Vic had one great season at Napoli. The rest have been middle of the pack. A lot of other strikers in the Serie A have put up his numbers if not better and done it at a similar/younger age.

Osimhen's done it in multiple leagues, and his stats have improved year on year, aside from one that involved him needing facial reconstruction. Look at his age too.

No he hasn't he has one season with more than 20 goals and has now reverted back to his normal level. At 120m he is a complete waste of money.

The striker market is trash right now, find whatever stop gaps we can find until something good shows up, we can't afford to get it wrong again especially when we talking about big money transfer.

How long do we wait for "something good"? wasn't Osimhen meant to be the something good? We need a striker now we need to try and get the best we can for now tbh

Who knows, might take a while until something else shows up, Oshimhen is a more polished Lukaku, he offers less than Jackson in the build up, if he will have a goal drought bet his thread will be very active with many crying he doesn't do anything. For 120m this guy is a waste of money, if he was 60-70m would be okay.

I'd take the risk on Guirassy but think Bayern are after him. Hope we ain't touching this Gyokeres dud either.

In league football, he has. Have you actually watch Napoli at all this season, as you'd know what the real issue is.

£108m is his supposed release clause.  Out of all the CF targets, he be the best value in terms of what he offers and his profile.

Some people change their minds more than the British weather changes. Let's get another stop gap (Jackson #2), complain that he isn't delivering, and repeat the cycle until our bottom half status is cemented.

I think it is telling that other top clubs have cooled their interest in Osimhen. It is a lot of a club's budget on a player that might come good, or be another Timo.

His goal scoring record outside of that one season is very mid level... And he has done it in very average leagues. Jackson is a better player than him. He is.

VO ain't carrying the ball up the field and opening up the game like NJ is. Sure NJ has missed some sitters, but they are more highlighted because of how poor we've been as a club - and those big chances created are very misleading. Sure - some strikers would have put more in the net, but its more so down to return to the mean stuff rather than Jackson as a player. He isn't always going to miss tap ins and that.

I'm all for getting another striker, but VO isn't the sure fire thing like Kane and Haaland. Don't need to try and force it IMO.

I personally find this characteristic not very useful for strikers at big clubs... perhaps even detrimental for the team. There should be several more qualified players for that job at an elite outfit. For me Jackson's a bit of a ball hog, which is the one thing I dislike about his game. Also, as and if we improve, and become respectful again, he will have less and less opportunity for these runs.
xG is indeed relative and most, if not all, strikers have wild fluctuations in their xG throughout their careers.

Bad idea to flog our only decent attacker in an unfamiliar position

He needs to stop this obsession of round pegs in square holes.

Make players play in positions they are meant to play in.

Not saying that Cole Palmer cant do a decent job as false 9, and 1-2 players out of position to cover up for squad deficiency is okay, but anything more than that for several games is a bit much.
