we already have a young squad and these purchases of young players means that not all of them will have opportunities in the first team, even if they manage to develop and become excellent players

Its invest, its business, like buying stocks of a start-up company.

Fulham have had a bid for Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi rejected. Fulham deciding whether to go back in with an improved offer. Hudson-Odoi expected to leave Chelsea this summer. He has entered the final year of his contract.

Maybe after Mitro will leave.

After months of talking with Brighton I wonder if we’re even going to see the usual “Chelsea have placed a bid for Caicedo” song and dance where we go back and forth. Or one day (better be this week, ffs) we just see from Ornstein that a fee has been agreed and it’s wrapped up without the drama.

I mean, come on. Every one of our rivals have their primary midfield targets in and training except for us. We HAVE to finally push this shit through this coming week so he gets as many preseason matches with the team as possible. He’s already going to miss the first one in a couple of days.

Everyone is moaning about caicedo not being wrapped up but keep in mind, he may have doubts about moving to us anyway. We don't have CL and we don't have a proven development plan yet. I saw rumours that personal terms had been agreed but I'm always sceptical about these things.

In my opinion, most of these highly rated signings should've been wrapped up 2 years ago after we won CL. Instead we got lukaku and loaned Saul. In comparison, first time we won CL we signing Hazard that summer....

Caicedo wants the move. He literally came out a few days ago and described us a 'beautiful team'. His literal words were:

"It’s a big team, that’s true, a very historic team.

‘I can’t say no because it’s a very big, historic, beautiful team. And the city as well is beautiful.’

That pretty much clears things up. It is only the negotiating between the two teams that is holding things up.

I think you have been used to the previous 2 windows, when transfer news was leaking out of the club like water in a siv, that seems to have been sorted and now we hear hardly anything, which is a joy tbh.

What is City plan? Walker agrees to join Bayern and Mahrez agrees Saudi move. Silva also wants out. They are lacking full backs but Pep stopped using them in new formation. And now they are out of wingers as well. Especially after treble I can see lack of motivation which we already saw before with other clubs. And now they may lose players without replacements. Not much squad depth.

United and Arsenal just bought players that prevent them from title push in Mount, Havertz and Rice.

Unfortunately I cannot see us making anything of this because we also are lacking in many departments. Spurs will lose Kane to Bayern so you can bet Liverpool will use this new situation in PL.

City find a way to fight for the title.

On the other hand, I do not agree that Havert and Mount are players to fight for the league and there are also doubts about Rice, about Arsenal and notably what impact the departures of Partey and Xhaka will have on the team because they have had a good season.

Regarding Chelsea, we needed a miracle and a few more signings to fight for the title.

See the Maguire links are back.

I am sorry but if we even entertain the idea of signing Maguire, the whole footballing infrastructure put in place, all these guys, all fucking stupid. Absolutely insane. Not that they’ve covered themselves in glory anyway barring Enzo, Badiashile and Nkunku but Maguire would be one of the stupidest transfers this window.

He’s just been stripped of United captaincy and will be getting pushed out there - if he’s not good enough for Man United, he certainly isn’t good enough for us, 12th place finish last season or not. I mean they were playing that clown Lindelof ahead of him. Lindelof….

No point in raging over an absolute non story lol
