tress with 3 goals in two games and Delap has started well and all the signs are very positive from him.

Please, no Garnacho for that left side, anyone but him

NJ an unused sub in the final says it all for me. He's got to be out, manager simply doesn't trust or rate him anymore.

Nkunku seems to have been redeemed in Maresca's eyes but I imagine the club will want to get his wages gone, even if his form has improved a bit he's no where near being an important player for us who should be on big money.

I think moving NJ on is not gonna be easy. Italian clubs won't put in a bid so the club will need United to come in with an offer (Arsenal are close to signing Gyokeres, Newcastle are in talks for Ekitike and Villa have financial issues)

Tend to agree with this. Unless it was just Maresca sending a message to NJ that he needs to grow up and that he will be buried in the bench if he doesn’t work his ass off.

But I think it’s more likely that he already has multiple suitors and we didn’t want him to get injured before a big move.

Kind of strange how he seems so highly rated on the internet yet hasn’t really been linked with anyone this summer and no big clubs have moved aggressively for him yet.

Many of my targets are like that, it has been that way for years.

I really don't give a tinkers about internet/social media rumour whores and straight up lying major sites/newspapers.

Yeah, I think they'll ask for a decent price for NJ and be prepared to hold onto him if he doesn't go for it (he's on low-ish wages after all). Wouldn't surprise me if they end up loaning him to a very attacking team in an easier league that will let him rack up the goals and inflate his price a bit. But when I say he's out, I just mean I don't think he's really part of the clubs plans anymore and the direction of travel is exit.

Nkunku I imagine they'll be in more of a hurry on simply because of his wages.

I get the feeling Bayern will try to strike a cheap deal for Nkunku as they know we would be happy to get his wages off the books.   He'd probably do pretty well with Kane & Olise and they need another striker/attacker with Musiala's bad luck at the CWC.
