Arse already had the best CB pairing in the league BY FAR with Saliba & Gabriel. They then bought Hincapie & that kid from Spain who are both top quality depth. And now it’s coming out that they want Guehi.

Meanwhile, look at us. This is how insanely far we’ve fallen. Fucking Arsenal may soon have FIVE CB’s that are better than every single one of ours on their way to pissing the league and as the favorites to win the UCL. A club for the last 20 years we’ve laughed at and taken the piss out of as we have owned London.

Absolutely depressing.

Would be surprised if their interest in Guehi is real. Gabriel signed a new deal till 2029. Hincapie and Calafiori can both play LCB too.

Arteta has a CB fetishized so I wouldn’t be surprised if Calafiori is moved to LB for good.

Briefs are coming out tonight

"Chelsea are calm about the market" of course we are, we don't want to spend money

"If there is an oppurtunity in the market, then we may act" may is the crucial word, translates to 'will we fuck'

"Chelsea left the Semenyo conversation as the figures were not right" which translates to 'he wanted City and nobody else'

We ain't buying anyone in January, the PP and SD's are loving this

Figures were not right yet spunked £100m on Gittens & Garnacho…. Aye right….

The briefs are hilarious. They think they can pull the wall over our eyes. Its the same with that dipshit journalists who got the Q&A with the leadership group, gullible enough to write an article putting the same sort of nonsense in it then release a corresponding one a few days later saying their skeptical….. yeaaaaah 😂

IF they get Guéhi and IF Colwill never fully recovers for us they will have NINE players who all have played CB in the past or present and all of whom would be better than anyone we have atm (for sure IF Colwill is perma wrecked). Potentially Acheampong may end up better than many of the Arse 9 listed below. We damn well had all best hope he does and Colwill fully recovers.

they would have Guéhi

then 8 more

William Saliba (top 5 CB on the planet)
Gabriel Magalhães  (top 5 CB on the planet)
Piero Hincapié
Cristhian Mosquera
Riccardo Calafiori
Jurriën Timber
Ben White
Declan Rice

Its all  about prioritising a spine - thought we already knew this. This involves one or two experienced players, and you start from the back. Fucking hell that was our policy when we were successful, cant they see that ?

What the hell is Marc Guehi if not an opportunity in the market??

Maybe Guehi doesn't want to come to this mess?

If he sees out his contract, he'll get a nice sign on fee and get his pick of European clubs

We had a decent spine but how many of them are actually fit?

Reece - Fofana - Colwill - Cucu   Caicedo - Lavia

Lavia and Fofana's injury records are a joke, how do you spend 120 million and they can't play 3 games in a row.

You have TWO for every position, you dont outsource the medical to a company that also repairs other players from rivals.

I cannot think of a more sensible and crucial signing now for us than going for Marc Guehi

Exactly.

How many top centre backs are you going to get for £30-40m yet alone a home grown, ex academy player who is already living in & around London? Its beggars belief that they have quite clearly no intentions of going for it. Yet some 16 year old CB from Ecudaor, Cyprus or Afghanistan or wherever who may be good in 3-4 years will be their first priority.

Could have done it in the fucking summer too when the previous manager was screaming put for a CB in the press after Wesley’s injury….. they have no interest in competing with the big boys. Like zilch.

Has Lavia really played enough football here in the 3 seasons to be considered part of any potential spine? Like in those minutes has he really looked like someone who can contribute, can be relied upon to that level?

The club were more than willing to offload him to United in the summer in a deal for Garnacho as well. He hasn’t done enough & probably won’t due to his injuries - not his fault but when you sign an injured player & he gets injured again constantly, your always up against it. Do think he will (rightfully, probably) be on the chopping block in the summer too.

As mentioned, you need depth. Look at any successful side we had here in the past. Fofana (again has he really done enough to be considered part of a spine) & Colwill are out long term… we have got Tosin & Trev in most weeks. Tosin couldn’t spell defend yet alone try & do it.

That potential spine you put, never mind Lavia, 3 of those 6 are severely injury prone?

🔵🗯Kendry Paez on his way to Ipswich Town on loan Essugo could go to Strasbourg on loan.

💥Dario Essugo took some part in Liam Rosenior's first training session today. Academy players like Shim Mheuka, Jesse Derry and Reggie Walsh were involved.

Essugo to go on loan? So we are going to be looking to sign another MF player in January? Can’t rely on just Caicedo, Santos & Enzo every week. Lavia’s fitness & injury record also doesn’t inspire confidence.

In our current state and with other PL giants all wanting him I don’t think Guehi would consider us for a second even with his connection to the club. In fact, us “giving up” on him and selling him is probably something he holds against us.

Others may disagree but I feel like I’ve said here before in the last couple of windows that while Guehi is a very solid CB, he isn’t the massive upgrade who’d instantly solves our issues at the back that everyone is desperate for. I don’t think he’s any better than either Fofana or Trev. These are all solid PL CB’s and nothing more for me.

Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Liverpool, Man City & Arsenal all after him but he’s nothing more than a solid PL CB sure 🙄

Trev, Tosin, Fofana & Colwill are all a lot worse than him…. in various different levels. But all worse. I mean you have seem them play for us right? And have seen Guehi play? Seriously?

Would be a massive coup to get Guehi, not going to solve every issue we have (lacking an elite GK also) but definitely a massive, massive improvement on what we call a defence.
